Improvements?

I just want to share some thoughts I have for 343, hoping that they will see this. If not, I hope I can get a few members to give feedback on some of the points I wish to mention. This wont be easy to swallow 343, while you did a fantastic job at making Halo different and very engaging, there are points that desperately needed improvement.

 

1. Graphics - Hunters. What in the world - happened to the worm-like bodies beneath their hulking armor? The souls of their.. boots? Also terrible. On the hull of Forward unto Dawn, as you send out the missile to take out the covenant carrier. The explosion? It was.. well lets just say my teeth cringed. It fell apart like really alien and expensive lego's. I'm going to assume that with Halo 5 being on the next gen console, that it won't be a problem anymore. I just want to make sure those points aren't repeated.

 

2. Strike distance - Simple touch up. Well, I don't know how to do it so, I guess not so simple. Hunters, yes those again, seems to hit you no matter what. Me personally, I tend to stay right next to a hunter, even when there are two plus in the area, to take one down. Run past their primary forward strike and end up behind them. Even when its painfully obvious I've cleared their strike, I die. Halo Reach. Strikes were absolutely excellent in that one. With the exception of Brutes. (I've been playing Halo Reach, Halo 1, 2, ODST, 3 , and 4 in a row for a few months now so These points are all repeated and seen more than enough)

 

3. Elites - another seemingly simple fix. They just don't look the same. Change their ability to speak English as much as you want (that's another point. IWHBYD is no longer fun if you cant understand the enemy. It sucks), THEY ARE NOT INTIMIDATING ANYMORE. They look sickly and diseased. They don't feel dangerous at all. The only dangerous or intimidating about an of the enemy is the weapon they wield. While that might not make sense, maybe I can clear the air with the next topic.

 

4. Combat - For me? This is the among the most crucial of topics. Halo Reach. haha Yes this game again. I'm the very most excited to play this one after I've beaten all the games. The combat is incredible. Go back to Reach and play on Legendary. The covenant are so ruthlessly unforgiving. Its challenging. They're blood thirsty. Strong. Fast. And all equally deadly in they're own way. Especially the elites. Standing tall and running like they have horse legs or something, they - are - intimidating. Quick do up on that though. Their upper bodies never really moved when they ran. Make it more like Halo 1? If not, no big deal for me. Bottom line, the combat in Reach is more than desirable. Its needed.

 

Quick points I forgot to mention -

The soundtrack. Remember when you jumped onto the hull of the covenant ship and went into slip space? Came out on the other side and wait - did I just hear a song that sounded like it should be in star wars?? Please, that's a no no right?

Another point is - well, where did all the scarabs migrate to?? Wasn't it in Halo 3 (Or ODST depending on how you look at it)

the last time I was able to take down a scarab? Please bring those back?

 

Well, I think that's about it for me. If anyone has anything else, feel free. Or feel free to tell me I'm wrong on some points. Another quick up on the graphics. The explosion of that giant floating gun from the mini mac on the mammoth? Also lego's or something. I'm not trying to say anything bad about 343. I love you guys, you've done a heck of a job making Halo your baby. But, I feel like you all blew yourselves out trying to make it everything we hoped for and more, and in that, you slipped up on minor details. Once again, thank you for not destroying what I've played for years now. Since Halo: Combat evolved, I've not played much else other than Halo. If what I said is a little late for Halo 5, please, should you choose to have another, implement them in the next adventure?
