Due to a rather major annoyance, I've decided to put the lore here instead to prevent issues like this from happening again. Please use this thread to discuss the lore.

 

 

This is all the lore. I suggest you read it all, because it contains everything you need to know.

 

Due to the time it takes to write this, I must delay the actual RP until at least the Russian, European and US sections are fully complete. I will be taking character apps, but for those done on a faction that is not yet put up here, a revision may have to be made to them, be aware of that.

Below is everything you need to know about the factions and the current story in ROTR.

 

Brief outline of the current global situation:

The year is 2039, the 8th of October, 3 years after the start of the Russo-European war. The Russian Federation is driving through the ECA resistance in France, which will fall in only a few days at the current rate.

 

The ECA is bottled up in Spain, England and Denmark as the Russian Federation presses onward. A massive naval battle is being fought in the English channel between the ECA and Russian navies. If it falls, England will be open to a second Russian invasion, which will likely be it's downfall. Morale among the ECA troops is low, defeat is near. They fight with desperation to the last man, but there is little hope left for them. Frank Jager, the hero of the ECA resistance continues to fight on in Berlin, determined to make the Russians lives a living hell.

The president of France is monitoring the situation from an ECA carrier group of the west coast of France, about to make a choice that will determine the course of the entire war.

 

Morale against the Russian troops is at an all time high. They continue to press onward against the scattered and weak ECA, which is in full retreat all the time. With victory in Europe almost certain at this point, the Federation has begun to rotate out it's army regulars to the resource rich Siberia, against the growing Chinese presence on the borders. This has left the Russian forces in Europe to be an odd mix of conscripted soldiers with little training, special forces of the the Russian paratroopers and General Aleksander's infamous Shock divisions. However, even with victory a certainty, many in the Russian command are aware of the growing resentment of the Shock divisions by the army due to the war crimes they have committed and continue to commit.

 

The USA watches the global situation very carefully. The carrier battle-group in the Atlantic formed around the supership Spirit of Independence is on high alert, as they wait for Congress's decision on the Russo-European war. US SOCOM has forces in Europe to observe and report the situation to General Francis Thorn. There is little the Marines and Air force on the Spirit of Independence can do but watch and wait as the war in Europe appears to draw to a close. There are many on-board who are looking forward to avenging the disaster of Kurmuk.

 

China is watching the situation as their government comes to a decision on the war in Europe. Every day, several Chinese divisions arrive at the Siberian border, as Russia does the same. Only time will tell if a second front opens up in resource rich Siberia as the Chinese general Mau seeks to avenge the loss of his men in Kurmuk.

 

The GLA is still confined to "the zone" in Central Africa, effectively cut off from the rest of the world. The lawless zone is a safe haven for the worst humanity has to offer, offering a paradise to slavers, arms dealers and terrorists alike. The man in charge is none other then the Warlord Sulaymaan, whose cunning and ruthlessness keep him and the zone safe from the rest of the world. As always, the GLA is looking to take advantage of whatever they can, with the War in Europe being no exception.

 

 

Faction details and equipment:

 

USA: (WIP)

The USA is currently recovering from the 2021-26 recession, which saw it's military take a massive hit and the quality of life for the Average US citizen plummet. The recession was brought about from the US's decision to cave in to the war-weary populace and return to isolationism, abandoning Europe to the GLA attack and cutting ties off with many countries around the world. The US could only sit back and watch as Europe collapsed and China assumed the title of Global protector.

 

However, when president Bradford was elected in 2026, he reformed many of the policies and began to take the US out of it's dark recession. The North American Union was formed with Mexico and Canada, allowing free trade of goods and workers to the countries. The military was reformed and began a re-structuring process, which would place a greater emphasis on individual training and the soldier's life. With it's growing strength, the US was able to claim territory in resource rich Africa, which helped it's economy even further. The lessons that were learned during the Global war on terror were taken to heart.

 

A blow to the US's recovery would come at Kurmuk, where General Aleksander made a fool of them and China by destroying their joint task force.

 

Now, the US finds itself at the edge of another war and is going to decide if it will abandon Europe again, or fight and regain the good standing of the European nations.

 

US Equipment:

Infantry:

Marine: The US marine is a well trained soldier and well equipped soldier, being taught by experienced instructors. They are armed with M16A5 rifles for general purpose engagement. Other weapons carried by the marine corps include the venerable M240B LMG for suppression and fire support. Their superior training and weaponry allow them to take on anyone one on one and win. They carry the M1911 as a side arm.

 

The M16A5 rifle is go to rifle for the US armed forces. Each and every rifle comes standard with a 4x optical scope and a M203 grenade launcher. Due to the nature of the conflict in Europe, marines are equipped with 40mm flashbang grenades as standard. The M16A5 is able to very accuratly place a group of 5.56mm bullets onto it's targets. However, such rounds are almost useless against shieled targets like elites. It would take several clips or an entire squad to bring an elite down. The 40mm flashbang however is very effective against all infantry targets, even Elites are temporarily disabled by it.

 

 

 

Marine Defenders: Defender is the title given to marines who wield the Crossbow missile launcher. A weapon based on the Javelin of previous wars, the Crossbow is lighter and man portable while still packing a great punch. It gives marines the ability to fire at both ground and air targets effectively.

 

The Crossbow missile launcher is a powerful AT weapon and can be used against low-flying aircraft as well. It is slow to reload however and using it against infantry is more a sign of desperation rather then fighting. It's semi-effective against hunter and wraiths while hopeless against scarabs.

 

 

 

Vanguard: The Vanguard drone operator is a heavy frontline specialist. Equipped with several drones and an AA-17 shotgun, they are brutal in close combat.

They can deploy a recon drone, a rocket armed hover drone and a deployable turret all packed tightly into their large backpacks.

 

The Vanguard's AA-17 is brutally devastating in close quarters, able to rip apart most targets in mere seconds. At any significant range though, the AA-17 is ineffective and won't do anything to hostile forces. A full burst from this can kill an elite at point blank range.

 

 

Pathfinders: These elite operators are masters of camouflage and stealth. Often remaining behind enemy lines for days providing intel and assassinating high value targets, they are vital to any US operation. Equipped with the M25A2 Sniper rifle, they are able to engage and kill targets at a significant range. The M25A2 can mount a suppressor, but bullet velocity is reduced and the chance to make a fatal shot is diminished as range increases.

 

The M25A2 is a 7.62mm semi-automatic sniper and offers incredible precision at range, allowing the operator to make that fatal kill shot. However, it's ineffective against Elites, often requiring several clips in quick succession to break it's shields.

 

 

 

 

Pilots: The US pilot is put through the best training in the world when it comes to manning air vehicles. These pilots are well trained and able to handle their aircraft well. With the US's high value on the lives of it's troops, they are trained to eject and make their way to friendly territory if they are unfortunate enough to find themselves shot down.

 

 

 

 

Delta Force Operators: Members of the First SFOD, aka Delta force, these elite and highly trained warriors are masters of any weapon. Their expertise and skill are unmatched by anyone else on the battlefield and their wide range of weaponry ensures they can handle anything thrown at them. Equipped with the most advanced weapons and armour the US has at it's disposal, these warriors are among the deadliest weapons in the world. 

 

Delta operators can take any weapon they like into battle, but many prefer the US's advanced OICW rifle. With an adjustable scope, several vision modes, precise bullet placement and a pin-point accurate 40mm grenade launcher, the weapon is truly unmatched in the hands of a Delta operator. The weapon's 7.62mm AP rounds can devastate infantry, but struggle against Elite's shields. It's 40mm frag grenades however, can wound or even kill an elite if a direct hit is scored.

 

Another tool that all operators carry is the small 60mm mortar. Using advanced targeting systems, this small weapon makes up for it's lack of explosive punch through nigh-pinpoint accuracy.

 

The armour of the Delta force is the next-generation of personal protection. Advanced ceramic material and a full-face helmet with a HUD, the armour is able to take a few hits and relay vital battlefield intel to the user.

 

 

 

Navy SEAL: The members of the Navy's SEa Air and Land teams are among the most respected special forces in the world. SEALs are experts at sabotage and covert ops, operating behind enemy lines. SEALs in Europe are currently deployed in Germany and Poland, to observe the Russian forces. They operate in two man teams and are experts at moving undetected. One of the pair has been issued the M-109 Anti-Tank rifle, while the other carries a UMP.45 for close range engagements. Both men carry explosives, for sabotage behind enemy lines.

 

The M-109 is a 25mm rifle developed by the US. With a devastating punch, this rifle can rip through infantry, light vehicles and the sides of medium vehicles, disabling them. It must be fired using a bipod while in the prone position. Anything else will prove damaging to the user. This rifle can punch clean through an elite, but won't hurt a hunter. Sustained fire can eventually cripple a wraith. It is very loud however and it is often best to relocate after firing the shot.

 

The UMP 45 is a .45 sub-machine gun. It's pistol caliber means it's only effective against infantry in close quarters. The SEALs have a saying: If you need to fire it, something has gone wrong. 

 

 

 

All US personal are equipped with an advanced chemical suit for operating in toxic or radioactive environments.

 

Vehicles:

Humvee: The venerable Humvee continues to remain in service in the US forces. Equipped with a remote turret M2 .50 cal, transport capability and drone support, the Humvee continues to serve well.

 

It's M2 can take out infantry and light vehicles quickly, while it's gunner is skilled enough to make the shots accurate. This vehicle can take out an Elite's shields and kill it quickly. It is also able to take out ghosts and specters with sustained fire. It cannot get through a Hunters armour or anything heavier then a light vehicle though.

 

The armour is very weak and will not stand up to covenant plasma or anything greater then small arms.

 

 

 

Crusader Mk.II: The Cusader 2 was designed as a highly mobile and battle ready vehicle. It has the ability to hover over water and other obstacles, making it very maneuverable. While hovering, it's 120mm cannon is unable to fire and the speed is reduced significantly. Thus the hover mode is only to be used outside an engagement.

 

The Crusader 2 is a highly effective MBT, able to take on anything in it's class and win. It's 120mm cannon can take out most targets on the battlefield, but Super heavy tanks can shrug off it's fire. It can fire through the sides and rear of a wraith and take out hunters through their armour. It can destroy a Scarabs legs eventually, but it is unable to damage the main body.

 

The armour is very tough, being plated in the US's highly advanced composite armour. It can take several hits before being destroyed by an AT weapon. Super heavy tanks and the wraiths mortar will take it out in one hit. It's sides and rear are vulnerable to AT weapons though.

 

 

 

M4 Bradley: The M4 is the next in the series of Bradley vehicles. The Marine Corps use this weapon in frontal attacks and as such it is heavily armed and armoured. Carrying space for 6 soldiers, it is able to deploy them in the middle of a battle with little fear. Equipped with two TOW missiles, a 30mm cannon and a Point defense laser, it's adaptable for any situation.

 

The 30mm cannon is effective against other IFVs and infantry, it will destroy most light vehicles in a few shots. It can take out an elite very quickly and will wreck ghosts and specters. It cannot take out hunters however. It's two TOW missiles can take out heavy vehicles, including wraiths and hunters.

 

The M4 is equipped with the same composite armour as the Crusader, though it is more vulnerable to and able to take less of a beating. It's Point defense laser will destroy inbound rockets and infantry who get too close, though it's able to be overwhelmed. The fuel rod cannon is unaffected by the point defense laser. The PDL can take out an elites shields in one shot, then kill it with the second. Boarding it would prove very costly. Any unshielded soldier would be instantly fried.

 

 

 

M5 Acolyte: During the Global war on terror, US airborne often found themselves outgunned by GLA armour, usually retreating or being forced to hide until air support can arrive. The US government needed a vehicle that could pack a punch and contest the GLA's armour advantage while also being capable of being air dropped. Plans for the Acolyte were drawn up. When the US pulled out of global operations, the Acolyte's development was suspended. Now with a European offensive and the possibility of going against Russian VDV troopers, the tank has been brought back from the dead. Packing a 90mm cannon and the option for field armour upgrade's the Acolyte is a powerful tool in the US inventory.

 

The 90mm cannon of the Acolyte makes it effective against light and medium vehicles. However, it struggles against heavy armour and stand up fights are not recommended. It is pin-point accurate and thus it's crew is trained to aim for potential weak spots on hostile armour.

 

The acolyte has enough protection to stand up against most light and medium vehicles, but is useless against large caliber weapons. The Acolyte instead relies on it's speed, agility and drone support to survive.

 

 

 

M1A4 Paladin: Serving with distinction since the Global war on terror, the Paladin is the US's go to heavy tank. Having Incredible armour and a monstrous 120mm jet assisted cannon, it can take a pounding and dish it out too. It is equipped with a powerful PDL to fend off missile and infantry attacks. The Paladin is more then able to take on any other tank in the world, even the Chinese overlord, and win. Only the Russian sentinel proves too much for the Paladin. However they are slow and thus only reserved for major US offensives, where heavy firepower is favored over mobility. A highly sophisticated AI is installed to each Paladin, allowing it to be operated by only a single crewman.

 

The 120mm jet assisted cannon provides massive penetration for the Paladin. It's able to go through the front of nearly every tank in the world at a distance of several kilometers. It can take out a wraith frontally and hunters easily. It can disable the legs of a Scarab and punch through it's armour in certain weak points.

 

The heaviest ground vehicle in US service, the Paladin has very thick armour. It's able to with stand several high caliber shells from the front and sometimes even bounce them. It still cannot take a shot from the Sentinel though. It's PDL protects against missile attacks while it's side and rear are very well protected.

The best way to take them out is with weight of numbers or incredible firepower. Infantry AT weapons are not going to do much.

 

Aircraft:

F-22B Raptor: This mainline US fighter, the F-22B is the downgraded, cheaper variant of the F-22A. However, it's still the top fighter in the world. Armed with 4 multi-purpose missiles and a 30mm cannon, the F-22B is capable of both Air to Ground and Air to Air duty. The advanced US countermeasure system is able to disable and throw off several missiles at a time. The F-22B is limited by it's very poor armour and limited loadout.

 

The F-22B can take out any aircraft fielded against it, except for Seraphs. It's vulnerable to non-missile based AA and cannons. The Russian S-300 Grumble can take out F-22Bs in a single hit.

 

The F-22N is the naval variant used on carriers, but it is similar to the F-22B

 

 

 

F-22A King Raptor: The most advanced and deadly fighter in the world, the F-22A can handle anything thrown against it. Equipped with Carbon nano-fiber tube armour, A point defense laser, advanced countermeasures, enhanced stealth capabilities, sophisticated sensor and targeting equipment and internal rotary weapon bays, it's unmatched by anything that comes against it. The weakness of the F-22A was shown with the price. The massive cost of these advanced jets was enough to develop the F-22B. Due to the cost, only a few F-22A's are in service. 16 of them are based on the Spirit of Independence.

Only the best pilots the US has to offer are able to fly the F-22A. But their performance is unmatched and legendary across the world.

 

The F-22A carries 16 Multi-purpose missiles and a 30mm cannon. It can take out any air target and is able to take the return fire. Missiles are useless due to the PDL and it's armour protects it against most non-missile based AA. It can take out a Seraph and cripple a scarab, but the Seraph can kill it with it's plasma weaponry.

 

 

 

A-10 Thunderbolt II: The venerable A-10 remains in service with the US, after the failed F-35 project. It served with distinction during the global war on terror.

It's infamous Avenger 30mm cannon is able to punch through the roof of most ground targets, even the mighty Sentinel. It can be outfitted with bombs, rockets and missiles depending on the mission and it's titanium based armour allows it to take a beating. The A-10 is able to strafe an area several times before it must return to base. However, they are vulnerable to enemy fighters and long range AA, so a proper escort is required. Their deployment is limited however and they are reserved for certain operations.

 

it's 30mm cannon can take out everything on the ground but a scarab, but even then it's missile load out can deal serious damage if they all hit. It's not able to dog fight however and it will be taken out by fighters without an escort.

 

 

 

B-1B Lancer: The decision to retire the B-52 from service came after the shocking losses sustained during the global war on terror. It was showing it's age and the US government made the decision to change it's bomber fleet to a smaller yet more flexible force. Enter the Lancer. With the same 50,000lb payload, tougher armour and increased speed, the Lancer is much more suited to the modern battlefield then the B-52. However, they are still vulnerable to heavy AA and enemy fighters, so a fighter escort is required for frontline operations. 27 Lancer's are currently on board the Spirit of Independence.

 

 

 

B-2 Spirit: The most advanced aircraft in the US arsenal, the B-2 spirit stealth bomber is still the top of the line in stealth technology since it's creation. Moving at high speed and undetectable by enemy radar, the B-2 can deliver a punch and get out before the enemy even realized it was ever there. However, with a 2 billion dollar price tag, these are limited to high priority missions where other aircraft cannot go. Only two of the bombers are current assigned to the Spirit of Independence.

 

 

 

C-5 Galaxy: The largest cargo plane in the US inventory, the C-5 is the backbone of US logistics, able to carry over 150 tonnes of vital supplies. Their long range and large cargo loads allow the US to keep the Spirit of Independence fully stocked even while it waits on the edge of ECA territory.

 

 

AC-17 Specter Gunship: Introduced late during the global war on terror, the AC-17 was the next in line to replace the aging AC-130. Equipped with a 155mm howitzer, two 30mm cannons and advanced ATGM launchers, the AC-17 is able to hammer the enemy into submission. Survivability was the highest priority with this machine and it has been equipped with the latest in jamming and countermeasure technology. The AC-17 uses it's swept wing design and powerful engines to enter the battlefield, deliver it's punch and escape with lighting speed. It has become an essential part of US SOCOM. Two are assigned to the Spirit of Independence.

 

Helicopters:

 

Comanche: The Comanche gunship is the go to attack helicopter of the US armed forces. Small, quick, nimble and having stealth capabilities, it's ability to get in and get out proved invaluable during the global war on terror. Armed with a 20 mm cannon and 16 Hellfire missiles, the Comanche brings enough fire power to wipe out a tank column all on it's own.

 

The 20mm cannon will take out Infantry and light vehicles with ease, while the hellfire missiles are capable of destroying tanks. Comanches cannot take down a scarab by themselves.

 

With poor armour, the Comanche relies on stealth and speed to survive. It will not last long if targeted by hostile AA.

 

 

 

Black hawk: The venerable transport helicopter, the Black hawk is a well armoured helicopter designed to drop infantry behind enemy lines. Equipped with a 7.62mm minigun on the door, it can provide covering fire as troops dismount.

 

The 7.62mm Minigun can tear up infantry. Heavier vehicles are safe from it though.

Russian Federation: (WIP)

 

The Russian Federation rose back to the center of global attention during the late 2020s. The then obscure and little known man called Nikolai Surovov had ousted the corrupt ex-KGB elite from government and was voted as president. He immediately began a series of reforms to try and bring Russia out of the economic disaster it was in. Over the course of the several years, Russia had regained much of it's economic strength and was making a return to superpower status. The rebuilding European nations needed the fossil fuels Russia was exporting. Rising temperatures to global warming had uncovered much resources in Siberia, leaving Russia with huge exports to nations such as the ECA and China. The valuable metals and minerals from it's territory in east Africa were aiding greatly in it's recovery. By 2029, Russia was an economic powerhouse. China and the recovering US looked on Russia with caution.

In late 2029, pictures of what looked like a missile silo were revealed to the world. The silo was located at a Russian base in Kurmuk, Sudan. Both China and the USA demanded that Russia begin deconstructing the site immediately. The Russian government maintained the site was used to help defend and protect it's territory from aggression. The "Sudanese missile crisis" went on for four days, until a Joint Chinese-American task force went in to eliminate the site. As the Chinese began to move towards the base, the silo opened up and revealed a massive rotary artillery piece. The barrage devastated the Chinese force, who were then promptly cut down. The US offensive which was relying on the Chinese diversion, was overwhelmed and destroyed. General Aleksander had made a fool of both China and the USA, while demonstrating Russia's might to the world.

Things took a turn for the worse in 2032 however. The ECA had just revealed it's new Solaris satellite. These satellites could be used to focus sunlight. Using them for both agriculture and power, the ECA became completely self-sufficient. Soon, it stopped buying Russian resources, which was a big hit to the Russian economy.
In 2033, Aleksander had been recalled to Russia and General Orlov had taken his place in Russian controlled territories. The Warlord Sulaymaan recognized the opportunity that the lack of Shock troopers meant. A massive GLA offensive began, which began to devastate the Russian forces in Africa. At the same time, the ECA was rooting out the GLA with ruthless efficiency. A massive ECA armoured force under the command of General Wolfgang on deployment near the Russian territory was making it's way to assist Russian forces against the GLA onslaught. However, at the last moment the ECA force's were recalled. The Russian force was overwhelmed by the GLA aggression. Russia was forced to abandon it's territory in Africa, cutting it off from valuable resources. Surovov saw the situation ahead, Russia was heading to economic collapse. He looked at the ECA as the cause of this. Surovov called General Aleksander to the Kremlin that day.

The Russian Invasion of Europe was slow and clunky at first. Aleksanders forces were bogged down facing heavy ECA defenses. The Russian Airforce had made a key strike, destroying much of the European air force in the first few weeks. Soon, Russia had broken through ECA lines and claimed total air dominance. Frogfoots made the retreating ECA forces suffer heavy losses. Russian forces advanced steadily. There was massive celebrations and parades in the Russian capital as videos and pictures of the Russian flag flying over the reichstag poured in. However, as the Russian advanced continued, more and more reports of atrocities and war crimes being committed by Aleksander's Shock divisions came in. These led the ECA to adopt increasingly desperate and brutal tactics. The Russian advanced continued and losses mounted, while Russia threw more conscripts at the Europeans pushing them back. With ECA forces held up in England, Denmark and Spain, Russia looks set to achieve total victory in Europe in only a matter of days.


Infantry:

Conscript: These men have been drafted from all walks of life into the Russian military. Given two weeks basic training and shipped off to the front lines, the live expectancy of the average conscript is low. Being poorly trained, these men are prone to firing their entire clips inaccurately at hostile troops. Each Conscript is issued an AK-74 rifle, a basic medkit and due to the efforts of the ECA resistance in Berlin and the actions of Frank Jager, thermal goggles. Russian conscripts are also given a 30 minute session on how to drive and operate a Kodiak tank. They are taught to do a little bit of everything, but are poor at it. However, Conscripts who prove themselves in battle will be rewarded, such as the legendary Russian hero Boris. The concept of brotherhood is drilled into them and even these poorly trained men will fight harder to avenge their fallen comrades.


The standard weapon of choice for a conscript is a AK-74 rifle. The dependable 7.62mm rifle packs a puch, but the wielder is often poorly trained and will prefer to just empty entire clips at the target. 2 clips of this weapon are enough to break the shields of an elite.
They may also be equipped with a PKP machine gun, RPG 18 or an Igla AA missile launcher.



RNBC Trooper: The men of the RNBC corps are selected from the finest in the Russian army. These soldiers are tasked with the difficult prospect of fighting in an environment where tactical nuclear weapons and lethal toxins are involved. These men are equipped with advanced suits that protect against radiation and toxins. They have been deployed to Europe in case of ECA nuclear strikes, though the chances of that now seem almost non-existent.

They are armed with the AK-12 rifle, which is an effective customisable 7.62mm weapon. The RPG-72 is issued as the anti-tank weapon of choice. This has the ability to fire special thermobaric rockets, which will fry infantry and can be used to clear fortified positions, but is useless against armour.

Their advanced combat gear is protective, but bulky and restricting. These troopers are not meant for frontline conditions and are only to be deployed in extreme environments.



Shock Trooper: The members of the military wing of the R&D corps, known as Shock troopers, form the one of the strongest and infamous sections of the Russian military. Having been put through a punishing indoctrination and training process, these men come out of training as a blindly loyal and obedient follower of Aleksander. Shock troopers are equipped with weapons and armour that have come straight from the R&D corps, including 30mm gyro-jet rifles and portable tesla weaponry. The Shock troopers go into battle wearing very heavy armour and their iconic gasmask, which makes them seem inhuman to their foes. The shock divisions of Aleksander have been reported to have committed a number of war crimes, the most common of which is the killing of civilians. Disturbing figures show that the Shock division's have taken no prisoners for the entire war. This often causes a rift between them and the rest of the Russian forces, who are uncomfortable and wary of these men. Many speculate that it was these men and their barbarity which caused the ECA to adopt illegal weapons such as nerve gas and canister rounds. In battle, Shock troopers have charged ECA positions with no regard for personal safety and will literally climb over the bodies of their comrades to kill their enemy.

Shock troopers are equipped with a 30mm gyro-jet rifle or a portable tesla weapon. The gyro-jet "Rocket" rifle is a brutal weapon, able to tear apart light vehicles with ease. The wounds seen on troops hit by such a round are horrific and survivors are very rare. This weapon can kill an Elite in a few shots and tear apart ghosts. The heavy weapon is managed by the trooper's own strength, which seems almost super-human. The tesla weapon is just as devastating. Taking 3 seconds to charge, it sends out an electric arc that will fry it's target. Against an unprotected human target, it turns them into little more then a pile of ash. It can use a sustained arc to short out vehicles and disable them, but it cannot destroy them. A single charge will disable an elites shields, while the second will kill it.

The shock troopers carry some of the heaviest armour seen on personal in the world. It's very thick nature allows it to shrug off small arms fire that would kill anyone else. It's not invincible however and will fail against sustained fire. Covenant plasma has no trouble dealing with the armour.




Spetsnaz: The Russian special forces of the VDV paratroopers, these men are among the deadliest in the world. Years of harsh training and brutal combat against the GLA have forged a generation of operators like no other. The Spetsnaz VDV in Europe are under the command of General Orlov and have been involved in a number of covert and direct operations against the ECA. Members of the Spetsnaz VDV have the privilege to almost any weapon in Russia's inventory and are deadly no matter what weapon they wield. The nature of their work requires they wear light gear to allow mobility and flexibility. Their primary objective is the capture of an ECA Solaris reactor, which has so far been unsuccessful.

Vehicles:

Kodiak: The MBT of Russia's military, the Kodiak is the latest and most likely last in a series of modifications to the T-80. Equipped with a 130mm cannon and 7.62mm remote controlled MG, these tanks pack a mean punch. The Kodiak is a tough and sturdy tank. Equipped with thermal smoke grenades, the Kodiak can lay down a screen that will block most enemy sighting systems, allowing them to close the distance and engage up front. A unique design philosophy with Russian tanks is the ability for it to return back to operational status mid-battle. Specialized repair vehicles can salvage the vehicles, while conscripts are only too eager to get in and replace the dead crew. This has had the effect of making an attacking force appear much larger, where as in reality it's down to Russia's remarkable ability to repair and replace vehicles mid-battle.

The 130mm on the Kodiak is a devastating weapon. It has no trouble penetrating the armour of most vehicles in battle. Only the US Paladin and Chinese overlord can give it trouble. However, it does have trouble at extreme ranges, something which ECA tank crews capitalize on with devastating effect. It can take down Hunters and Wraiths easily, though the MG struggles against Elites. Scarabs have no trouble taking out these tanks.



BMP 4: The latest in the Russian IFV line, the BMP is a sturdy all-round vehicle. Carrying up to 6 troops into battle while laying down smoke cover and covering fire with it's 40mm cannon, it has become the back bone of Russian attacks.



Golem: One of the projects to come from Aleksandar's R&D corps, the Golem is the revived Object 279. After months were spent ironing out the problems and updating the design for the modern battlefield, the Golem was born. Armed with a 152mm cannon and two 14.5mm MG's mounted on the turret, the Golem brings serious firepower to the battlefield. It's special design and technology allow the tank to operate in environments where nuclear weapons are being used. The disc shaped hull deflects the blast above and below the tank, while the NBC protection and the crew's own hazmat suits protects against radiation and toxins. It's dual track system allows the tank to maintain excellent cross-country capability and performance. An experimental point defense system of jammers, flares and flashbangs allow the tank to stop missile and close infantry attacks. On top of all that, much to the horror of the 7th Royal guards armoured division, these tanks are amphibious. This ability was demonstrated during the Invasion of England, where several of these tanks crossed the channel. However, they are very slow and exposed targets, being unable to fire the gun while in water.
However, these tanks are expensive. As such, they only see service with the RNBC corps and the Shock divisions. It has been noted that many of the Shock divisions tanks are being recalled and undergoing a refit.

The 152mm cannon on the Golem is a powerful weapon. Able to punch holes through Leopards, Overlords and Paladins with ease at almost any range. The 14.5mm MG's rip apart infantry and even helicopters near the Golem quickly. It has no trouble dealing with anything up to a scarab and even then will make it be wary of engaging.

For it's size, the Golem does not boast incredible armour. While the ERA and advanced defense system affords it effective missile protection, many tanks have no troubles punching through this tank. This does not mean it should not be feared.

Sentinel: In the late 2010s, the Russian government decided it wanted a tank to compete with the Chinese overlord on the export market. Months later, the first in the Sentinel line was born. Armed with dual 150mm cannons and plagued with numerous flaws, it received the official designation of HT-28, HT being the Cyrillic acronym for novelty tank.

When Surovov ousted the corrupt regime, the Sentinel tank was brought back to the design table. After many months tinkering and modifying the design, the Sentinel was reborn. Armed with a 220mm cannon, two warden missile pods and an ARENA active defense system, all encased in the latest in Russian ERA armour and powered by a engine built solely for the Sentinel, the new tank was a tremendous leap from the old HT-28. The HT-28M1 as the new version was designated, still retained the HT as a symbolic gesture for the new government.

The Sentinel is officially the strongest tank in the world. Thought the European Manticore may best it, the Sentinel outnumbers the Manticore by 30 to 1. Its monstrous cannon can punch through any armour on the battlefield in a single shot, while it's own tremendous armour can turn anything up to a 105mm. The Sentinel was a common sight in the war, always at the forefront of the battle. The ECA's only counter was massed firepower or devastating artillery barrages.

Still, the Sentinel is not invincible. It's large size and sluggish movement make it difficult at best in an urban environment. It's large cannon and slow reload also make it vulnerable to large numbers of enemy armour. Aircraft have no trouble in dealing with the Sentinel, though in the Russian controlled skies of Europe, this weakness is largely irrelevant.

 

General Aleksander and the Shock divisions:

 

 

 

Little is known about the illusive man with the gasmask. According to legend, he was once a highly gifted but unstable child prodigy raised in a cadre school who attained his doctor's degree of engineering at 18. His talent didn't go unnoticed by the Federation military which offered him a position in the Advanced Weapons Research & Development Corps, one of the most secretive but insufficiently funded units that existed since the Soviet era.

Tasked with the development of new protection systems and sensor equipment, Aleksander seized his grand opportunity when Russia's new President Suvorov visited the facility in the Ural Mountains in 2028. After a grandiose rhetorical introduction, young Aleksandr presented him with his pet-project, the prototype of a revolutionary directed energy weapon based on the theories of Nikola Tesla, the legendary Serbian inventor whose eccentric quirks Aleksandr would consciously invoke for his own image. The President was impressed, promoted him on the spot and authorized the R&D Corps to sign its own blank cheques.

A decade later, Aleksander, now a General, is in full control of the Corps, having turned it into an exclusive, borderline cult-like organisation with its own military wing, the infamous Shock Divisions, a horde of nigh-inhuman warriors blindly obedient and forever loyal to him. His glorious victory against the Sino-American task force that attacked his hidden research complex in Kurmuk provided proof of his military genius as well, making him the candidate of choice when it came to leading the invasion of Europe a few years later.

Once a friendless loner, Aleksander now enjoys the company of the most extravagant circles of Russian society with all the associated decadence and lewdness. He is a man with two faces: While most people only know him as the brilliant, magnificent 'scientist general' with the iconic gasmask, only a select few people had ever seen the raving, highly unstable and largely wretched personality that hid behind it.

 

 

 

 

[Composite Armour]

ECA (WIP):

 

 

The European Continental Alliance or ECA is a coalition of Allied European nations formed after the GLA attack on Europe and total collapse of the EU. After the GLA attack in 2019, much of Europe's infrastructure was destroyed and few countries were left unscathed. Were it not for the Chinese intervention, the situation could have been much more catastrophic. After the GLA was driven from Europe, the leaders of European countries came together to discuss how to rebuild and prevent such a disaster from happening again. It was here the ECA was born. Unlike the EU which preceded it, the ECA established clear objectives and powers it had as to prevent the disaster of the totalitarian EU government which caused many members to leave. The most decisive part of this alliance was the formation of a common military between European powers. While states retained their own armies, the ECA drew members and equipment from every member country with the sole task of defending Europe and it's territory. With this new found cooperation and spirit of rebuilding that had not been seen since the end of WWII, the ECA restored much of Europe's infrastructure within a few years.

 

With it's economy on the rise and major rebuilding finished, the ECA turned it's attention towards defensive matters. Construction of a massive defensive line around ECA territory began and soon it's borders were protected by miles of concrete, sandbags, barbed wire and defensive fortifications. Armament of the ECA's military began and within months it became a powerful force on the global scale. With it's army, the ECA claimed territories in resource rich NW Africa. This territory saw massive improvements in Education, Infrastructure, agriculture and healthcare under European control. This dedication proved invaluable during the GLA attack on the ECA's African territory. The GLA were dumbfounded when the popular support from the locals they enjoyed all over the rest of the African continent was not present in ECA territory. Within a few days, the ECA counter attack began.

 

For most of it's history, the ECA had relied on the vast Russian exports of fossil fuels and other such commodities. This changed when the European Space Agency launched their Solaris satellites. These Solaris satellites, able to harness and focus sunlight towards earth in a concentrated beam, are the ECA's greatest achievement. The Europeans harnessed this technology into power in the form of the Solaris reactor. These reactors provided power on a scale never before seen, to the point where one is enough to power all of Ireland, England and France. Within a short time after the introduction of these reactors, Europe stopped importing Russian fuel completely.

 

The ECA campaign against the GLA was coming to a close. The Europeans had driven them out of their territory with Ruthless efficiency, even going into their tunnel network and driving them out. It was while General Wolfgang and the 7 European armoured division were making their way to assist Russian forces who were facing an overwhelming GLA assault, that the call came through to return and consolidate European territory. Wolfgang ignored the order and pressed on, determined to aid the Russians. Direct orders from ECA high command ordering Wolfgang and his men to return or face the consequences halted him. He and his troops turned around and proceeded back to ECA territory. When the Russian were driven from Africa, their government saw the ECA as the source of all their woes.

 

When the Russians invaded, the ECA defense at the Polish border was strong. The Russians took heavy casualties, until a man known only to the ECA as Boris created a gap for Russian forces. Soon, the ECA lines had collapsed and the long retreat began. Much of the European air force had been destroyed on the ground, giving the Russians total air supremacy. Only the RAF managed to come out with it's air power intact, but it was not enough to combat the might of the Russian air force. The Europeans were pushed back steadily until the Russian invasion of the Be-Ne-Lux countries. The ECA had flooded much of the low lands, planted massive minefields and had hidden pop-up defensive turrets. The Russians were bogged down and the main force moving through Austria met the new European Manticore tank. For several days, the Russian advance was stalled and even pushed back. But the Russian broke through the Be-Ne-Lux line and pressed onward, forcing the ECA back into a retreat.

 

As the ECA became more desperate and news of the war crimes committed by the Shock divisions reached ECA forces, the ECA began to use weapons banned by the Geneva convention. Minefields stretching for several kilometers were made and the RAF made very rare strikes dropping Nerve gas on Russian forces. The European Leopard and Challenger tanks began to use canister shells. The ECA also began to weaponise the Solaris relay, which scorched a small area. All of these measures were not enough to slow the Russian advance. The ECA had some hope when news of the Frank Jagers and the resistance's plans to "make those ******** pay in blood" reached the front lines. However, these actions made the Shock divisions commit more atrocities in retaliation. Slowly, many Europeans came to see General Aleksander as the villain, rather the Surovov.

 

The failed invasion of England by Russian forces strengthened the ECA's resolve. The ECA rallied behind the simple motto of "Europe shall not fall!". In response to their failed attack, Russia began a bombing campaign against England. London once again became the target of nightly bombing raids. Price William was killed in one of the first raids, the Russians thought it would demoralize the English population. It had the opposite effect however and British troops serving in the ECA fought with more ferocity then ever.

 

The ECA was still being pushed back however. Now, the last European defenders in France are only hours from total defeat. Much of the ECA's remaining strength is tied up in England, Denmark and Spain. The ECA is prepared to attempt one last desperate gambit to try and hold. It is one for which it will pay dearly.

 

 

 

Infantry:

 

 

Felin Trooper: When choosing the infantry program to be adopted by the ECA, they decided to use France's Felin program. Well trained and very well equipped, these troopers are only too eager to drive the Russians from their homes. The blue camoflauge used by the ECA is seen most prominently on these men and women, who are seen almost nightly on news networks around the world. With their powerful Ceramic armour and their extensive training on defensive warfare, these troopers are tough to dig out once they bunker down. While most are equipped with the FAMAS 2 rifle, many troopers can avail of a variety of specialist weapons form all over Europe. 

 

With Conscription being introduced by the ECA, professional, experienced soldiers now find themselves fighting alongside inexperienced and scared individuals. Sometimes even children as young as twelve. However, these conscripts are still better trained and equipped then their Russian counterparts and are proving an effective measure.

 

The Starstreak AA missile launcher is also being handed out as standard issue. It's proving effective against the Russian Hinds and Hokums, but it's only a small dent in the Russian advance.

 

 

Tank hunters: These soldiers are the ECA's answer to overwhelming Russian armour. Equipped with the Massive panzerfaust AT weapon, they prove dangerous for unsupported Russain tanks.

 

The panzerfaust is a specialized AT weapon system, using a projectile that doesn't pack nearly as much punch as standard AT missiles and weighs twice as much, but that can bypass most missile protections systems, making them valuable against the tough Russian armour.

 

 

ECA Commandos: The ECA commando corps is a collection of special forces from all members of the ECA, making them a valuable and dangerous asset to the ECA. With a majority of it's members coming from the British special forces, around 60 percent, many have taking to calling them the ECA SAS, though in reality SAS members make up only a small percentage of the corps. Commandos make a living out of causing havoc behind Russian lines. Everything from demolition and sabotage to assassination and rescue operations, they find themselves in all corners of Europe. Commandos have accessed to almost any weapon in the ECA's inventory and make good use of that fact. They rely on stealth and ambush to stay alive behind Russian lines.

 

 

 

Medics: With such a high demand for fighters, the ECA medical corps has found many of it's personal picking up a rifle instead. The corps now consist of those unable to fight in a battle. The average age for a medic in the ECA is only 14.

 

Originally unarmed, the ECA began issuing them MP9 PDWs after they received reports of the atrocities committed by shock troopers. However, now that they are armed, medics have lost their non-combatant status, making them viable targets for all Russian soldiers. Many medics say the trade-off is worth it however, as they are horrified about what would happen if they were caught by a Shock trooper unarmed.

 

 

 

Vehicles:

 

 

Leopard 3: The MBT of the ECA, the Leopard 3 is a highly advanced machine. Sporting a 125mm cannon and wrapped in several layers of the most highly advanced armour, the Leopard has served the ECA effectively during the battles with the GLA and later against the Russians. The Leopard carries a variety of Anti-infantry weaponry. The chief among these is the turret-mounted MG. ECA trains all personal in the use of this MG and makes it easily accessible for troopers to mount and dismount. At any time in a battle a trooper can jump on the tank and man the MG. This odd system came about from battling against the GLA, where gunners would be sniped and the tank would lose a potent weapon with no one left to man it. Remote weapon systems were found to be two slow and a battle drone similar to the US was too costly to develop. A point defense S-mine launcher was designed to prevent boarding and detonates when a hostile gets too close, showering the are with lethal shrapnel. The final one of these is the illegal Canister rounds issued to Leopard crews. Effectively a 125mm shotgun firing special barbed projectiles, these rounds cause horrific wounds to infantry with a wide spread. This lead to their banning in the Geneva convention, which the ECA ignored as the Russian advance continued.

 

The 125mm cannon uses a specialized gas propellant system, giving it a much greater range then it's counterparts. This range is invaluable to ECA tank crews, who are unable to match the Russian Kodiaks when they get into effective range.

 

The armour of the Leopard 3 is tough and effective, though not as advanced as the US's Composite armour. It can't stand up to Russian guns very long. However, Leopards are currently being upgraded with tech developed as part of the Manticore project, though currently these are only limited to the specialized Manticore divisions.

 

 

 

Pandur IFV: An Austrian design, The Pandur is a lightly armored, highly mobile, modular vehicle. Being used for everything from troop transport to local fire support, the Pandur can find itself in almost every role on the battlefield. With a range of weapon systems including cannons, AT launchers, grenade launchers and light mortars, the Pandur is a versatile vehicle. These vehicles often serve as support for the ECA's Panzerdivisions, providing effective support for the Leopards and Challengers of the Royal Dragoon Guards to break through.

 

 

 

 

Wotan array: The ECA's heavy anti-air weapon, the Wotan array uses specialized microwaves to destroy aircraft. It can ignite the fuel, ammo and even the pilot, bringing the plane down. The platform is large and has little armour with no anti-ground weapons. Against aircraft though, the Wotan is devastatingly horrific. The mere presence of a Wotan is enough to discourage most Russian pilots, as tales of their comrades gruesome fate when being targeted by a Wotan are all too common in the Russian air force.

 

 

 

Fennek: This German designed vehicle is used exclusively by the ECA commando corps. It's suited for commando operations and is armed with a Automatic shotgun turret. The vehicle is not suited for direct combat however and has no armour to speak of. Equipped with specialized sensor and detection equipment, the Fennek is often used to stalk Russian armour battalions and relay the information to Jagdmammuts waiting in ambush. Many of these vehicles often find their way to the ECA Resistance, who make good use of them when causing havoc behind Russian lines.

 

 

 

Jagdmammut: The Jagdmammut is a modern revival of the Tank destroyer concept seen during WW2. Most nations had thought the notion of a design would be abandoned in the Modern battlefields highly mobile environment. The losses sustained by Russian armour as they pushed through Europe quickly dispelled all notions of them being obsolete. Armed with two 140mm cannons in a fixed forward facing and specialized penetrator rounds that can go clean through 3 Kodiak tanks, the Jagdmammut is formidable to the Russian forces. It's low profile make it hard to hit and allow it to hid easily in bushes and other foliage. A mounted MG that can be operated by any ECA personal provide effective anti-infantry support, along with the close range S-mine seen on the Leopard 3.

 

However, the armour on the Jagdmammut is minimal, allowing even the low caliber 40mm of the BMP 3 to cut through. If it get's spotted out in the open, it will most likely be destroyed. The Jagdmammut must rely on stealth and superior firepower to survive. With Russian air domination, the Jagdmammut must relocate quickly after every salvo or face destruction at the hands of Russian frogfoots.

 

 

 

Claymore: This Scottish built 155mm mobile howitzer is among the heaviest in the ECA's inventory. Able to fire a devastating barrage in quick succession, it's sudden and quick barrages soon became infamous to the Russians, who were often unable to eliminate the vehicles before they relocated.

 

The Claymore is very lightly armoured and is unarmed at close range. If it gets too close to the front, it will die.

 

 

 

Aircraft:

 

 

King Tiger: The German/French developed helicopter called the Tiger proved far too vulnerable and unable to deal with the GLA. It was clear an upgrade was needed. The new model, dubbed the King tiger, did away with the chin cannon of the old and replaced it with a sophisticated rocket pod turret. It's anti EMP defense was improved and more armour was added.

 

When the Russians invaded, the Icarus mines were attached to king tigers, allowing them to stop the fearsome Russian gunship assaults earlier. Two star-streak AA launchers were added. The KT proved an affordable and effective Helicopter, though it's operation was only permitted when Russian Su-47 Berkuts allowed.

 

 

 

Prototypes:

 

 

With the war becoming increasingly more bleak for the ECA, many technologies initially being developed for the ESA now are being turned into weapons of war to try and halt the Russian advance.

 

The Manticore project:

 

 

"100 tonnes of German engineering", The Manticore is the strongest tank in the world. The only tank that can best a Sentinel in a one on one engagement, the the Manticore is a blend of massive firepower and experimental technology.

 

With dual 155mm cannons, dual turret mounted rocket pods and a dual 30mm cannon, the Manticore brings massive firepower to any engagement. It's advanced AI named EVA can acquire targets and designate them in the blink of an eye, allowing the Manticore to react swiftly and brutally. The AI also allows it to be manned by a crew of just three.

 

This firepower is protected by layers of the experimental Nano shock absorber armour, which was originally a concept designed to protect against meteorites. This armour can turn the shells of Golem's reliably, and makes the Manticore a formidable foe. The Manticore is powered by two Hydrogen fuel cell engines, which are equal to the Chinese nuclear reactors with none of the drawbacks.This allows the Manticore a surprising degree of speed and maneuverability for it's size

 

The real strentgh of the Manticore however is in it's suite of Nano-repair bots. These small machines hover in a cloud above the Manticore and repair battle damage by way of a special foam that instantly hardens, allowing any holes in the armour to be fixed up on the spot. These bots can also repair friendly tanks in close proximity to the Manticore. This affords the Manticore and friendly tanks incredible endurance.

 

Special Manticore divisions have been formed, with the accompanying vehicles being upgraded with the Nano armour and Fuel cell powerplants. However, even these impressive formations cannot halt the Russian advance. Whenever a Manticore tank is sighted, the area becomes swarmed with Frogfoots, who pound the tank. This massive beating is still unable to kill the Manticore, who often limp back to base damage, but operational. Only two have ever been confirmed destroyed and those wrecks were destroyed by ECA commandos en route to Russian facilities. 

 

 

 

The Pandora project:

 

 

On the late hours of October 8th, this frightening weapon was revealed to the whole world in what Russia called "the biggest war crime in human history."

24 of these weapons were deployed against the bulk of Russian forces advancing towards the ECA line, bringing their advance to a dead halt.

 

The Pandora has two vital components. The first is the launch platform. This platform was re-purposed from from an orbital delivery system in use by the ESA, using a railgun to launch parts into space essentially. These platforms made ideal weapons to deliver their special cargo. 

 

The second component is the warhead itself. Derived from the Chinese high energy neutron weapons used during the GWOT, these weapons rely on the same principle, using an extremely powerful burst of radiation to kill anyone in it's radius, but leave no trace of radiation the next day, other then the bodies of their victims.

These weapons were banned at the behest of China after the GWOT ended. It's unknown how the Chinese government will react, but retired General Tsing Tao made a public address on Chinese news networks claiming their use was regrettable, but justified.

 

 

 

The Venom project:

 

 

This project is still in the very early stages and will not be ready for deployment until much later in the war. Many doubt that the ECA will last long enough for them to be deployed.

 

 

 

 

 

[Silent Orbis]

China (WIP):

 

 

In 2017, The Chinese military held one of it's many parades celebrating it's armed forces and China's might. Columns of soldiers, battlemasters, overlords and other proud Chinese military personal marched through the streets of Beijing. Thousands gathered to watch the ceremony. It was only when the parade reached the gates of the Forbidden city that there were those watching for the perfect opportunity. A cargo truck drove into the parade and then detonated in a nuclear fireball. Within seconds, the parade, spectators, the Forbidden city and most of downtown Beijing was reduced to a crater. This marked the beginning of the terrorist group known as the GLA and the start of the global war on terror.

China reacted immediately. Coordinating with american forces, a several month campaign began to try and wipe the GLA off the face of the earth. The Chinese found themselves fighting all over the middle east and inside it's own borders, hunting down the GLA wherever they could. The GLA struck back against the heightened Chinese aggression, destroying several key dams across China. China pulled out of the middle east to try and secure it's own borders. The USA continued the campaign against the GLA in the middle east, culminating in the destruction of the what was the GLA capital. GLA activity across the globe fell sharply. The US and China had "won".

16 Months later, disturbing pictures were revealed to Chinese intelligence. GLA forces had taken the Baikonur launch facility and were in possession of two Soyuz missiles. China mobilized it's forces and sent them to take the facility back. The attack was a total failure. Civilian populations around US bases in Europe were evacuated. Two days later, one of the missiles launched, striking an American naval base in northern Europe, forcing a US response. The US took the facility and began a hunt for the GLA leader, known only as Dr. Thrax. Within a month of the Soyuz attack, The US had killed Dr. Thrax. China watched from the back lines, as the GLA seemed to be targeting the US only.

It was less then two months before a man known as Mohamar "Deathstrike" was rumored to have taken control of the GLA. This new leader lead the GLA on a campaign of aggression, amassing troops and materials with the help of his second in command, Sulaymaan. The GLA had amassed a large amount of stolen Chinese equipment and began using it against US forces. A long push into Europe began. While the US was occupied in Europe, The legendary mercenary Jarmen Kell and several of the GLA's best infiltrated a US facility on the east coast. The GLA hijacked a US particle cannon and used it to sink the super carrier George Bush while also stealing several key toxins. The US government caved and began recalling troops home. The US forces in Europe opposing the GLA were now gone. The EU relied so heavily on US protection that it could not hope to stand against the GLA itself. China saw the GLAs use of their equipment to drive out US forces as a great embarrassment to them. A tactical nuclear missile was launched at the GLA occupied base at Stuttgart while they celebrated their victory over US forces. China needed time to mobilize it's forces and protect against the GLA retaliation.

For the next month, GLA forces swept across much of central and western Europe. Looting and murdering as they went, there was little local forces could do to stop them. The height of the GLA attack came when they dumped volatile toxins into the Rhine, poisoning the river in the worst ecological disaster in human history and causing much of the cites along it's banks to become inhabitable for several years.. The desperate EU security council turned to China to aid them. China agreed and vowed to drive the GLA out from Europe at any costs. Hundreds of thousands Chinese troops poured into Europe, beginning what was to become the bloodiest and most devastating part of the Global war on terror.

For 5 months, Chinese troops pushed the GLA back city by city, town by town, house by house. The fighting was brutal. China was forced to use it's enhanced radiation "Neutron" warheads to clear the GLA out of certain areas. Large scale napalm bombings also became common. China regretted their use, but claimed it was necessary. The Chinese drove the GLA all the way back to the city of Hamburg, where Deathstrike had planned to have his men go down fighting. As over a hundred thousand Chinese troops poured into the city, the GLA detonated a nuclear weapon, vaporizing the Chinese force as well as it's own men. The GLA was destroyed at long last, though at a terrible cost. The remaining GLA survivors fled to Africa. The global war on terror ended as it started and Chinese forces celebrated their glorious victory.

With the new Eurasian unity league replacing NATO, China kept troops in Europe until such a time when they were able to handle themselves. Economic support from China continued, even after the collapse of the EU and the founding of the ECA. For the next few years, China enjoyed relative peace. It's only engagements were from the GLA remnants in Africa as China claimed the northeastern African territories. With the US having broken off most trade agreements and resorting to isolationism, China soon became the global economic and military leader.

However, China's peaceful years were about to be threatened. When pictures of the Russian Federation's missile silo in Kurmurk came in, both China and the US immediately demanded it's removal. When the Russian government refused, saying that it was merely to protect Russian territories in Africa, the so called "Sudanese missile crisis" began. Talks went on for four days until both China and the US provided the ultimatum. Russia refused again. A Chinese-American task force was deployed to take the site. As Chinese forces began to march on the base, the silo opened up to reveal a massive rotary artillery cannon. The Chinese force was utterly annihilated and their america allies were overwhelmed. General Mau watched his army and country get made fools of by the Russian federation that day.

China stands on heightened alert as the Russian federation continues it's war on Europe. Every day more Chinese divisions arrive at the Siberian border while Russia does the same. China maintains that the build up is merely to ensure the safety of the ethnic Chinese living in Siberia. Only time will tell if it will make good on that promise.

The GLA or the Global Liberation Army is an organisation that vowed to "end imperialist aggression" in their lands. They only became known after their nuclear attack on Beijing, where they went from an obscure minor organisation to the center of global attention all the way to the 2020s.

The GLA's initial attention was focused on China, within days of the Beijing attack, several smaller attacks throughout the country occurred, including the destruction of the Three gorges dam. The Chinese military was taken aback by the sheer size and scale, as well as the organisation, of the GLA campaign.

 

What would soon become known as the Global war on terror, the GLA began attacking american and UN stations in the middle east, forcing a response. A months long campaign of brutal warfare followed for the GLA, while they enacted devastating attacks on US forces and eliminated a chief US diplomat.

The US went on a campaign to root out and destroy the GLA, culminating in the attack on the GLA HQ is Kazakhstan. While this was seen as the defeat of the GLA, a small cell managed to take control of the Baikonur facility. This action met with little to no response from the US and Chinese forces.

 

For months, the GLA remained quiet, allowing the world to think they remained a dead organisation. Under the command of a man only known as Dr.thrax, the GLA once again soared into the global spotlight when US intel leaked pictures of two Soyuz missiles being prepped with chemical warheads. These weapons were aimed at US bases in Europe. The first missile struck a US base in northern Germany, destroying it completely. Fortunately, the city had been evacuated prior to the attack.

 

The US responded with an immediate attack on the Baikonur facility, taking it back and preventing the second launch. A manhunt for Dr.Thrax begun. During this campaign, the US discovered the extent of the GLA. Having a secret chemical lab in the Ural mountains and being funded by Iranian oilfields, the GLA had began prepping three more Soyuz missiles from Dr. Thrax's base. The US attack prevented the launch here as well and Thrax was killed. It looked like the GLA had finally been defeated.

 

Now leaderless, many cells began warring for control. The strongest among these was that under the command of Mohammar 'Deathstrike'. Deathstrike would lead the GLA to it's greatest victory yet. After gaining total control of the GLA, he immediately began planning a campaign in Europe. In much of central Europe, the GLA began fighting against US forces. The scale of the attack stunned the world, nobody knew the GLA could amass such a force. Still, US forces stood firm and fought back the GLA. While the US was occupied with this, a small group of GLA led by the infamous mercenary Jarmen Kell, infiltrated a US base on the east coast of the US and hijacked a particle cannon. This was used to wipe out the carrier G.W.Bush in the Mediterranean.

 

The US government caved and began withdrawing it's troops, leaving Europe to the GLA. The GLA went on a looting and murdering rampage through much of Germany and central Europe. The EU had become too reliant on NATO and had little power to hold off the GLA. That changed when China entered the war. Pursuing the GLA across Europe, the Chinese went on a campaign to destroy the GLA and prevent them from gaining control of the abandoned US bases. Brutal street fighting occurred all over central Europe. The GLA launched a chemical attack on the Rhine, poisoning the river and causing the cities along it to become abandoned, in what was called the worst ecological disaster in history.

 

The Chinese efforts against the GLA led to their final stand in the city of Hamburg. Deathstrike left his trusted general Juhiziz to defend the city. As tens of thousands of Chinese troops poured in to root out the GLA defenders, the GLA made their last stand known. Hamburg was destroyed in a Nuclear attack organised by the GLA, killing nearly all of the chinese troops that went in after them, along with their own men.

 

One of Deathstrike's advisers, a man known as Sulaymaan, was not content for the GLA to end. He had Deathstrike killed and took control of the organisation, leading it to central Africa. There the GLA regrouped and formed again. When world powers began to carve up Africa, the GLA fought bitterly against attempts to take their territory, leaving nations to simply have it quarantined. This region of GLA controlled Africa became known as "The zone". The GLA tried to drive both the ECA and Russian forces from Africa, who they viewed as easy. They succeeded with the Russians, but the ECA hunted down the GLA so ruthlessly that they abandoned efforts to drive them out.

 

The zone is now a lawless region of the world, where the worst scum humanity has to offer gather, all under the control of the GLA and the warlord Sulaymaan. Any attempts to remove them from this area would lead to casualties too high for any one country to bear. Some PMCs who had operated in the Zone have reported locals performing blood rituals in honour of Sulaymaan. Another curious note was the extreme steps taken to eliminate poachers. This has led to a rise in a number of endangered species, which only complicates matters for anyone who tries to drive the GLA out.
