jrobforever
Really need some help. I have clear the hard drive cache. Reinstalled the game to no avail. Switched discs and each time the Microsoft logo pops up, it freezes. Even tired booting up game without hard drive attached. Please help. Xbox 360 old model(it was a arcade model purchased Fall of 2008). All other games work flawlessly besides Halo 4.
nofatchicks6920
My Xbox 360 was purchased in 2006 and I have no problems. Did you check the discs for any damage by any chance?

How the hell has your 360 lasted this long? What sort of arcane ritual did you perform?
nofatchicks6920
How the hell has your 360 lasted this long? What sort of arcane ritual did you perform? Well, it did overheat once and I had to send it in to MS (that was five years ago, though). Honestly, I just take good care of it. Seeing as how consoles these days can't take much damage before they break, I've mostly kept in in one spot, on the TV stand in my living room, and I also keep the air around it well ventilated (learned that one the hard way). Too many people are dumb enough to think that they can drop their Xbox down the stairs and expect it to work. Okay, I kind of exaggerated there, but you get the point. People overestimate the durability of these consoles. Seriously, I once dropped my SNES down a set of concrete stairs and it worked fine. My friend dropped his brand new PS3 a foot and a half on to a wooden floor and it breaks.

pkmaximum
My original xbox too stopped reading HALO 4, and even started scratching any disc I put into the console subsequent HALO 4. I don't know if HALO had anything to do with it, but I purchased a new xbox. I doubt there is really much you can do about it to be honest, but good luck. ProudDrunkIrish
You need a minimum 8gb HD space for H4 to work so the 4GB arcade will not run it unless you get extra memory. Also if it is disks next time install the game on the HD/memory and then even if the disk is unreadable for play it will still play off the HD as it can still recognise its a H4 disk despite being unreadable, (this also means less disk spinning so less damage to future disks) Just lost my old xbox 2 weeks ago lasted from 2006 what a truper, survuved beer, drops and all sorts of damage but finally succumbed the RRod, it is a very sad time I miss the hum of the fans lol this new one has no character....
