BigDutch
In the campaign level Composer we've seen multiple Covenant ships escorting the Didact's ship to the UNSC Science Station near Installation 03. However, in Midnight only the Didact's ship in seen near Earth, without any Covenant ships escorting and defending Didact's ship. It seems unlikely that all Covenant ships were destroyed near the UNSC Science Station. Maybe Jul 'Mdama had other plans with his own ships and ordered them back to Requiem, thinking the Didact would survive on his mission to Earth.
SatanicBagels
Huh that's a good find you have noticed there. It would have probably been a more satisfying ending if you had to fight your way through hordes of Covenant and Prometheans. Perhaps this is setting up a larger role for Jul 'Mdama in Halo 5. Jul 'Mdama
The Covenant ships that followed the Didact to the station were only small troop transports like phantoms, there wasn't anything major like a cruiser. I'm guessing all of the Covenant's forces that went with the Didact where spent trying to secure the station for the Didact to take the Composer. KellyAwesome
The remaining covenant could have been composed. The game never clarified, but if it worked on humans and prometheans it would probably work on covenant too. Maybe we'll see Promethean Elites in the next game, lol. Church
There were Lich's too. That would also fit in with spartan ops as there is still a formidable covie fleet orbiting requiem.
