Popular Post The Director
Hello everyone. Most of you know not to repeatedly bump threads, as it is frowned upon and could lead to some pretty crappy consequences. Staff Response This subforum is for clan advertising and recruitment purposes only. Any other advertisements will be removed and disciplinary action may be taken. In light of some recent threads getting some attention, I have decided to make this thread for the new members who don't know any better. Many of you know the policy on spamming/flooding extends to the bumping of threads, and as such any thread bumps are considered fair game for such things as warning points and post deletion. The bumping of threads is not a serious concern amongst other parts of the forum, because the temptation to bump is offset by the rules regarding it. However, in this particular sub-forum (i.e. the Clan Recruiting/Advertising) the temptation is all too strong. This is mainly in part because of the slight competitive nature of recruiting new clan members. So, let's go over some don'ts about posting in this sub-forum. 1. Do not "bump" threads.2. Do not post on a thread unless you are interested in joining the clan, wanting more information on the clan, would like to challenge the clan to a clan battle, or (if they ask for it) have a suggestion on how to make the clan better.3. Do not spam links to your thread (or someone else's thread) in another clan's thread.4. Do not try to take over another clan's thread for your own recruitment purposes.5. Do not open more than one recruitment topic for any individual clan in a six-month period. 6. All recruitment posts must include the name of the clan being advertised in their title. Topics about searching for a clan obviously do not have this restriction. 7. This is a clan recruitment forum. We do not allow links to other gaming websites or communities, as per global rule 1F.You may post a link to your thread in your status or in the shoutbox, as long as you do not flood/spam the link. You may also post the link in your signature or "About Me".These are pretty self explanatory rules, and that is why they are not included in the general rules. In case you do not understand the reasons for these rules, I will now explain them.1. Bumping your thread (or someone elses) makes the thread look unprofessional, and buries other threads. There is also the potential that if you bump, someone else may bump, and then you'll have to bump again, creating a "bump battle". This would lead to both threads getting locked and the members involved being punished, and the only ones who want that are the hammers.2. This is covered with the rule against flooding/spamming.3. This is to prevent that from happening to you as well, creating some bad blood and drama that really isn't needed.4. Same as above.5. This is to prevent the sub-forum from filling up with same-post threads that are useless and make everyone look bad. 6. This is to help players identify clans, and to enable us to moderate more effectively by discovering and dealing with spam clans in a timely manner. 7. Please review our rules page for more information. Edited September 4, 2015 by RedStarRocket91 Updated to latest rules.
