Admiral Ackbar
I love what 343 did with the sounds of the game. They completely redid them. Every UNSC weapon sounds better, and not to mention they look a lot better too. The vehicles sound better. They even added random sounds they had no need to add, but that added the icing to the cake. I.E the alarms the vehicles make while they are super weak and on the verge of exploding. The explosions also sound great to. I love the new sounds of Halo. Great job 343.
Lolmenade
The only thing I don't like is the way the warthog sounds. Sounds like a dirt bike.
Admiral Ackbar
Yeah the Warthog sounds too whiny. Not enough power behind it. But overall the sounds are way better.
LiQuid BioniX
I totally agree with you. I'm just gonna say that as soon as I picked up the Plasma Pistol for the first time in campaign and shot a couple of rounds with it, the first words out of my mouth were "Wow, this finally sounds like a real gun!" Admiral Ackbar
Within in the first campaign mission after firing the AR for the first time. I was like "wow this gun sounds awesome". Throughout the campaign I was consistently wowed by the sounds of grenades, weapons, explosions. Just about everything. Phillip Micheal Hanna
I think the Warthog is realistic for the game.It sounds almost like a race car,but less rumble. The Warthog engine is hydrogen injected, its not like its gasoline or diesel.Beam rifle,AR and the Mantis are my favorite sounds in the game for sure. XnosgothX
I was a little worried before the game came out, having gotten used to the Halo sounds (like many of you, I'm sure). But I was pleasantly surprised, too. My sound system has a fairly nice bass kick to it and all of the weapons sound, and consequently feel, much more powerful. The vehicles have improved as well, in my opinion. I know a lot of people aren't happy with the Warthog, but has it ever really sounded like a proper car? I've always thought that the engine sounds were a little... light. It sounds much more raw now, and I've yet to be annoyed by it. Definitely a good move as far as sounds go. The music is another story, though, but that's not related to this thread.
Admiral Ackbar
Agreed. The music isn't the best. I wish there was a way to turn it down in settings. And it can be discussed in this thread. Music is sound..
XnosgothX
Well it's your thread so fair enough. Being new to the forums, I didn't want to go off topic. The music was a bit lacking in my opinion. It was decent enough to carry some of the weight of certain scenes/situations, but always left a slightly underwhelmed feeling. Of course, it could be possible that I've grown so used to Martin's style. Maybe I need to be more open towards this new music.
Admiral Ackbar
I'm still fairly new on here too. But I don't care about the direction of my threads. As long as it's somewhat on the topic of sounds. I mean don't go rambling about the Forge. That's a little too off topic. haha. To me the music was just. It seemed to interfere with the game at times. Clash with the dialogue. And at the points in the game when there was very little action the music would go from really quiet to pretty darn loud.
