No Campaign Stats on Waypoint

So I was playing campaign offline, because I didnt have access to wireless. I completed the campaign initially on normal, and then finished half of it on legendary, finding all but one of the terminals. A friend leant me his wireless adapter, and when I got on xbox live, my career stats said I had no campaign stats, and had not played, even though my campaign screen still said that I had all my completion. Im sure with one full comletetion and a half one on legendary, i must have completed some challenges or something. Im just curious as to why my stats arent there.

I think I read somewhere that you have to be online while playing to get credit for the campaign, I thought that person was just being dumb, but I guess it was the game instead
