Thank you sir for the private message. That was uncalled for and totally appropriate. Nobody made you care about another forum member much less one that you don't normally agree with but you did anyway. And I wanted the public to know how stand up and awesome that really is.

 

Now. Lets talk matchmaking. To do good on MY part. I thought I'd bring us full circle. My original expectations when joining the forums was to play Halo with like minded individuals. My brother is a PC guy. He works for some Fortune 500 company as their IT guy. Way smarter than I am. I'm an Army mechanic. (91B). He's always bragging about STEAM and the close knit friends he makes on PC that I don't get because I'm a console gamer. I was so eager to prove him wrong that I joined... 343i fan forums.

 

It was rough at first. I didn't know how to talk to people especially gamers online. They are rough to say the least. Then it got easier. Final Sentence even took the time to train up in a dojo on my behalf in response to a thread I wrote about my lack of skill. Lol. I realized how to voice my opinion without coming off like a total tool. But after ALL the arguing and bickering and debates it made me realize I have nothing in common with any of y'all. Least not the influx since November 6th, 2012.

 

So this is me trying to get back to my roots. Thanks to Bloody Initiate. Thanks man. Seriously.

 

Lets talk War Games. What makes it good? This is strictly positive talk so if you don't care for it, argue it in another thread. I need a breath of fresh air and to be reminded why the community is one I cherish and love. I also need some reminding of why on earth war games means so much to so many people.

 

Lets lift the old spirits. Thanks again y'all.

Good stuff. I always enjoy just goofing around when I'm running around with my online pals. We're a tough group to beat and so lots of times we'll just goof off and see how much goofy crap we can do and still get away with it.

Change of pace is nice here.

 

As soon as Reach debuted the DMR, I longed for the day when we would have DMR vs BR. Now that that day is here... It's great! Of course people are going to bicker about which one is better, or how much one needs to be nerfed, making them perfectly equal would be neigh impossible. After-all, right now they are basically equal in terms of shots, but look at all the concerned Halo fans arguing every second.

 

I have my complains with H4, but all in all, it's a good time for Halo.

My biased with the boltshot aside I tend to agree with all your points.

 

Unfortuneatly only one of my friends has an xbox 360 and still plays halo games from the halo 2 era....sigh ><

 

Here's things that I LOVE about halo 4:

 

Sprint has been intergrated instead of an armor ability. This is a good change from halo reach. I would perfer NO sprint and faster spartans but this is good.

 

The guns and how they sound, despite my constant bitching about the boltshot I really enjoy the guns in this one.

 

The melee system is how it should be! Gone is the terrible melee system of shield thesholds from reach and bleed through mechanics have been restored. (this got fixed in reach at least).

 

When you're having fun online, it FEELS like a halo title.

 

And I have a million times more fun in this then I did with halo reach. I really didn't like the maps most of all in that game.

I'm flattered you thought I deserved a thread, although it was a bit weird to see a topic with my name. I thought the forums were glitching.

 

Good things about War Games... I have a lot of things:

 

I like that the full arsenal of vehicles in Halo 4 debuted at the same time as Halo 4. We got a map with a Gauss Hog and a Scorpion, a map with a Rocket Hog and a Wraith, two with a Banshee, and my beloved Mantis!

 

I love Promethean Vision. I get such a kick out of seeing exactly where people are and what they're wielding AND THEN telling my teammates! That way my teammates can run whatever AAs they want and I have a ton of information to call out. I'm actually really hoping to see a shotgun or boltshot around a corner one day and then tell my hardlight shield teammate to go in after him.

 

I really like the DMR. It's a seriously reliable rifle, and that is what makes a good rifle even IRL. It occurred to me the pistol in Halo CE's biggest problem wasn't that it was too good, it was that something has to fill that void of mid-range combat. Both Bungie and 343 understand this and so in every game since we have had a reliable mid-range weapon. Even in ODST we had that badass little pistol that could headshot grunts and jackals so we could save bigger ammo for tougher foes.

 

I like the Promethean Weapons. I like how they're all just slightly unusual and have unique features when compared to their human and forerunner counterparts.

 

I like sprinting, and I like respawning instantly. I like that the motion tracker shows me clearly when someone is on a different elevation. They all change the game quite a bit, but it feels good that the first two are optional. You can play faster if you want, but you also have the choice to slow down (Might be good idea btw, I found myself playing better when I sprinted less)

 

Solace is a good map, I didn't like Abandon at first but it's grown on me, Complex can be ridiculously fun for a ghost if no one packs a plasma pistol, especially in objective games. Haven is also a good map but people love that one already. Bringing back Valhalla is one of the few times I've been 100% in favor of a map returning. Best map in the history of Halo.
