Cassandra Saturn
got question for yall. would you believe that the President of United States has cut off the power bill off the National Housing Payment Plan (NHPP) and by that action, he has brought everyone a pain-free relief from the bills to be stacked with the power bill. this means Free Power for everyone's homes and stores Nationwide this is only theory/what-ifs/idea

SatanicBagels
..... *no comment* He's completely right though. Not to say we could have one in each of our homes but nuclear energy would probably be our best option right now. That is until they develop a clean energy source that is economically feasible and plentiful. Which in all reality probably hasn't been developed yet. SatanicBagels
do you guys realize how dangerous Nuclear fission is really? it's so bad that even slightest mishap can blow whole country to kindom come. so i would say no. There are 435 nuclear power plants world-wide in over 35 different countries. There have been 3 mishaps over the years. One was Three Mile Island where the safety measures came into effect and prevented any loss of life whatsoever (exactly as they are supposed to). Another was Chernobyl which was an innevitable result of bad managment, design, and secrecy at the hands of a communist government with no regard for human life or safety. Another was ***ushima in Japan which was a tragedy, and the most important to the anti-nuclear energy argument, but it could have likely been prevented had the NISA realized the threat of a large tsunami sticking. (considering the region they are in they should have) As of the possibility of a nuclear reactor exploding I will simply state that that is not possible. I don't care to list all the facts behind this justification but I will leave a link at the bottom of this post to a site that explains it perfectly. Most people hear meltdown and they think explosion. That is simply not the case. In all regards Meltdowns, given the correct safety measures, are far more controllable and stoppable. http://io9.com/5782349/why-a-nuclear-reactor-will-never-become-a-bomb
SykoWolf
Australia doesn't touch nuclear energy, however, i dont have an issue with it personally, so long as it is handled correctly and safety measures are put in

The waste generated can be used for making things such as Lunar Exploration Vehicles. The fuel is everywhere and there are breeder reactors which generate more fuel than you put in. There is also Nuclear Fusion which is using Deuterium to bond 2 Hydrogen atoms to create Helium... It gives A LOT more power and the fuel can be made from water! If we completely switch over from fossil fuels to clean energy or nuclear energy we would do more harm than good. The economy certainly could not handle that, you would be puttimg way more people out of work. Granted its better for our future but lets face it our government is selfish and will make decisions based on what best for today
