WishboneRulz
We all know that 343 has made some changes to Halo. Some subtle, some not so much. This question is in reguard to Campain and Multiplayer. Please vote and explain in a post. The only "CoD" feature that has been added that I like is the sprint, but then again, the spartans could just be faster in the first place. I find it hard to believe that a spartan could only hold a sprint for 5 seconds, game mechanic or not. And what is up with dropped weapons dissappearing? This is just terrible. It makes 90% of the fighting done with some sort of assault rifle. Booooring. If all I want to do is play with rifles, I'll play Battlefield 3. I loved how a good Halo match had rockets, needles, lasers, spikes, bullets and plasma blasts flying all over the place. Now it's either a fully or semi automatic rifle, unless you are one of the lucky ones that stumbles across a spawned weapon. This has got to be the worst change made by 343. And is it just me, or are shields far weaker in Halo 4 multiplayer? I feel like I kill/die much easier than previous Halos. If this was done to make room for the perks, then I say all of the CoD elements added to Halo 4 just need to be removed. I dont remember people complaining about previous Halo games needing to be more like CoD.
mitch1922
I agree with the post above, WishboneRulz made some very good points, 343 have ruined halo multiplayer! for me the points/scoring system is rubbish in my opinion bring back kill count only.....having load-outs has totally changed the game and its not a positive one, i remember on previous games everyone scrambling around on the map for the best weapons...all in all its not a good experience for me (halo 4) and bring back normal rumble pit....REGICIDE = rubbish...and one more thing....the game needs more maps from the get go, apparently....new maps in December to buy! ive only just purchased the game and now they want more money, could of least waited 3 or 4 months... ;(
smitty49
yea, i can see why they made some of these changes, but why didnt they include the the old stuff too like, only kills count in scoring (even though i like the scoreing better, butch ****** br usein kill stealin ********). also i dont think the maps are great, if they had brought back blood gulch or the old side winder i would think differently. and vehicles are weak,,, again... PIITB
But the cool shark and manta ray team emblems make up for it! /snickers/
WishboneRulz
Even though I dislike most of the changes, it is still a pretty fun game. But it just feels like a mix between Halo and CoD rather than an improved Halo. A purely Halo game would have been better.
JakeGo1990
All I have to say is 343 screwed up and it's not halo anymore.
SLB Scar
I dislike that some of the playlist haven't been added right away. Team Snipers!!
Vamphaery
I like most of them (or just don't care one way or the other.) But I do wish there were more large maps for BTB, more varied playlists, separate ranked and social playlists, and more game types. I don't have any issue whatsoever with the implementation, balance, etc. I didn't buy the game to have an identical experience to previous games. And I have never felt that it "has become CoD." It does feel incomplete without that functionality to me, though.
Change
No.. The DMR is OP.. The weapons dont stay on the ground long enough.. There are several places which you can shoot through rocks and buildings and get a red cross hair.. ( this is how i beat Legendary solo )... You cant veto a map!!!... You dont have enough time to select a load out ... The team killing goes unpunished.. The ghosts are very unstable ..( hit a minor object and wreck or lose control).. It makes you watch animation sequences when activating buttons.. They took out firefight.. The single best thing for solo non internet having people to play. Spartian ops is a sad replacement.. The specialization's are just another reason for boosters to boost.. Theater mode... wont even go there.. not enough CQC maps.. NO BETA .... they should have had a beta.. we would be much better off today.. Kill streaks.. again.. encourage campers with a reason to camp.. Halo was a CQC game with some Big maps in the rotation to mix it up.. Now its a Brat worst and hotdog camp fest on 90% of the maps. people dont get punished for exiting games .. i could go on , but im gonna go stand in line for BO.2.. at least there camping is expected.. and there is always a gun or perk to counter the other..

Panda777
Honestly I think Halo Reach was the turning point for Halo heading towards CoD. Although I don't mind the system that much, Although I think some more games like slayer pro that lean closer to the old school Halo set up would be wonderful and make it much more user directed. I personally like the original Halo style but I do enjoy the new set up too so I think adding both wouldn't be a bad thing per say.
mrpewterschmidt
- I like the sprint addition (Reach felt deprived by making you use an armor mod for it) - I like the scoring popups - I like the new guns (Binary, Lightrifle, Plasma rifle) - I like the loadout customization options - I like ordinance - I like the new sound effects (sniper sounds dirty, DMR too) - I don't like that grenades are weaker - I don't like that shields are weaker - I don't like the armor system (I liked "buying" armor in Reach.... you could save up for an awesome piece of armor, feel more badass wearing it. Now, every schmo who hits your level has practically the same gear) - I don't like the armor mod balance (Specializations take up an armor mod?? cmon, don't force us to pick and choose like that... at least let us use the specializations on top of the existing, start out armor mods)
Ventus
I like the new changes, it makes Halo 4 a refreshing and new experience. Some of the mechanics and changes are different and sometimes not positive, but I think 343 made a very good job with Halo 4 overall. Gundamatrix
I dislike how they appear to have forgotten about custom games completely. Flood is nowhere near as enjoyable as custom infection was. Also, NO ASSAULT? How am i supposed to play grifball now?
Larsa83
I dislike most of the changes. The campaign feels like it is on repeat from all other Halo games. And what's up with the covenants, they have like no new tricks since the war ended... oops sorry, the Brutes are gone. Also the Prometheans, I really don't remember them until I face them in battle, empty without a soul. Spartan Ops has no intense feeling like Firefight had, and I don't need the whole game to be tied up by story. Multiplayer is by far the worst. Overpowered weapons, getting thrown in already started matches, no ranking system, no social slayer, level up to unlock better skills for your spartan, sneaking is not an option since promethean vision reveals your location and your shields goes down faster than you can run. I can understand that 343 wants to go their own way as far from Bungie as ever, but when you have a rock solid ground to build on. Don't let it slip away that easy. If the game needs an update 2 months after the release, then it is very clear what has happend. The game is not complete. But then again, I don't think Microsoft could wait that long to sell thousands of Xbox 360 consoles along with Halo 4. I really like Halo: Reach so much more than Halo 4, it pains me to say how high hopes I had for Halo 4 and they all fell apart after my first day with Halo 4. The best part about Halo 4 is the Forward Unto Dawn (live action series). I think it's just great and well made.
PHIL0S0PHY
There are people who have said it very well, better than I ever can. I'll say that there are good ones and bad ones, but none of the changes are exactly better than what was there before. The only one that might be better is that Halo 4 had a deep story which is good, but than they didn't dope it again in Halo 5. If there was a hybrid of the sound designs, that would be great
