Idea for halo sequel

First of all I am a fan of halo and have been for many years. My favourite enemy has always been the flood. Unfortunately everyone else seems to disagree, I was very disappointed when halo 4 did not feature the flood. The infection mode was not enough for me. So I personally think a flood sequel available as an XBLA game for £10\10$ would be appropriate. It would probably be more likely to be DLC if it were to be though.

 

Anyway, the story is set after the events of Requiem with UNSC infinity. The infinity comes across another planet one possibly worse than Requiem... the fricking flood home world. UNSC is then invaded by flood which leaves a group of Spartans/ODSTs to save infinity and destroy the new gravemind. Obviously they win and everybody lives happily ever after.

 

You play as this Spartan in a mini-campaign against the flood. There would be a flood firefight mode as well and possibly an improved online matchmaking game mode.

 

If this came out I would definitely smile till the end of my days. It's quite far fetched though. I think that making a flood firefight dlc for halo 4 would be a good move and would sell very well.

 

What do you think? Does anyone else there like the flood more than covenant and forerunner?

i do think your ideas sound cool, but some minor things dont seem extremely realistic

 

first of all, i dont think the UNSC utilizes ODSTs from the infinity as we have seen in halo 4. No ODST AIs or armor in the game at all, but there is always a chance of their return. I won't doubt they return at some point. I do think halo 5 will revolve around the story of the flood and precursors. Halo 4 went back in to the history of the forerunners and their legacy, so it would seem logical to go back to history of the precursors. If you dont know who the precursors are, i would reccomend reading some of the novels in the Forerunner Saga. I have heard  that halo 5 will be the "darkest" halo game, so it's very likely that the flood will be involved.

 

and if we get lucky, we may end up with a flood firefight  . but its all just a wish so far. I'm not sure if spartan ops will continue into the sequel, or if they will bring firefight back

I gotta agree with Victory on this one. I also think that your idea can be thought out a little more.

There isn't a flood 'Homeworld'.

 

They (as far as we know) were engineered by Precursors outside the galaxy and released as a ship contains fine powder. Humans and Prophets used this as beauty powder, but after a few millennia; the pets began growing tumours and growths and became vicious. Then blah blah, human vs forerunner, forerunner vs flood Halo.

 

My only way to have what you want'in lore' would be an example of say... Installation 1,2,6 or 7. It has fallen INTO a planet and crashed, releasing spores or something like that. The only true home world either doesn't exist or is in another galaxy.

 

 

I would enjoy a flood return though. Especially in firefight.(I hate firefight, flood would be fun)
