Sierra 117 v. 2
Seriously guys? Why'd you kill cortana? I know its for the halo business and stuff but why man? Its like you took the milk from the cookies, the soul in the body. If youre gonna make halo 5 (which i hope you do) let cortana live again like make a forerunner structure where there all the used AI's are cuz she did say she's home then MC gonna get her from there because they have to fight the covenant or stuff just dont let cortana die. No, putting her memories and data and files in another cortana AI's system would bring the REAL Cortana back. Thats what i think. But overall, great game, great graphics, But BAD ENDING. Is not JL
1. Not 343's forum 2. They probably didn't kill her 3. Nobody is stupid enough to take a character vital to the series, FINALLY give some character development, then kill her off. 4. Great ending, because there's CD!!!! I Mendicant Bias
The entire point of killing cortana off is so chief would be forced to talk with actual humans. Cortana is the only being outside of his spartans that john TALKS to, johnson doesn't even compare to the relationships he should be having with other humans. 27 years fighting for humanity and he doesn't even know how to hold the most basic conversations because he does all of that with cortana. If he needs back up cortana calls for it, Cortana asks all the questions does all the planning, everything. Without her he will have to ASK others for these things and rely on them. Do you want to see how the great chief acts without cortana? Read "The Flood", he seriously found himself "talking" to noone because he was so used to cortana being there all the time. He almost got killed several times because he was used to cortana watching his back, he even started freaking out because he did not have cortana. So if 343 wants to humanize john then getting rid of cortana is the best way to do so.
AnimeAddict
dude i know it hurts but it would go against the lore that bungie has set together AI constructs are suppose to last 7 years she lasted another year on top of that before going into rampancy
Winterfeuer91
To be honest, She told John "He" was home not her. And besides this is the Forerunner Trilogy so what do you think? And if they did have Cortana in Halo 5 she would have been worse than she was in both 3 and 4. She had already scattered herself when she was in the Didact's ship to the point that she couldn't pull herself together.

No one. Besides, Cortana was basically a construct of duct tape, space magic and unreal-ness. Glad to see no Cortana.

Good point. Loki and Mack were really old (although they sorta switched out between being in JOTUNs and being in the AI core on Harvest). I Mendicant Bias
Well it still stands though. they were over 100 years old and were more or less fine. If anything i say AI's go rampant after 7 years because they are told they will.
тυcкєя
Agreed she should come back. But, that is highly impossible. All of us (mostly) have saw how she died. She cant come back unless they have like a story behind it. That would have to be pretty detailed, they can manage it but, im just saying that it is not the greatest choice. BeckoningZebra1
343 will most likely at the end of Halo 5 give Master Chief the option to bring back Cortana but doing that would also revive the Didact (just so we can have a good story). Then Halo 6 Would be about Destroying the Didact for good. If not that it could possibly be that at the beginning of Halo 5, someone (maybe Dr. Halsey) realizes that Cortana obtained valuable information (which is yet to be disclosed but will most likely be for the survival of mankind or weaponry that could benefit the UNSC) and is tampering with stuff and releases Cortana and the Didact. Then Halo 5 would be about Rescuing Cortana and Halo 6 about stopping/destroying the Didact. Then another possibility is that Cortana doesn't come back( ) then 343 would be able to decide their own storyline.

Is not JL
Character Development for everyone, woohoo! Still, I don't think Cortana will be gone for good.
GruntNoober
Yeah, I think she is dead as well, I didn't really like her in the Halo series anyway, it was all about the Chief.
