Halo reach has more players, and Halo 3 nearly as many.

I just did some quick sums about 10 minutes ago, I found that Halo 4 has about 7000 people in its MM playlists, Halo Reach about 8500, and Halo 3 about 5000.

And this is definitely Matchmaking, because I went to each individual playlist, saw how many people were in the playlists and added up the total.

Its kind of sad when the older Halo games have nearly as many or more players on matchmaking than the new game that's only 4 months old...

I have been playing Halo 3 pretty regularly last week and I wish they had at least 5,000 on. Must be my luck.

Not many people like Halo 4. That's their decision, I like Halo 4, but that doesn't mean I play it all the time. Not everyone is on in the U.S. at 7:00 AM, when you posted this, playing Halo 4. Plus, it's a week day, which would have less players. Therefore, there are reasons why there aren't that many.

True enough that its a week day, but if it was a weekend, its nearly certain that the ratios of players wouldn't change by any large amount...

The time I took these player counts was about the AUS-USA transition time, just after most Aussies have gone to bed, but before the American people come online.

They would change by a large amount if you checked at a different time of the same day im from uk if I play in a morning thats about the figure because I assume the biggest fan base is the U.S theres a massive difference if you check at say 9:00pm gmt because at that time a bigger amount of people are awake across the globe:-/ now check on saturday night and theres way over 50000 now I know it should be more but thats fine for me, I say if you don't like halo 4 and 3 is the almighty go back and play it

Well first.. Your sums can't be exactly near as accurate because there's always going to be a "rush hour." You have to have data over a long period of time checks to be as near correct. Second Reach was awesome anyways!
