Specializations Unlocked, New Map Pack and Playlists

"343 Industries has been on vacation with the holidays but they returned Wednesday with news on what's coming up for "Halo 4" in the next couple of months. This includes weekly Spartan Ops and multiplayer playlists updates plus the long awaited Specialization unlocks. There's also a title update planned to come along with the Majestic map pack.

 

The "Halo 4 Infinity Challenge" still has a couple of weeks to run but season one of Spartan Ops and the multiplayer playlist updates will return to their regularly scheduled Monday updates starting on Jan. 21. This will also be the first week that Specialization will start unlocking for everyone with the Pioneer and the Pathfinder Specializations on the docket first. Grifball will finally be making an appearance in the playlist rotation as well.

 

The Majestic map pack is coming in February for "Halo 4" with two small maps and one medium-sized map. A leak previously dated the DLC for a Feb. 25 release and that's when we expect the new Title Update mentioned by 343 Industries will come as well. Details of what's being fixed, added or changed have not been revealed.

Week of 1/21

Spartan Ops Episode 6: Five new missions and an accompanying new CG cinematic.

"Forge Test" playlist (name not final): A rotational hopper featuring small Forge maps such as Relay. Help us test these maps by providing feedback and reporting bugs that will assist us in getting them ready for Matchmaking!

Specializations: Pioneer and Pathfinder Specializations unlocked for all players.

 

Week of 1/28

Spartan Ops Episode 7: Five new missions and an accompanying new CG cinematic.

Grifball playlist: A rotational hopper featuring everybody’s favorite virtual sport. Catch the disease!

Specializations: Engineer and Stalker Specializations unlocked for all players.

 

Week of 2/4

Spartan Ops Episode 8: Five new missions and an accompanying new CG cinematic.

Team Doubles playlist: A rotational hopper for those of you that like action of the 2 vs 2 variety.

Specializations: Rogue and Tracker Specializations unlocked for all players"

 

I don't know if this has been posted in a different forum. Either way it was news to me when I read it and should be welcome news to anyone who is stuck at SR70 or is looking for more maps and playlists to break the monotony of gameplay as of late.

I hope all of this is true although it sucks we have to wait till the 21st for anything. Very glad we finally have dates for Grifball and Team Doubles. These are two playlists I've been waiting a lot time for. And it's about time the forge maps are finally put into rotation as well. The Crimson DLC playlist is all but dead so it'll be nice to get more maps added. This game is good but, 343i has been taking a while to address big problems and the desires of the community.
