Death Panda x
The Competitive Skill Ranking has been announced is planned to drop early next year. Full Story Here: http://blogs.halowaypoint.com/post/2012/11/02/Halo-4-Competitive-Skill-Rank-Announcement.aspx Great Job 343! Only complaint I have is I think your Skill Rank should be viewable from you Halo 4 Profile on Halo 4 and in the playlists, instead of just making it visible on Halo: Waypoint
JSchwartz
Agreed, this would be much better. The only negative to a csr is that people will attempt to cheat to increase theirs. People already cheat in order to progress through the sr's more quickly anyway and should be a motivation to 343 to develop solutions to cheating rather than give up and leave out one of the core aspects of halo. A true skill system does not work properly unless players are motivated to WIN and not LOSE every game. If there is not a visible in game csr a lot of players become apathetic or they will focus on padding their own stats whether or not their team loses. For example it is relatively easy to sit back in most games and not die often in order to maximise your k/d ratio not assisting your team mates, instead letting them die and picking off easy kills. This is not fun for your team mates and does not result in those adrenaline inducing close games where you know your rank is on the line. If players are not motivated to WIN games then their true skill for the purposes of matchmaking will not be accurately realised also negatively affecting the matchmaking experience. Obviously social playlists are fantastic too and allow for a more relaxed varied experience and perfectly balance the inclusion of ranked playlists. cloakster
The game was only in development for 2+ years, no big deal... Its great to see that they are going to implement a ranking system, but this is wayyyy too late.
Death Panda x
True they are really late, but better late then never. And about boosting and cheating they are probably going to fix that. It isn't that hard, all they need I do is have max "expected odds" of losing. Like in H3 when your with a boosting your odds of winning are about 1/80 (depending on booster) and when you win it thinks that's amazing so it ranks you up a ton. But if they put the max odds of losing to like 1/3, than boosters shouldn't be an issue.
Dane Rohl
I will be very disapointed if this only is implemented on waypoint and not visible on halo 4 the actual game period.
Victory Element
I will be very disapointed if this only is implemented on waypoint and not visible on halo 4 the actual game period. same. I always thought the BPR from waypoint should be the ranking system, but i never saw it even displayed in my stats
Death Panda x
Yeah same, also they should definitely reset it when the system comes out. I'd hate starting out a 40 with 200 games and it taking 7 wins to rank up if you know what I mean.
TornadoFlame
i don't understand why they can't just put it next to are name like halo 3 and 2. Halo 4 is a 2 disc game they should beable to do this and not use a 3rd party program you have to leave halo 4 go to the dashboard then waypoint to see if we went up 1 level or not... :/
