adalton1985
No instruction manual in my Halo 4 video game?! Please I beg you Microsoft to allow customers to receive a printed copy of the manual for this game. Paying $60 for a video game is a rip off if its not included. As a video game collector, I feel that the games package, the included game, the manual, and other inserts all combine to create an exceptional work of art. I will not be completely satisfied with Microsoft products until this is resolved!

Real Talk
Yea pretty much all new games have like 3 pages of a manual. I remember when they were a lot bigger, not to long ago really.
Zaguroth
Why do you need a manual for the game? The controls are in the game itself... Only thing I can see a manual being used for is to figure out the controls... And for something like Halo 4, with a variety of control schemes.... A manual really isn't needed... MemoryDecay
Sad how this is the world we live in, no instructions for games anymore. It pisses me off it's like giving the finger to customers who actually like reading a manual.
JCaboose33
They were never really that useful anyway except for in strategy or rpg games. Everything is explained to you in-game anyway.

Melthris
The need of manuals is long gone. Back in the day when games were limited in size, a manual was a great way to explain things such as the controls, story, etc but we don't really have those limitations now so what's the point of a manual if you essentially have a digital copy with your game? Sure it doesn't have pages that you can turn but everything you need to know is in the game itself. And it's a waste of paper. Most people that get games these days wouldn't even open their manual if one came with their new game purchase. Also, not having a manual does not make a game worth 'less' for a collector so I don't see why people are getting cranky over the lack of a manual. Just buy the books/comics if you want to read/look at something.
Loopy Altitude
It's not that the manual is useful, it's the fact of a game having one that just makes it better. Say, I open up an old video game. Inside, there's the game itself, an instruction manual, a quick-reference sheet, maybe even a little poster. It feels cool to have all that stuff there. When I open a game today, there's a disk in there, maybe a one/two sheet "instructions manual", and a waver with a code on it. It just doesn't have the same feeling anymore...
