I bought the Halo 4 Limited Edition and had all 7 specialisations at the start, at level 50 I chose Wetwork for my specialisation because I want the ability it gives but apparently after that I only had Wetwork and Operator, the two default Specialisations and couldn't find the others like tracker and so on, is there a fix or did I waste my money?

Looks like I'm having the server down problem that people had 20 days ago. Reading through this thread, it's the exact same thing but only happening to me. I know my internet is working fine because I'm able to get into matches and connect to players.

 

It'll let me get into the menus of the Spartan Ops and look at stuff just fine as the message "Downloading information from xbox live" is in the corner. Then it kicks me back to the Spartan Ops main menu, makes the choices fuzzed out, and tells me I can't connect to the server. Same thing happens with matchmaking, except the default game types are still there for me to choose. I can even get into a match seemingly fine. Anyone else having the problem again?

Split screen on Complex.

 

I read somewhere that the game has the ability to dumb down graphics in order to compensate or lag/create smoother gameplay based on your connection. I have just started playing split screen with a friend for the last 2 weeks and even the incredibly large maps in big team seem to run flawlessly. It's just Complex. Maybe the standards need to be knocked down. All I know is that myself and my friend have always had a very "choppy" gameplay experience on this map as it must have trouble rendering all of the graphics. Everything is delayed and skippy it seems.

 

Please look into complex on split screen or quite possible personal customization for graphic/performance settings.

Early this morning I started playing and I was able to play the game online for a couple hours with the same general lag issues that I usually have. Afterwards, however, I started getting messages saying I had disconnected from xbox live every couple games even when I hadn't, then when I reconnected to xbox live to fix the issue possibly for the third time it started giving me the issue of "Halo 4 servers are unavailable." Not only this, but I am unable to access the waypoint at all, either from the xbox app or the website. It has been over 12 hours now and the issue hasn't been alleviated whatsoever.

Let me start off by saying I have been a very dedicated and loyal Halo fan since day one.

 

I appreciate that 343 has some big shoes to fill. The visual quality of Halo 4 is awesome and the nuances and additions to Halo 4 are growing on me as I become more comfortable with the game. I can't even begin to imagine the complexities behind building and maintaining a game like Halo 4 and because of that I have remained patient. However my patients are wearing thin and I am so saddened by the issues I have had with Halo 4 and the lack of customer support that I have finally reached out to this community. Seems as though the glory days of Halo are behind us.

 

Disappointment and frustration are quickly becoming the two words I use most to describe Halo 4.

 

I do not understand the business or entertainment value behind the move to limited XP during a 24 hour period and once you have reached level 70. I have the opportunity right now to play a lot and I was looking forward to it. 343 is telling some of the most dedicated Halo fans that our dedication is not appreciated and our long term enjoyment of this type of entertainment doesn't matter. How does it makes sense to neglect and penalize the most dedicated and loyal to the franchise? Why would I want to keep playing the game and get nothing in return? My XP from commendations and challenges evaporate so it feels like it is illogical to continue to play now with my friends as I am wasting the time and XP. For those who say "Why care about the XP?" I say "If It didn't add to the enjoyment and experience of online play, then why have it in the first place?" Clearly there is a rewarding feeling behind levels and and there is a huge emphasis in Halo 4 on gaining XP.

 

After two new routers, one new xbox and 4 hours on the phone with Xbox tech support (as 343 didn't offer any) I have yet to determine why during almost every game I play online I get booted from my live party mid-match and then sit waiting on the "starting game" screen while everyone else is playing still. It's not the same as when everyone gets frozen because someone dropped out of the game as I will die multiple times during the freeze by the time I return to the game.

 

Why is my DNF count so high. I don't quite mid-match ever?

 

Why would I want to be dropped into a match that is almost over? Regardless of if I'm on the winning or loosing team. I'd rather wait for a game to start from the beginning.

 

Why let players back out of matchmaking once they see the maps and they don't like them? This is just increasing the amount of people dropping and increasing the need for random players to join games mid match as well as causing games to load with only people on one team.

 

I purchased the limited edition and still only have two specializations.

 

Last but not least in the venting of my frustration, what purpose would my friends or anyone else have to want to level up if at the end is so easy to reach and there isn't anything you can do to further your online career once it's obtained?

 

Though I feel this message may never reach the eyes of those who should be reading it. I hope at least that others can read this and feel as though they aren't the only ones that feel insulted and abandoned by 343.

Well said, and this doesn't even begin to go into the lack of a good hit detection system, unbalanced weapons, ordinances and vehicles. (Also, don't forget instant respawn.) It's a shame really, because with a bit of work this could be a really fun game, but for now I just don't see the effort or reassurance I need to be hopeful.

Please select "The best host" for games, sick of Mexicans lagging the bloody game out.

On Spartan Ops, elites are invisible forever sometimes and you can only see their weapons on the floor.

Like all other big releases, this one was expected to have launch day problems. Try playing again in a month or so, things should be sorted out by then.

 

Or maybe do a beta next time so the gAme you charge $60 for actually works the day you sell it. Shoulda got black ops 2

for the past three days while trying to play halo four online it has said servers are down while my buddies on line have had no problem im really thinking about trading in the game dose any one know how to fix the problem or contact any at 343. because hey ive been a loyal follower of this franchise since halo 1 and have never had any problems till now

Just put the halo 2 multiplayer servers back up, that was the last good halo anyway, the franchise is devolving

The other day I was playing spartan ops episode 2 chapter 1 on Legendary, and when the enemies spawned in, they were smaller than the weapons they were holding. Didn't stop them from killing me though. And they had EXTREMELY tiny hitboxes. And the assasinations werent even funny. It looked like I was h*mping a plasma repeater.

Pre-ordered and bought Halo 4 Limited Edition. Since noon 26NOV have not been able to play on main server (over 28 hours ago). Talked to both GameStop and XBox Live on phone and both have stated only 343 Industries can help me.

 

Tried reloading content, re-booting game, re-booting modem and router, and re-booting gamertag with no effects. Halo Waypoint produces variable error codes at Halo 4 Stats page and general page states I've never played Halo 4 game. Gamertag still shows I'm SR39 both to me and friends; but if I try to play online it says SR1.

 

How do I get back into the main server and continue playing Halo 4, completing challenges, and advancing? Have no idea how I got in; but Is there a way out of the "punishment box"? Please help!

Have you tried clearing the systems cache? (settings, memory, hd, it's one of the options)

To be honest i am not sure if this will fix things for you, but its worth a go.

 

Its a shame that H4 is just turning out to be one big bug/glitch fest. I am playing through on legendary, already had to restart a level because a door did not open. Also had challenge progress disappear. Achievements not unlocking, glitches seen and experienced online. and the list goes on and on.

But at least we know 343 is coming with payable mappacks for H4. So its good to know where the priorities are.

Thanks for response Peter. Just tried your idea with cache; but remain locked out of Halo 4 main server. Also, Halo Waypoint Stats for Halo 4 are still unavailable for my gamertag.

 

Wondering how many other gamers are in the same frustrating situation I'm in. It's disappointing when I just simply want to get back into the game and progress my Spartan like my friends are... but can't.

Shame that it did not work. Because of your issue with Waypoint i was already unsure that it would help, but then you never know and it would have been great if it had.

do you also experience issues with Waypoint on the site itself?

The only other thing i can think of (besides posting your problem here) is to perhaps download your profile again. but i think you did that already?

im right there with you mentat, been locked out of the main servers for 2 days now as well. Worst part about is that it seems like maybe 5% of the player base has the problem, while the other 90-95% are having no problems playing the game. if the problem was serverwide and nobody could play i bet it would be less than a day to fix, but since only a small number of us are screwed they can take their sweet time fixing it and we just have to hope we can play the game we bought for 60$ brand new even though a new company is taking over the franchise and we could honestly have waited to see if it really is halo or not. So far it was what i wanted it to be, but i honestly dont remember not being able to play with my friends when bungie was in charge.

I live in Brimingham Alabama and I am desperately seeking answers to the sever issues. i have paid good money for this game halo4 and would love to continue to playing it without server issues....................i love all the halo games and have played and beat everyone of them. i have never experinced any problems like this with any game before.............just a concerned 343i fans desperatley seeking a resolution to this problem.

Add me to the list of not being able to access the Halo 4 servers. I'm personally going on 30+ hours of only being able to play on the default playlist and only as an all black SR1.

 

No spartan ops and limited access war games. I paid $80 (including map pass) for this? I've been with Halo since CE, so I'm not about to jump off just yet.

 

So please, 343-Just let us know that you're listening and give us an update on what's happening. You know Bungie would...

I also haven't been able to play on the main servers for 48 hours.... having no interest to play since I only get around 200 exp each game. I would be happy if 343 would release an ETA when the servers would be back up... mostly any other game developers would... Not happy with 343's customer support. Seems like they don't read the forums too often or are to lazy to reply. If there is no update on when this problem will be fixed by the end of the week, I will be considering on selling my H4 and buying Black Ops 2... even though I promised myself beforehand that I would not.
