*343 PLEASE READ*

Ok I want to start off by saying what a wonderful game 343 has made for all of us. The graphics are gorgeous, the campaign is while short still incredible and the game is without a doubt the best looking on Xbox. I'd like to thank 343 for daring to innovate in a stagnant game industry and changing the mold of game. I dearly want to see Halo 4 take back the throne of The Best FPS on console however there are some flaws that I believe are holding it back. However everything I see wrong with Halo is not a mechanical issue but could be fixed with some minor balance changes and playlist updates.

TLDR: Halo 4 is a incredible game, it has flaws, but they're fixable flaws.

 

I don't speak for all Halo fans but I believe these following things would make Halo allot more enjoyable to play.

 

-Minor quirk, when you enter wargames it ask you if you want to find a game or create one.. I believe you should go back to the Halo 3/Reach/Cod way of being able to see everyone in your game, and the tab opens up all the playlist.

 

-Make 2 playlist for Halo 4; one ranked and one social.

Ranked: Make it simple, No custom classes, starting with sprint or armor abilities(Pickups?), ordinances, random weapin spawns, make weapon spawns like Reach and Halo 4, maybe some power-ups(invisibility, over-shields) and maybe reduce the rate of fire of the Battle Rifle and nerf the assault rifle.. Some more shields/health to make the fights last a little longer.

Social: Everything I said to not have in ranked put in Social, everything goes!! Except maybe random weapon spawns, I think controlling power weapon spawns is a integral part of Halo, and when there is nothing to fight for control of we just run around.

 

-Make some new playlists, Team Swat, Team Doubles, Invasion, Action sack. Do Double xp weekends.. Bring back shotty snipers, team shotguns, team swords, team rockets, all in the social playlist. I can't remember what it was called but it was a race and you were on mongooses with rocket launchers and it was incredibly fun.

 

-Ranked play like Halo 2, 1-50..

 

-Balance weapons, you can either nerf weapon damage or buff health, maybe slow the game down a little bit by nerfing sprint in social playlists.

 

-If you really want your fans to love you, you'd take a page from Treyarch and remake popular maps, while they only had one decent map(nuketown) you have a plethora to pick from. Some of my favorites: Guardian, The Pit, Last Resort, Sword Base, Ghost town,Foundry"(add more of your favorites). If you made a dlc with remakes I'd defintely buy!!

 

If you can think of anything else please add, we need 343 to see this. I want Halo 4 to be the best again, it'd due time.. We owe it to Master Chief//

If they can make ranked playlists that are less complicated and don't have perks. Simplicity. Where skill plays a far more prominent role in who wins firefights. The game is fixable, 343 industries needs to make ranked, and make ranked barebones like Halo 3/2.. I really appreciate what they're trying to do, but I'm afraid if they don't start making changes fast it will be too late. I want to see this game succeed really bad

 

-Also take out instant spawns and killcams in ranked

I wish they would bring invasion back. I do not think there should be ranked and social gametypes because it would not work well with the new ranking system.

 

I would like to see many more gametypes entered including Classic and Doubles. Unfortunately they are not including invasion, VIP or assault. :(

I Like your idea.. I am halo fan from CE days and I can appreciate the HALO 2/3 ranks based on Wins/losses which we will have soon if you read your updates. But as I do agree I want to see my freinds in my lobby with out clicking on the "X Button" and I would like to see the Rank System have unique colors for every number you achive instead of the just plain blue numbers however, I dont agree with taking out perks it is flawless in that aspect, keep in mind the game has "Evolved" with technology. HALO 4 does have a MLG feel to it like HALO 2 did, lets see for the pro players like me how it impacts on a MLG level. Remember all HALO fans if this game does not impact on the MLG level it does not matter what the casual gamer thinks, it's the competitive halo fans the are the ones that makes the game popular forcing gaming analyst to recoginze what halo 4 has done or should it be awared with a Medal and should it be part of this years MLG tourny or not make it like HALO REACH did. There are alot of hudge updates comming that will drasticly change the out look on that competitive nature hope you true die hard halo fans are ready for it...

 

P.S The Maps need some work.

If you think the graphics are great I guess we are playing a totally different game then....just for example your telling me that the graphics in online menus and lobby look gorgeous? They are blocky as can be and totally washed out they look like something id expect from a 2005 game release. In game graphics are even worse, from a distance they look good but once you really start to look around you will notice a total lack of attention to detail when compared to Reach or even H3

Well I think it's a matter of opinion .... Personally I think the graphics look great and so do many others, if you don't like Halo 4's graphics that's fine, but just remember your the exception and not the norm

Most of the things I'v read on the internet have praised Halo 4's graphics.. but that's no the point of what I'm saying.Graphics don't make the game, the gameplay does.

 

And I think with some minor balance adjusting/ranked play we can revive the Halo series and make it the best Console fps again.

I highly agree with a lot of the points you make. I have years of experience in first person shooter play and want to give my opinion on how to make this game better than what it already is. I could really care less about graphics as long as they don't look like CoD black ops cartoon looking loony tunes bull****. My main attention for a FPS leans towards the competitive gameplay.

 

The only playlist I seem to enjoy is Team Slayer Pro, because there is no radar and armor abilities. This game is simply way too fast paced to have a radar as big as the one it gives you in the other playlists.

 

I don't like armor abilities, I think all of them suck anyways.

 

You have people that play to have fun, and you have people that play to compete, and you have people that play to do both. Myself, 90% or more of the time I'm playing to compete. With that being said, this game needs RANKED playlists, where a sense of achievement comes from being a higher level than other players. Real competition skill vs skill is my favorite aspect of First Person Shooters. Examples would be Ranked Team Doubles, Team Slayer, Ranked Regicide/Lone Wolves(FFA) and why not throw in Team Objective types such as Oddball / CTF / Dominion / King of the hill. Don't forget Team Snipers.

 

I feel a little bitchy complaining about noise but what the hell, the Battle Rifle sounds like complete ass. I knew it was 3 round burst capable from the get go, but I was looking for a button to toggle it from semi-automatic to 3 round burst, then I realized it's always 3 round burst. It sounds like one shot such as the DMR each time you shoot it. The battle rifle from H3 sounded great. The DMR sound could also use improvement in my opinion, considering the DMR and BR are the main 2 weapons that seem to be used over all others. Thats what I tend to hear more than anything. And I think they both sound like ass, the DMR sounds a little better than the BR.

 

Grenades, seem to be underpowered. If your on top of them they will do work, but due to having sprint and just the game being so fast paced, they do not seem to do as much damage as they should. Their should be more grenade spawns on every map and they shouldn't appear on the map, players wil learn where they spawn, and if they dont, then thats their loss.

 

Weapon spawns I would like to see change as well. At first I liked the idea of power weapons appearing on the map so the player can learn where they spawn because the game did just come out. I don't like the idea of this remaining in the game forever. I like it as a Tutorial option. Eventually people will learn, or should learn, where all weapons and grenades spawn. I do not like the idea of everyone playing being able to see exactly where and what power weapon spawned, it's hard to put this in to words but it just isn't balanced. An example of how I think it should be is, For instance, Team slayer. Each team should have a sniper rifle spawn on their default side spawn of the map. Allow only each team to see their sniple rifle on their default side of the map. Wether the other team picks theirs up or not, is up for you to go find out. Or, just do away with the "Weapons appearing on the map" all together, like all the other Halos were.

So far I do like the maps in this game but I think there should be a few more by default. More maps from previous Halos.... Blackout, Guardian, Hang Em High, The Pit.

 

 

 

All in All, if I could add/change ONE thing to this game, I would add a Team Snipers playlist for matchmaking. Hang Em High map should be in every Halo ever known to existance.

 

 

or 343, Bungie, whoever, just remake Halo 1 exactly how it was and add XBL.

I agree on allot of this. Nades need a buff, and make us more competive players a playlist that is basically barebones Halo.

 

the bottom line is clearly they did not learn from what happened with reach, nobody wants these idiotic abilites and crap in the game it ruins it.

 

Yeah I am confused to why they're pushing AA so hard. They were not implemented well in Reach nor 4... Now if we had Jetpack pickups on maps like Haven that'd be pretty cool

Because the reason it was not included is not because they forgot to. Somewhere along the line they decided that NO. We will not make invasion or assault in halo 4. So I do not think they will change their minds unless there is a incredibly strong force in the community asking for it to be implemented in the future.
