I have read all the books/played the games, etc. I preface with this because I am well aware of Halsey, her past, what she stands for, etc.

 

That being said, she is being treated horribly at this time and her project "children" are basically being replaced with loud mouths who utterly have no right to carry the name of Spartan (the Irish girl is just horrendous - Spartan Ops). Now then, with Jul'Mdama stating "maybe we can help eachother", with the way she has been treated after her actions did, in fact, save humanity, and the fact that she lost everything to the war, is there a chance she defects and becomes a possible issue?

 

I know it sounds outrageous at first glance (I thought the same), but story wise, she is being put into a terrible position and obviously nobody has her back (except maybe the MC but he is away and I doubt would hold much sway over the scum bag politicians), thus, could she defect to the Storm? I am thinking there is a possibility.

I think Halsey would use Jul' Mdama to get as much information as possible without actually siding with the Storm. Possibly even manipulatively.

Halsey just does what she has to do.

Again, she is being totally ostracized by humanity, her projects are lost, her Spartans were replaced by loud mouth wannabe's and she has nothing to faithfully work on. Not to mention her reputation is that of a criminals and a child abductor. There is certainly a way she would defect, she has nothing else/no reason else to help humanity save the MC/Cortana.
