*SPOILERS* A question about the story

I'd like to start by stating that I have no hate for this game. It did not completely live up to my expectations, but I enjoyed the story nonetheless. That being said, the recent 4th episode of Spartan Ops raised a question, which I hope some of you can explain to me. I'm a big fan but I will admit this question is a result of playing the story only a few times and having watched the cutscene related to Episode 4 only once. Here goes.

 

In the episode, we see Infinity outside Requiem, hanging still in space. Conversations start, and at one point someone mentions "the Librarian AI Master Chief encountered on Requiem". But does MC not encounter this AI until -after- the Infinity has crash-landed on Requiem? Are they talking about something before it actually happened? I began wondering this a few hours ago and I have not yet had the time to properly research the topic or play through the game again.

 

I apologize if this is a stupid question and if I am absolutely wrong about this. Regardless, if someone could shed some light on this, I would appreciate it. It's possible I have the times completely mixed up and that I am in the wrong.

Spartan Ops happens 6 months after the campaign. Infinity goes back to Requiem to discover some more stuff.
