Do specializations require email usage?

When you reach the level to earn a Specialization, do you have to access your email to get it? The email that I have linked to my Xbox Live profile is disconnected because I didn't use it for about a year or so, so if I'd have to access my email to get the specialization, I wouldn't be getting it. I've already been ripped off out of special edition and pre-order armors, and now I don't want to lose this. So would I need to access my email for anything involving specializations?

well you need it to get the other 6 early and im going to have the same problem i think

Yeah same issue here too...

well.. when you reach lvl 50 you have 2 specialisation to choose from and those who have completed those to are lvl 70 and cannot continue but i assume 343 will do the same as bungie did with reach a short time after (maybe a month) they will add the 6 remaining specialisations and no email required

 

only reason you will need a email if you got the 6 specialisation at pre-order on a internet stores such as Amazon.com and similar but i assume thats not the case

You don't have to pre-order to get the e-mail. Only had to have played Matchmaking before November 20th. But, I would try to re-create the E-mail you used for your account in the first place, that or change the e-mail affiliated with your account.
