clarf
Hi, I´m realtive new to Halo 4, I jusft finished the campaign mode and started to play the Multiplayer mode on my XBOX 360. Although I played campaign mode in Legendary and finished the game in just some hours, my gameplay is really bad on Multiplayer. Checking each replay when an enemy kills me, I note that the reticle aim of my oponents turns reds even when its very far from my character (1 to 1.5 meters relative distance) and if they shoot at that moment I get the shoot (usually a head shoot). I found its called magnetism on the forum and some Halo guides, anyway in my play (counting the hundred games played) I don´t see that effect on my own reticle aim, it turns reds only when the reticle is directly over the enemy any small displacement out of the enemy and it just turn gray (losing the shoot). In the same way I don´t see the aim-assistance, the moving speed of my reticle don´t change when I pass it over an opponent body. Is this feature disabled on my game? is it changed in some preference menu thath I don´t see?. Really these two aids make a lot harder to win a game, I mean it unbalance the game. I thank any information on this topic. Regards,
Sikslik7
Actually, all of aim assistance and magnatism is all there, it's just you are looking at the wrong things. The killcams are off, and really badly off. I've tested them myself and others have too. The problem is the camera angle differs. The player camera angle that we play from is directly above the right shoulder of each spartan. There are multiple reasons why this is so, but the main reason is so when you get shot in the face, your vision isn't just of bullets and flashes. The camera angle of the kill cam is in the head of the spartan, but keeps the other information (ie gun location, reticle, shields, etc.) in the same places as before. So if you still don't understand what I mean, here's a demonstration. Take a sheet of paper and roll it into a tube. Place it on the right side of a table, and look through it at any small object a few feet away. Now move it as far left as you can go before it falls off the table, with the same angle as before. Then, move over and look through it. It shouldn't be pointing at the same object.
clarf
Thanks for reply Sikslik7, You mean that, I see the reticule aim from the replay (in the head) and its actually on a different angle from the reticule aim that the opponent followed to kill me (shoulder). It could explain what I saw. Well, I hope the camera from the shoulder (as you mentioned used to play) is corrected aligned to the weapon aim, as Halo by default is configured for righ-hand weapon use I hope that both are correctly aligned and not cause any further misinterpretation to the player senses. Recently I also found other weird issues, for example I played yesterday on a small map (I think it is Adrift), I just killed and opponent and lose my shield in the process, then other opponent watched me and start shooting (we was about 15 meters far) but I could miss him turning around a corner, anyway two seconds after I turned around (and I though I was safe behind a wall) I was killed by that opponent. I saw the game replay and found that he killed me with a magnum, its reticule was red after I turned around the corner and I was behind the wall structure, the shoot went through the wall and killed me.... I was so angry that I exited the game.... Also found many other issues with the magnetism and the fact that the bullets can turn around a corner if you hide. Seems like the bullets can turn around in an angle of 60 degrees to any direction, (I don´t know if I am overstating but that was what I saw on the replay), when an opponent soothed over me head on a higher structure after I went back through a entrance door and was totally protected, I was killed... Pau1icu5
What you saw is perfectly explained in one word. LAG. Your camera records some information from your console and combines it with vectors and reticule info from the other players console hence miss representation.
