SKULLS

Skulls weren’t always a part of the Halo series, having only been introduced in Halo 2. These hidden objects serve to modify basic gameplay. Once activated, these skulls can make the game more challenging by altering it significantly.

In Halo 2 and in Halo 3, you had to first find these skulls within the games’ single player campaign to unlock them in order to use them. Like Halo Reach, you won’t have to do that this time around, as they’ll all be available for you to use at the start. It might be super disappointing to know that there are absolutely no new skulls available in Halo 4—not even ones like the Grunt Funeral skull from Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary.

Indeed, they’re not even really “skulls”, but rather mods that you can flip on and off like in Reach and ODST. We can’t imagine that hiding these little skulls around in the single-player campaign would’ve been that hard to do, but we’ll take what we can get.

Fortunately for the achievement hunters among us, the 343 Industries was more than happy to scatter the single-player campaign with numerous Terminals to scratch that particular itch. That’s in addition to other secrets, of course, but we’ll have to come back to that later. If you’re keen on finding the Terminals, we’ve prepared a guide for that here.

Back to the skulls: it’s good to know that the Cloud skull from Halo: Reach (similar to the Fog skull in Halo 3) made it into the Halo 4, so if hunting blind is something you’re keen on, be sure to enable it.

TERMINALS

Now that Halo 4 is out and available for everyone to play, some of you might need help in finding the Terminals scatter throughout Halo 4's single-player campaign. Just in case Halo 4 is your first Halo game, you should know that Terminals serve to fill you in on the series' backstory. Additionally, the Terminals are a continuation of the "Iris" game used as a viral marketing tool by Microsoft for Halo 3.

So why do you even need to care? Well, not only will these Terminals offer more insight into the game's story and lore, it will also net you Achievements -- and we know just much gamers these day love 'Cheevos.

For those wondering, here are the two Achievements you can earn in the game that are tied-in to Terminals:

Contact the Domain (10G) — Find a Terminal in the Campaign.

Terminus” (50G) — Find all of the Terminals in the Campaign.

Indeed, getting all seven Terminals in Halo 4's campaign will net you a hefty 50G. Fortunately, Terminals can be collected regardless of the difficulty mode you're playing on.

Without further ado, here's how to get each Terminal in Halo 4 and in chronological order.

Terminal 1 - Requiem

Terminal 2 - Forerunner

Terminal 3 - Infinity

Terminal 4 - Reclaimer

Terminal 5 - Shutdown

Terminal 6 - Composer

Terminal 7 - Midnight

There you go. Hopefully, you can watch these videos before completing your first playthrough so you can get all of them in one go. Also of note, while the game has seven Terminals now, that doesn't mean 343 wont' add more in the future, as the studio has done that before.

Are you going after all the Terminalsor you couldn't care less? If you choose the former, hopefully, this guide will be a big help.

Composer’s location is compromised... by a bunch of dancing grunts.

Halo 4 Collectors Box

There’s a collector’s edition of Halo 4 located in the Dawn. It looks exactly like the one you purchased.

There's a few more that you missed out on ;

  • On the mission Requiem , in the cartographer room and near the center , there is a cylindrical object that can be interacted with. This is the description of the Mantle.
  • On the mission Composer there is a gold grenade that can be found ,
     video.
  • On the same mission , in the room where you fight the Hunters and just before you meet up with Doctor Tillson , there are several test tubes that can be easily missed but they can be interacted with. There are a total of 4 tubes.
