Dawn Wolf
So, played the first mission. You can die an unlimited amount of times, even on Legendary? O: Is this true with all the ops? If so, doesn't this kind of kill any of the challenge...? For no reason?
Flippant Sol
So, I don't like Spartan Ops because I don't like Spartan Ops? What? I never said you didn't like Spartan Ops! LOL JK, You didn't say that, although I do agree that respawning is kind of too easy to incorporate, maybe they should have checkpoints, like every two objectives. Ramo 'Talusee
It annoys me that there is no friendly fire, infinite lives, and or when you all die theres no "back to check point". That just says dont bother coordinating with your team or really trying at all, you can just spam yourselves at them til lthey all die.
Caboose The Ace
i would like that
Dawn Wolf
Yeah so far, I feel really weird about these ops. Playing them Solo Legendary is kind of a awkward experience. I very often will die, respawn in the midst of battle, kill a few enemies, die, and repeat. It really transforms potentially interesting combat scenarios into dare I say it, tedious but easy, mindless segments.
Ramo 'Talusee
If 343 intends on doing this the whole spartan ops series, I would have rather them not bother with Spartan Ops and instead have worked to bring back ODST's challengingly fun firefight mode (not reach's credit spam firefight). Its disgusting that Spartan Ops is the replacement for Firefight, if it wasn't for the story of course.

SIRBOE
This is a mod for storyline interest and fun...don't make fun unfun. If a player needs a challenge, then they should visit the tanted MM areas.
Robert 089
Me and my friends just play with 1 life each. If we die we just wait at the start, sucks if you die early but makes it a lot more challenging.

If a player needs a challenge, then they should visit the tanted MM areas. There's a big difference between challenge and something you actually CANNOT lose. That's way too far. They easily could have given players 10 lives or even more.
spartan-842
I understand that you wish for more of a challenge, but it's fun and entertaining to play with friends or alone, in my opinion. It also helps with building up your commendations, and they included it within the challenges, so you can strive to complete those, too, to earn more experience. And, obviously, if you don't like it, just steer clear of it, and don't worry about it. You aren't required to play it. Also, the game has only been out about a week, so I wouldn't expect everything to work perfectly, just yet. They may change the mechanics of Spartan Ops, and/or introduce new playlists or game modes, like firefight, as time goes on.
Dawn Wolf
Well, I get the whole, if you don't like it, don't play it option. Thing is though, S.O. was advertised a certain way. When I thought of S.O., I thought of spending a lot of time (For relatively small effort on 343's part) trying to use teamwork to tackle difficult or challenging scenarios. Instead, everyone just spawns, kills a few things, and dies, often in the middle of battle. It's a very different experience from what I, and I think a lot of people wanted. I'm not saying it's not fun in its own way, I'm saying its kind of a waste to put so much effort into these missions only to have them breezed through without a second thought. It's kind of like if Halo didn't have Legendary. You would just beat it on Heroic, and never really have the opportunity to play something as challenging and dynamic as Legendary. Although, free respawns are entirely more extreme.

You also have no control over the respawn zones or NPC's
Flippant Sol
This completely changes the fact that the ideal was borrowed from MW2's Spec Ops. In Spec Ops, if you died, Mission Failure. If you die here, o-o-oh okay, that's strange...I respawned, hmmm... This seems different from Spec Ops in a way... Unless I turned on a skull, oh wait there's no skulls, hmmm...
