the thing that annoyed me with reach and other halos was that if you shut down an enemy vehicle they would just leave it before you could hijack them...they they would kill you and get back in.....or you would get in it and they would kill you....what i am saying is the plasma shot should lock them in the vehicle so they couldn't get out until they had control of the vehicle again, excluding open vehicles like mongoose,warthog,ghost

Makes sense to me...I also think that if you PP a Jet Packer, their jetpack should shutdown and they should fall. I dont think your idea would make the PP OP, it just makes sense that it would disable all functions including the ability to open the hatch and get out. I like :)

Seems like the Jet Pack is powered by the suit, making the EMP useless against it. We only have half duration from Reach anyway. Further nerfs would make me cry...

haha I know Ryu, but logically speaking, even if the jet pack is powered by the suit, the jet pack itself still needs to maintain an electrical charge to function, so if a PP were to hit it, it would cease functioning at least for a bit.

 

I agree it has been nerfed since Reach, but unlike you I cant stand it, so if it gets shut down by the PP I would love to see a Jet Packer fall to his death lol :P

The situation that the OP described never happened to me. Not even once. I don't think in a situation like that you can put the blame on the Plasma Pistol's EMP.

If you're not a good enough player to know that you should take out the driver of a vehicle asap unless you're hijacking it, put the blame on yourself.

And i do not mean hijacking while the vehicle is still affected by the EMP.

This isn't an issue with the Plasma Pistol, this is an issue with common sense and skill.

Not necessarily, if you PP a tank in Reach, the driver can still get out. You cant shoot the driver out of a tank like you could in Halo 2 or even Halo 3. So I think the OP has a point, if you PP a tank, banshee etc. the driver should not be able to open the hatch and get out of the vehicle.

The suits maintain their electric functions such as movement and hud due to EMP protection. Therefore, the Jet Pack would be intact! :)

That actually makes sense. So that'd mean that Spartans either wouldn't be able to move at all when hit with an overcharged Plasma Pistol shot, or would also still be able to use their jetpack.

I'd prefer the 2nd version
