SM295
So here's an idea: why not have at the start of Halo 5 the Infinity crash-landing on a Covenant-occupied Forerunner planet, and the Spartans have to survive long enough to get off it? It could pave the way for many new gameplay mechanics, such as repair of vehicles, stationary shield generators (kinda like Halo 3's bubble shield, but with a bigger radius and completely stationary, already deployed), and maybe custom personalisation of loadout weapons? (Custom skins, modifying the screens and scope looks, etc

SM295
Sort of, but I mean it'd be like a long-term thing, where you build up a camp, maybe get some of your friends into your camp, find weapons and vehicles, and eventually maybe escape. wildfire C
so like a iving world mincraft sort of thing?
SM295
Yeah, something like that
wildfire C
ok so just my thinking here each individual player has a world that they can invite othrs or make it an open world for others to join, and random spawning covvie groups that will evntually track down your camp and make u move
SM295
That's probably a great idea. Although it doesn't give you random encounters with other Spartans. Maybe have your own little bit of land to forge something, but you have to find it?
ForgeMonitor
Destiny is the game for you.
SM295
I'm grabbing it as soon as it comes out I hope to be SR-130 by then as well
wildfire C
Destiny is the game for you. I did not think of that, even though i am getting it
Victory Element
Um... that whole plot is literally what happened in halo
SM295
Not really. What I'm talking about is setting up camp, gathering supplies, etc.
Victory Element
I can understand that you are looking for new elements of gameplay, but the plot was exactly what happened in halo 4. Infinity crashes on forerunner shield world that is occupied by the covenant. UNSC had to fight off attackers and buy time to escape
SM295
Yeah, but in this case it's about actually surviving, not just fighting. It'll also be for a much greater period of time. And besides, you can never crash a massive ship too many times.
BearClawsKiller
Well this is interesting but kinda of a weird way to start a Halo game...
BaconShelf
Really? After PoA, Infinity and FuD, I am kinda bored of crashing ships. It's getting waaaaay unoriginal know.
wildfire C
Well i cant talk for Sm395 but im thinking a small scout ship, which is broken into many pieces and scattered all over the planet/Continent and we have a choice of how to prepare ourselves and the other survivors, AI troops or other players, building shelter and defenses moving day to day looking for a way to contact the UNSC and that sort of stuff
SM295
That's exactly what I was thinking of, wildfire

TheHitmanBOSS47
Survival (Flood) THERE HAS GOT TO BE A SURVIVAL FIREFIGHT MODE IN HALO 5 BUT WITH FLOOD! PLAYERS SURVIVE COUNTLESS WAVES OF FLOOD WITH INCREASING DIFFICULTY AND NUMBERS. PERIOD
Sadly Just AL
I would be interested to see that be implemented.
