SykoWolf
The following is from the Australian Financial Review. It talks about how Microsoft has hired Blake Krikorian to make the Xbox a household item... "Microsoft said on Thursday it hired technology entrepreneur Blake Krikorian to help run its Interactive Entertainment Business as the world's largest software company plans bigger things for its Xbox gaming console" "Krikorian will be corporate vice president for the Interactive Entertainment Business, reporting to Marc Whitten, chief product officer for the division, Microsoft added" "Microsoft is trying to transform Xbox from a gaming device into a broader service that controls most aspects of home entertainment, including music, movies, TV and sports" Blake Krikorian is the creator of an app that allows people to control home appliances from their phone. (The app is linked to the Crestron home automation system and allows users to control features such as lighting and heating wirelessly) Syko's Note: So basically Microsoft wants to get the most out of the current Generation Xbox, maybe earn some more money on the side, especially after PS3 took the top sales spot early this year. This could also mean they may be trying something new out, a trial run incase they plan to incorporate such design features in the next Xbox which is slated for release Late this year, early next year. Twinreaper
This how Skynet started.....lol. But on a serious note, it is going to take a whole lot of legal work to incorporate or go about planning how the xbox of any version will be ablebto provide cable like tv services or movie services standalone. And quite honestly I dont see tue point of useless apps that control yousehold devices. Its called a remote. It takes more time to go to the app and load it then it does to reach over and grab the remote. Silly apps fornsilly people = fail xbox investment.
