I think that just showing his eyes is fine to promote the moral of the game. They showed him in a good way and put a lot of reason into taking off the helmet.

they only reveal the yes, and even then most of its blacked out. You have nothing to worry about, plus i LOVED it, it shows he is only human and can die like anyone else

I think they showed his eyes because at the end, Chief was questioning his humanity, and this proved he was more human than machine. But, 343 said in an interview a while ago, that they will never show Chief's face.
