Tempest Larceny is a Halo 4 machinima currently in the stages of finalizing planning and looking for voice actors and body actors. It is planned to be an epicomedy.

For voice actors, anyone is welcome to apply but not everyone will be voicing the main characters. If you wish to voice but don't get in, don't fret; there are other characters you need the voice. The one thing I ask for is this - if you are a squeaker, you're gonna need a reaaaal good reason why a 10 year old in in an unsanctioned UNSC base.

How will you submit AND voice to me? Simple. For submission, I will provide exact lines I want YOU to say for the character you want to be, and you will record it in a voice reel. (Using a sound editing program, record one version of you doing one speech your character does, do it till satisfied, stop recording when need to, start recording again. Export as one large file.) Then sent it to this email, which is just retarded but its the one I have access to instantly.

Please don't have a crappy mic, and don't have any pops in your recording. You should play it back; if it sounds like it has pops, background noise or sounds bad, re-record, maybe with your mic a bit farther from your mic. I don't want a whole lot of background gain.

 

I'll be picking people by not just the quality of their mic but also the quality of their speech. Do they capture the attitude of the character well? Are they suited for playing this character? Even better, are they, like RDJ for Tony Stark, having the exact same feel that the character needs?

Add some emotion, some contrast in what you say. Don't read it like a book, read it like you're in the situation it dictates. If you can't rack your brain to put yourself in the shoes of your character and don't find the situation or anything about the character relating to you....don't do the character. There'll be parts that might sound better if I had scripted it with caps lock on. You are responsible for making it sound better. I want the best voice actors for their characters, and I think I'm allowed for that.

Note1: Only Taciturn is possibly female. This depends on if a female VA does the words better than a male VA.

Note2: The name in quotes is their codename, the one they'll be referred to the most in the machinima.

 

"Stormer", Named by actor choice

Protagonist

Armor: Actor Choice, must be unique

Personality: Reliant and friendly to his A.I., he is the type of veteran at his job who isn't all 'grizzled' and 'battle hardened'. Still, he doesn't have a second thought in harming others if they are in the way of what he wants.

Development through story: Slowly, he'll realize what he's doing wrong, how immoral it is, and change thanks to the ‘Journalist'. The loss of his AI will set him into a depression where he realizes that he can't complete much without him, until the revelation that he can make much more human choices.

Submission script: "Hold up. You were deceiving us this whole time? I wasted blood, sweat and some other guy's car for nothing??", "Taciturn, you take the elevator down. The big one. Max, give the tech. Dex, run sims for our plan and relay any and all uncounted variables to my HUD."

 

"Journalist", Named Andrew.

Support Character

Armor: Actor choice, must be unique

Personality: Young and upfront, he is direct about his ideals and not afraid to stand up to the, but doesn't realize the consequences until too late.

Submission script: "You, you just can't waste people's lives just because you want something! Whether it's moral or not, whether it's important or not, you can't go around for the sake of going around much like how my mom shouldn't waste money because she wanted to buy stuff!" "Uh, no. I don't live with my mom. Oh, and by the way, the car you blew up just to jump on. That, that was my spacebook's friends car."

 

'AI', named Dex [Taken by Jl1223 X]

Support character.

No Armor

Personality: Helpful, capable but too full of the sense of duty, even though he is a good friend of Stormer's in the end his goal is to help achieve what Stormer commanded and not what he wants.

Submission script: "Calculated that at this height, Taciturn has an 11.25% chance of not dying, a 3% chance of surviving with minimal injuries, an 82.95% chance of death upon impact, a 0.69% chance of death by the ventilation systems failing and Tac vomiting into himself due to terminal velocity and added variables of any form of death to take up the remaining percentages." "Good....bye....sir. I hope I....helped."

 

'Zudo', named Wallace

Support Character

Armor: Actor choice, must be unique

Personality: The ordnance-man of the team, he loves big booms and big weapons. He'll be carrying a turret, a rocket launcher, a sticky detonator, grenades, whatever. He is jolly, and not afraid to crack jokes no matter where they are.

Submission Script: "Hehehe! Rocket launcher, Turret, Grenades, The little red dot gun, what else am I missing? Oh, yes. The ordnance pod itself." "Hello, sir. This is my turret, anderson. He is my personal internet hotspot thingy. If I press this button, it can teach me exactly what your body armor's weakness is. And if I - oh, wait. That's an advert. And that's a lady with a thong."

 

'Taciturn', named Jake/Alice.

Support Character

Armor: Actor choice, must have 1 color be black.

Personality: The infiltration specialist of the team, he/she is silent, relying on deadly tactics against his/her enemies. He/she only talks about things if he needs to, but can definitely be relied on if need be.

Submission text: "Yes sir." "No, sir. That won't be necessary. I'll be jumping forwards. With Dex, I can time it so I'll enter the facility silently and behind everyone."

 

'Max', named Max.

Support Character

Armor: Actor choice

Personality: The man who can organize things, he is a capable shooter but favors being at the back, concentrating on making sure everything works and nobody dies, being able to factor in any new info and any inconsistencies and chances to formulate the best plan available and capable of fluctuation. He doesn't always love cracking jokes, being very serious.

Submission text: "Sir, Tac has taken the sonar devices. She's placed them all. We now have a map of the whole facility." "Would you like me to join you? There's an off chance that the device won't be at the predicted locale. I can help you find it, and take out whoever's in the way."

 

 

Antagonists and enemies

 

"Vector", named Zachariah

Main Antagonist

Armor: Actor choice

Personality: Leader, definitive, and respective yet demanding to his henchmen. He is not that great of a fighter, but his ability to plan ahead probably beats Max's skill. Vector's only weakness is his arrogance, and even that he knows. During the first part of the machinima he is an 'ally' but is revealed to be the baddie later on.

Submission text: "Yes, yes. I did deceive you. I wanted the tech because of the fortune. I promised you an extra because I knew you would want it badly enough to ensure success. And now that I have it, I have also ensured that you can't succeed again. So....how do you want to leave? By yourself, or by me?" "No! You can't do anything! Anything! How....how did you get here?"

 

"Zeed"

He's just that guy who Stormer has to fight alone while the battle rages around them.

Armor: Actor choice

Personality: Gives his respect and credit where it is due, but other than that, he is a cheater, fighter, and selfish. He goes for the money, not anything else.

Submission text: "You can't defeat me even if you had 10 soldiers supporting you and that little AI of yours." "You are a true man...."

Voice him, or try to. If you want to play him, submit you doing him, or whatever character you want to do. I gave each character some speeches that you could read, voice reel and send to me for 'submitting' yourself as a possible voice actor for that character.

 

Do it. THEN I'll make a choice. After all, I havent' actually heard you guys' voices in a good mic, in character.

I'm looking into getting a new mic for my PC.

 

And upon further review, I'm much more interested in playing Zudo.

Sure! I know someone else who might be interested in playing Zudo though so I'd be making a choice between you two. Don't worry, if you don't get it or the other guy doesn't get it I'll just move one of you to another main-ish character.

I don't actually care about your new mic; your old one probably would work good enough; if you already ordered it, well, you could use your old one for recording the one or two lines for Zudo/whoever else you wanna play and then sending it to me. Then, use your new one. And I could do some kind of 'quality check' as well; win win for both of us.

I can instantly give you the knowledge that Vector has no mercy, no fear, no morals to achieve the good or bad while Zeed knows his right from wrong, but still does bad things if it gets him the money.

Right, so I've received 3 more apart from HaloGeek, whom I don't know if he still wants to play DeX. Anyways, I've come to these conclusions, which you guys can decide on whether you're happy with it or not. I've still got other characters I need filling, so...yeah.

 

1. Boss, I think you'd do well on Zudo. Unless you wanna switch up, I think that you're suited for the role. A better mic would definitely make it better.

 

2. Minuette/Doctor Derpy, I know you wanna do Zudo but I think you actually might be more suited for either Zeed, Taciturn and even Andrew, especially since you've got this vibe of confidence and - personally - you'd be the 'cool' guy of the team IMO. As for Vector, I have another guy taking it, sorry. He's still deciding but he's pretty absolute in his choices. And may be a dog.

 

3. JC, your file didn't open. If you could, I dunno, hunt down the reason why it won't export (Which may also be the reason why my audacity didn't open it) that'll be great.
