discostu9
Literally %90 of every halo 4 forum here or elsewhere seems to be a laundry list of complaints, and calls for changes. Given this is normal...but halo seems to have taken it to a new level. Even before release countless petitions and postings have come up begging for changes and ranked modes. This is not another one of those. I'm legitimately curious if/what 343 is doing about this? Is there a place where they comment, respond to these? Is there a plan to tweak matchmaking, rankings, etc? Or had 343 had a set plan of dlc and modes for months now, and it will be how it'll be no matter what? Is this like the bungie games of old (changes galore, support for years, eventual ranking, developer relationships with the community?), or is this a modern day hollywood money making venture (copy a formula, put it in stores, generate a profit, the end?) I'm not angry, not trolling, just generously curious what we have here. I'd love a 343 comment, what is the future of this game in relation to A. Community needs / requests B. Set DLC maps, more $, the end C. Profit generated, the end till halo 5?
RedStarRocket91
If you want a comment directly from 343i, you'll need to ask over at the Waypoint forums, as this one doesn't have any direct affiliation with them. That said, they've promised that there'll be a matchmaking update every week, based on playlist populations and map popularity, and that all nine DLC maps were planned in advance to try and cater to different gamemodes and playstyles. They've also said that there will definitely be a classical ranking system introduced at a later date, and initial rankings may or may not be based upon existing stats, depending on what they feel works best. There'll also be multiple seasons of Spartan Ops, to try and keep players who aren't into competitive multiplayer interested. So on the whole, it does seem to me like they're genuinely trying to keep involved with the game, rather than just selling it and then abandoning it.
LiQuid BioniX
There will me constant matchmaking updates. They've already fixed a couple of issues that have to do with the JIP system and people are quieting down about that. I think that week by week it will continue to improve (just like it should) and people will stop complaining and enjoy Halo 4 (because it's fantastic).
