But to answer your question, Forward Unto Dawn is the name of the spacecraft commanded by Captain Miranda Keyes in Halo 2 and Halo 3, and is the spacecraft that Master Chief John Spartan 117 was stranded in at the end of Halo 3. Unto is an older way of saying "to", "until", or "by".
Vendetta
I'm guessing what "Forward unto dawn" means, is that they will march forward until the end of the war and violence. "Dawn" can be used as peace, or an end to violence or something along those lines. Unto is an older way of saying "to", "until", or "by". That's quite interesting. 500 years after now and they are using an older way of saying to, until or by.
