Delpen9
How will this effect master chiefs personality in the future halo games... this has great capability for unexpected plot twists. Will master chief be depressed? Will the game feel darker... sadder maybe? Will master chief put all his energy into getting back cortana? How would he deal with the flood without cortana? Will lasky be important to maintaining master chief's sanity? - unknowns
nofatchicks6920
Well, one thing is certain: Chief won't want another AI companion. At least the way she really went out is better than what I originally thought of. In my version of the Halo 4 campaign (which I wrote in 2010, if you want to see the whole thing let me know, I'll try to find the file), Chief actually destroyed Cortana.
Zuko 'Zarhamee
He'll get over it. It's what Spartans do.
LiQuid BioniX
Honestly, I feel like they're going to play on the sanity of Chief a lot in the next couple of games. Think about the very first scene, where Hallsey is being interrogated. The interrogator brings up the fact that Chief and other Spartans were kidnapped at a young age and that it affects their mind. He also asks the question "Is the Chief so good at what he does because of how he has been raised and how his mind has been changed". I'd say that this is some serious foreshadowing of the future games and how they will show Chief's sanity play out.

I love reading i would probably read through your script in 1 or 2 days so yah i would like to see it if u would let me. just because master chief kills cortana doesnt make it worse than 343's plot. for all i know it could have been a lot more entertaining and emotional. Was it hard for master chief to kill her? Did he feel guilt for killing her? Would he have bad gut feelings about cortana and how she saw the way he killed her? Just imagine being very close to someone but they are forced to kill u- what happens to cortana? wouldn't master chief feel like he betrayed her? The would bring a depressing feeling to the game which i think halo 4 seriously lacks. In my opinion, the depressing feeling from each of the halo's brought life to the game/ a characteristic that could have been improved in the music... and the color tone of the game. nofatchicks6920
@Delplen9 I'll make sure to put it up as soon as I can access the file. And yes, it was very tough for Master Chief to kill her. The only reason he actually went through with it is because she nearly killed 3 other Spartans. But I will make sure to get the script up. I have missions laid out along with a full script and character bios. I'll get it up in the next day or so for you.

PlexVanguard
I think it will test his sanity to the maximum, and yet flush out his humanity. But at the end of halo 6, he will want answers, why he is feeling the way he feels, so he interrogates Halsey (campaign intro scene). Just my take on it. SkItZo1041
Lol shoulda put a spoiler alert for those people who haven't beaten the game. I think Spartan Ops will reveal bits and pieces of whats to come, but Cortana is iconic. I don't think she's done just yet. It's like (and I hate using this analogy) killing off Bella from Twilight. It just won't happen. I think Cortana will be back.
Saint Mudknot
That version of Cortana isnt gone forever. The librarian said she was special like the chief. She did something no other AI has done (entered the physical world). She will be back for sure, how they do it i don know but she will be back
