TRF BaDInTentZs
I really don't like it when you have players that roll into games, be it spartan ops or MM, get 3 kills and then go AFK for the rest of the game and leave it up to the rest of us to get things sorted out but neither is there a way to report it accurately. What this allows is them to get a SR 130, albeit over a longer stretch of time than those of us actually participating .... That's not right. Part of the problem is that win or lose, you still get XP. I've thought it out and while I think the XP way of doing things sux altogether as that is what promotes this kind of behavior, I don't think you should not let the players on the losing end of things have any XP, I believe that to be a bit too severe. What I would certainly like to see is a much improved way of reporting things. Currently I report them under "cheating" which is defined as using methods to influence the outcome of the game. Too much grey area there. Why not simply add a tab in the report menu listing boosting or afk? It seems like that would handle this issue nicely. Here's the link at Waypoint. https://forums.halowaypoint.com/yaf_postsm2062482_XP-Boosting.aspx#post2062482

I'd love to see something like this, perhaps pressing this button could automatically save a copy of the game in Theatre mode as well so that there's video evidence? Great post, BaDInTentZs! Great post, BaDInTentZs! Unfortunately due to the sheer quantity of reports that would be filed from this idea would render the video idea not very feasible. That being said the OP really hit the nail on the head with a sledgehammer with this thread.
TRF BaDInTentZs
Thanx folks but please go to Waypoint and vote!! Don't know if it will do any good but at least it's on the proper forums then.
LiQuid BioniX
Just went and did it. I'd love to see those people punished, although wrecking an SR-130 because they boost is pretty satisfying...
Saint Mudknot
I dont find level relative at all to anything, i think all perks unlocked after 50 are just as balanced as the ones before. So if thats how they do it thats fine, 343 has been good a weeding out the bigger boosters. However i feel if the system existed if someone had to say use the bathroom they could risk being reported, or answering the door. I dont think its fair and there should just be an afk kicker if anything. If someone is going to sit there to make sure they arent booted they will more likely still play the game. N1AK
Firstly, you do actually get something for getting to 130SR (the perks for all the specialisations that you don't have at 50). That said boosting is all the more annoying because if they simply played they'd get there virtually as fast without annoying people. Secondly, generally when companies bother taking notice of cheating/****** playing they don't ban etc someone for one report. They look at what the average number of reports is for a legit player and then add a safe margin. Perhaps a legit player gets reported for AFKing once in 3 games so they set the limit at 1 in 10 games etc. Thing is OP already summed it up, the best solution is remove the reward. Personally I would give points as: > Play match 500pts > Bonus Points earnt > Kills x 25pts > (Kills - Deaths) x 50pts > In objective games lower kill points and add multipliers on objective medals. As it is I see two frustrating kinds of point grab behaviour: Players AFKing and players who play suicidally in team games getting lots of kills and even more deaths; I assume the logic is that more kills = more medals thus more xp which is frustrating for players who manage to keep a positive ratio and are rewarded with less xp.
TRF BaDInTentZs
IMO, the best thing to do is get rid of the XP system altogether, go back to MM and Campaign cheevos to accomplish the unlocks.Don't reset anyone for what they already have, that would be horribly unfair and frankly it's probably too late to do this for this game. Hopefully, if H5 comes around, they'll consider this.
