THQ gone for good.

THQ Goes Bankrupt

The popular publisher THQ is breaking apart, and closing down shop. They are selling off the rights to the games that they publish, including Darksiders, Homefront, Volition and Saints Row, Metro, and The Company of Heroes.

This will cause sequels to much anticipated games to be pushed back as the new publishers and devs as they (hopefully) continue on where THQ left off, and will leave some of the people who worked for THQ looking for new jobs. Most employees of THQ who are working under the franchises that are being bought are said to be being offered jobs with the companies buying them, however.

THQ (Toy Head Quarters), who was responsible for Saints Row, Frontline, Red Faction, and many other popular games has been around for over 23 years. It is assured that the impact of it closing it's doors will be felt throughout the gaming community.

In semi-related news, Homefront II is now rumored TBA 2014.

I never had found much appeal on THQ, but it's a very harsh story to hear. Without doubt this will affect gaming history for a good time.

Yeah, it will, definitely. Considering the titles it owns, yep. But, heck, it's happening, and it won't change.

you lucky one, i really wanted that too but i couldn't afford it

Heh, it was my birthday when it came out, so I pulled together some extra money from that to pre order it.

Good. Hopefully someone will make a WWE game with half-decent sound design. Nothing more annoying than hearing the announcer go, "He is going for the Ladder", every time I pick up up a sledge hammer. Or having them talk about belts that are not even relevant in matches.

I am sure someone can make some better MXvsATV games too.
