Limited edition Halo 4 xbox!!

I've been doing some research and it looks like the halo 4 Xbox doesn't come with the content (maps, skins, etc.) included in the collector's edition.. Can someone confirm this for me? It seems odd that the content wouldn't be included with the halo 4 Xbox considering the price is nearly three times as much.

That is correct, the LE COnsole Bundle DOES NOT come with the War Games Map Pass. The Console does come with its own unique FOTUS armor, Light Rifle skin, FOTUS armor for your Avatar (Male and Female), Crawler Avatar Prop, and a Unicorn emblem. But the reason it is 3x as much is because it comes with both a standard copy of Halo 4, and the Xbox 360 Console with 2 controllers. A normal console is already around $300 dollars, add Halo 4 for $60, and add another controller for another $60, you are looking at individually $420. So you will save a bit and get some cool unique console stuff and in game content as well.

Thank you for the quick reply! I still think it's weird that their most expensive Halo 4 package is lacking content though... Looks like 343i is 'bout their $$$.

I suppose, but remember the Console Edition's main highlight is the fact that it combines an Exclusive Halo 4 themed Xbox 360 Console, 2 Halo 4 themed controllers, and Halo 4. When you look at PS3 Bundles, they cost the same as a normal console, but come with a game and a controller, and they arent even themesd. At least the Halo 4 Console bundle is themed lol

Everyone is about their money these days. Do you think the developers at 343 don't need to eat or support families? That's one of the biggest reasons why they develop games in the first place. Besides, as Tallgeese said, the overall value of that bundle is a bit higher than what they are selling it for. In reality, they are helping people save money.

10% of that could feed his family. Youre flaming me for the wrong thing. I'm arguing that they should have the content included in a limited edition HALO 4 Xbox.

I think you misunderstood my statement. I was not flaming you. I apologize if I came off that way. I'm just giving you my point of view is all.

Besides, you also need to consider manufacturing costs. Pressing those discs does cost money. They need to be able to have enough to spend to manufacture, advertise, and send out enough of the product to meat demands. They also need to be able to make that back, and still make a profit off of it. Also need to consider that a percentage of the copies might not sell (which is doubtful). When we buy the game, we are also paying a certain percentage of that cost.

I'm fine with waiting for the map pack pass like Ryu, but I don't like missing out on the ability to have all of the specializations from the start. I don't understand that. I would hope they would make that feature available to those who buy the console. I understand the want to produce profit, but to justify the high cost of the product, you should be getting the premium treatment. I believe that those who choose to spend the premier amount on the product should receive the premier treatment. If you chose to upgrade a dinner from $8 to $60, you would expect to get the best of everything.

Here's what I'm really confused on. Why is there two different pricing brackets? Why isn't there an option to get the limited edition game with the console? I can find a 349.99 version on amazon and microsoft store with the exact same specs as the version depicted on xbox.com. I would pay the extra fifty dollars to be able to get the limited edition of the game. I feel like it's already a great deal because it's only a $50 increase from the standard edition model with an added controller, bigger hard drive, and included game. Also, when it says download codes for the game, has there been any clarification of what that means?

That being said, I'm probably going to buy the console anyways out of necessity. I'm using an arcade version of the Xbox 360 with my original 20 GB hard drive in it. It's my fifth xbox that I've bought over time and it's lasted the longest. I think it might be time for an upgrade, due to having to install 8GB of game data and the fact that mine is hanging on by a thread.

EDIT: I just read a long rant by someone blowing up the Halo 4 console by saying "it won't matter because the Xbox 720 is coming out next year." Bugspray or not, I'm rethinking my decision..

It is being announced next year. It could come out 2 or 3 years after announcement. No one knows the release date. I'd go ahead and get another 360. The 720 may not play 360 games and your arcade could die. My friend's arcade exploded and a shard hit him in the arm. It was the only shrapnel that flew, but they can die pretty hard,
