Map Testing One Flag CTF

Hey everyone,

 

Lets get a thread going to help people get their maps tested. My one flag ctf map should be ready sometime tomorrow, in the meantime, anyone who wants to be a map tester or have some of their stuff tested, leave your gamer tag here and we can all get together in the future.

I'm also working on a map and gametype for one flag which is wierd because i don't like one flag, mainly because it usualy involves alot of camping, i hope to sort that out in my gametype and map, i'll post up the info when it's done

I am having a helluva time getting my map set correctly for one flag CTF. I even went back into Reach to check the 1 flag CTF I made in there and copied the settings but still no luck. How do I need to set it up in Halo 4?

 

This is what I have currently.

 

Defender Base:

Flag Stand - set to owned by defenders, not game specific, both asymmetrical and symmetrical, and have it set to ctf_flag_return

 

Attacker base:

I tried both a flag stand and capture plate with these settings

I tried many different settings for both of these but the best I could come up with is the flag spawning on the defending side like it was supposed to but no capture area to bring it back to. I also got both flags up for a regular CTF game, but I want it to be 1 flag. What am I missing??

How do you get the teams to swap sides after each round?

@rider92 the teams will automatically change sides aftereach round. at least, that is the default setting.

 

@outlaw2005 the current halo 4 forge does not alow for 1 flag ctf specifically. my map is techinically 2 flag, but it play EXACTLY like one flag - that is, it is completely impossible for the defending team to make a capture during the round. the round ends by time limit or if the attackers score, then they switch sides.

I'm having trouble getting my flag set properly, the flag shows up just fine but there is nowhere to capture it..even with a capture plate set with labels

@inujuk - is this a bug or an intentional design decision? I really hope it's not the latter because 1 flag CTF was one of my favorite gametypes!

343 has not put 1 flag ctf into the game yet. hopefully they will bring it in the future.

 

@jackal utlra the 2 flag set up is easy. make 2 flag stands, flag return labels on them. give one to attacking team one to defenders. if you are testing the map out in a custom lobby, the flags will only show up if there is at least one person on each team.

Hey so I wanna make a siege map but i wondering if I could make it so the spawns would switch sides everytime
