Please tell me why this game is like CoD.

Just because you can make your own classes doesn't make it CoD. I personslly think it's a nice adittion to the game. This game will become like CoD if they make the same game over and over again, and most people around here seem to want that. So 343i, please make more Halo 2's for the next five years!

Ps. the drop in - drop out system doesn't make it like cod either. Plenty of games have it.

Its because this hasn't been recent in Halo games EVER and now that it is its scaring fans of the original Halo games to insanity. The problem is that it is LIKE CoD...I Mean how would you feel if all of a sudden in CoD they decided to add the soldiers in super suits and stuff..It wouldn't be Halo but it would be LIKE halo wouldn't it?..

I agree. There are certain concepts such as loadouts that are similar to Call of Duty but the game plays nothing like Call of Duty. In Halo 4 there is balanced gameplay and, most of the time, you have a chance to shoot back and use your skills to kill your opponent. In Call of Duty you are killed before you can even turn around and none of the game is balanced.

It's similar to CoD in that we have loadouts, unlockables that do actually affect gameplay a lot, everything moves at this god awful lightning pace, shields go down like it's nothing, and there's no point to map control. I could probably go on but there's really no need. The game is terrible and IS NOT Halo in anything but namesake and weapondry.

Exactly, Which werent ever present in Halo...I mean we couldnt even sprint untill Halo Reach came out..Remember?..

And what is wrong with adding Sprint? It makes the game fast paced. And I would think that super soldiers should be able to run if they want to.

I don't think the game plays like Duty, but I do think they took too many features from it. I like sprint, but could do without the ordinance packages, drop in/out (means there's no punishment for quitting), and the scoring (which I'm sure they'll change).

Also, I love the sprint feature.

Incase none of you knew...CoD copied all of their gameplay asthetics from other games. They took sprint, loadouts, and multiple gametypes from the original Battlefield, and perks from Star Wars : Battlefront. Not to forget the Theater/File Share from Halo, along with the two weapon system.

But in all honesty it doesn't matter. Back in the day no one cared about which game took what idea. Every game benefited the shooter genre as a whole.

Halo isn't even really stealing the loadout system from anyone in particular. Almost every other game has it. So what if it is new. Go play Halo 4 and tell me it is not a Halo game.

Stealth pilot, I agree with the fact that it isn't just copying cod, but i think that halo 4 is less of a halo game, I don't like most of the features, but people are just comparing it to cod because it's the most well known game that has those mechanics in at the moment.

The game needs new features though. It'll be like CoD if they don't.

My main issues with the game right now is that rather than the old classic gameplay where most weapons could be found on the map, they are now taken from another player who obtained it through a weapon drop. This has made the game pretty boring, at least for me. i loved fighting over the rocket launcher on maps that had it.

If you've played previous Halo games you might be aware of little subtleties which people are complaining aboutthat make it similar, but not identical to COD

1. Customisable Loadouts - never ever ever ever ever ever ever been present in a Halo game until now (Reach had preset loadouts in selective playlists)

2. Reduction in Health - In previous games, it would take more than 3 shots to kill you

3. Killstreaks - Ordnance drops are a killstreak similar to Care Packages in COD where no killstreaks have ever been present in a previous Halo

4. Ability to leave/join whenever - very similar to COD, previous games would go to the extent of punishing you for leaving a game

5. Instant Respawn - COD has instant respawning, Halo has always had a little countdown which increased after a suicide or betrayal

6. Perks - An exact copy of COD. They've even taken "Warlord/Overkill" (2 primary weapons) and "Marathon" (infinite sprint) and put it right into the game

7. Bloom - Previous games would punish players for spraying by making the reticule "bloom", making the weapon less accurate. Halo 4 has very little to no bloom at all

8. Killcams - This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it is similar to COD

9. Levelling System - COD has a straight 50/60/100 or however many levels, almost solely based on play time. There is no skill ranking system. Halo 2 and 3 both had a system where the better you were, the higher level you could achieve (this was removed with Reach)

10. "Prestige" - Like COD, Halo 4 brings with it a type of prestige system, where you can restart after the highest level and pick a "Specialisation"

11. Unlockables - Weapons being able to be unlocked based on level is a copy of COD. Halo has never had unlockable weapons and this ties in with the customisable loadout point. Unlockables mean that someone at a higher level has a selective advantage due to the fact that they could potentially have better weapons

For those 11 reasons, people argue that Halo 4 is a new copy of COD. Unfortunately, I have to agree that a lot of aspects are taken or borrowed from the game and they definitely detract from the Halo experience which used to have balance and be based off skill. However now the levelling system is becoming a 2,000 game grind and the combat experience is about who has a better loadout.

This game clearly tried to make it like CoD, i dont see how anyone can dispute this. The most obvious and undeniable effort to make it like CoD is the 10 points for a kill and playing to 600. What other logical reason is there for that other than copying CoD. It is so dumb, count each kill as 1 like a normal person would count. If 343 really wants to cater to the CoD crowd to boost sales thats fine I understand that. They should also cater to us Halo players who are loyal to the series and make a playlist for us as well. They can have a CoD Halo Slayer and a real Halo slayer so the CoD kids can all play eachother and the real halo players can play each other. It wouldnt be hard, just take away instant respawns, kill cams, ordinance drops, have set weapon spawns on the map creating a need for map control. Make it so that the game never starts until there are 8 players in the lobby and no new players join mid game.

I think at this point, the major players in fps games like Halo, CoD and Battlefield have tried so many ideas, that any new feature here or there has probably been seen before in a similar facet in another game. I don't see much use in comparing similarities from one game to the other. I mean honestly, what ideas haven't been seen in any fps so far that would truly be innovative? So far, I've been in love with Halo 4...it's just one man's opinion, but I'm not sitting down thinking that I'm playing CoD or BF, no matter the similarities. It still feels like Halo.

If you want fast paced gameplay there is CoD or other games. Halo should stay Halo and not be altered with.

Halo has always been a "run and gun" shooter. If you don't think Halo should be altered with, were you upset with how much it changed from Halo CE to Halo 2? Were you even more upset by how much was changed from 2 to 3? And 3 to Reach? Face it, Bungie "altered" Halo quite a bit from game to game while still maintaining the Halo "feel". This game isn't that different from the trend. There's so many shooters out there now that every feature probably has it's core roots in a different game.

Halo 2, they added dual-wielding for smaller weapons, no sprinting, unlockables, easy ranking system. Halo 3, they took away dual-wielding and added special stuff (can't think of the name right now) still no unlockables, easy ranking system and sprinting. Halo Reach, they took away the special stuff and added sprint, cloaking etc etc and easy ranking system. Halo 4, well you see for yourself. Everything started to get ****** up in Reach. When Bungie did it, it was minor compared to this and it was better. Maybe i've should've said ''not alter it this way''.
