I think that will be a type of grenade launcher. It looks like single shot, then reload like the Reach launcher. Idk anything about it though.

What about the attachment he places on it when he is fully in space. Maybe space battles will change the weapons you use a little.

on bungie they've already examined this. its a grenade launching pistol. id like to see a new BR a new AR basically new weapons across the board

It doesn't seem like it launches grenades. Would grenades operate the same in zero-g? It probably fires some kind of pulse similar to the concussion rifle. The part put over the head of the gun probably creates that pulse like shot when you shoot it. But the gun is much bigger than a pistol. The handle wraps around your hand and makes the gun bigger than a pistol. So it could show to be new weapons.
