Xbox One's price to fall? Microsoft seeking legal action against recent leaks.

According to "respected sources" given to VG247 Microsoft will be lowering the price of the Xbox One sometime this year. VG247 reported that it will fall down to the price of the price the PS4. 

 

"Microsoft has told trusted publishing partners that it will release a new model Xbox One before the end of the year, a senior source has confirmed to VG247. Although the source was unable to confirm that the system will be disc-less and feature a bluetooth adaptor, the new console will be priced cheaper than the current $499 model. Upon release, Microsoft would likely drop the price of the current Xbox One model, placing it in the same price point as Sony’s PlayStation 4."

 

There has been quite a lot of rumors buzzing around regarding Microsoft this week, mostly coming from Neogaf by the user of "ntkrnl". There has been several rumors including a Halo 2 anniversary edition being set to release this year and Halo 5 being delayed as many of you may already know. But many of us were unsure on how to take these rumors but according to Kotaku nktrnl is connected to microsoft and they are seeking legal action against these leaks. 

 

"So how valid is this stuff? Well, thanks to a reliable source, I've been able to confirm that ntkrnl is indeed connected to Microsoft, although I haven't been able to verify any of the poster's claims. Just because the leaker is in a position to know this information doesn't mean this information is true. (When I reached out this morning, Microsoft declined to comment.)"

 

Another Kotaku statement. 

 

"On top of all that, according to one person familiar with the situation who spoke to me under condition of anonymity, Microsoft is currently trying to track down and identify ntkrnl. According to that person, Microsoft executives are looking to take legal action against ntkrnl, which, again, doesn't mean that everything he says is true."

Taking legal action against the guy? Seriously Microsoft? This is in no way interfering with or ruining your business strategies in any way. In fact, you should be paying him for this, he's drawing more attention to Microsoft, the Xbox One, and Halo. Seriously, the guy is advertising your product for you by leaking it to the public early, he now has people revved up for your new offers, calm down MS. It's not like negative info about you or the Xbox One got leaked. Just take a moment and relax, you're still getting the same amount of money as you would've if this hadn't been leaked, it's not like it changes anything.

The problem is the method of getting this information. Be it real or not.

If this is true or not remains to be seen but this is a step in the right direction in a way and should level the playing field I would suggest make a Kinectless XB1 but MS properly will not do that.

It's stuff like this that makes me not want to buy anything from that company, in this case.. that would be good 'ol Micro$oft. It's pathetic in my eyes but there are, nothing can be changed about situations like this. My comment may be a little biased I have to admit but I personally am sick of Microsoft. I'd love to go into detail over why, but it would take forever. I think a few people could have a little guess as to why as I'm sure a few people have similar feelings when it comes to M$.

I enjoy the Xbox One quite a bit... I think it was worth the money I also enjoy the PS4 I have been playing both of them a lot lately I just wish there were more games as of now... :/

this is why microsoft are failing because they dont want to get more consoles sold all they want is money and i have had it happen so many times where i go to buy something on the 360 and it takes the money and just flips me the bird straight after and walks away happily with my £50 that i spent trying to get GTA V

I don't  know why, and I know you're only expressing your opinion. But, whenever I see people on this forum slagging off Microsoft and Xbox it really ticks me off, reason for this is that.
