Unease Peanut
Hello all, I had not much to do so I decided to review the new game I just got. I recently recieved Titanfall in my mailbox and didn't hesitate to eject my former only game for the Xbox One (Bf4) and insert Titanfall. After watching some Youtube video's while it was installing, I really love the multi tasking on this console, I could finally boot up the game. After some general pressing start and A procedures I was finally able to get into the game. I really liked how they set up the tutorial but after 10 stations it was getting kinda boring and the Hammond industries (I belive that's the name) logo appearing after each station was a bit useless. After that was done I could finally play some myself. I launched the campaign and was really surprised to see that it was a multiplayer campaign! I was amazed by how they combined multiplayer gameplay with a campaign story line. Although I still don't know how the side your playing against views this campaign story. You really get immersed into the game. And the AI grunts and other troops make it look like a real battlefield. Although it's a bit weird how the AI decides to crouch down in the open and fire in the general direction of the enemy basicly painting a gaint bulls-eye on their heads. Lost a few matches in there, but hey I'm new to this. I decided to check out the regular multiplayer so I was able to decide what game mode to play. I went with the regular TDM like gametype. After some time playing I noticed how quickly you are able to obtain a Titan, and how easy it is to lose it again . My first Titan didn't last longer than 30 seconds as it was instantly crushed by two enemy titans and a Pilot who was riding me like a little piggy. After I got used to the game some more I was really able to defeat enemy titans and even achieve some awesome streaks and multi kills, which also invoke funny or witty comments from the officer talking through your HUD. And seeing enemies try to flee to their evac and seeing them get shot out of the air while they 'try' to escape really brought a smile to my face. Overall I really really enjoy this game. A fast pased FPS with gaint mechs? What's not to like about that?! For now I give this game a 8.5/10 and I highly recommend picking this game up and if you do not own the Xbox One yet buy the bundle. You will not be disappointed. Thanks for reading through this massive wall of text. It is the first review I've ever written and I'd like to get some tips and tricks for future reviews. That's it, Good day to you all! Post EDIT: Thanks to Total Mayhem for the better lay-out! Edited March 17, 2014 by Unease P34nut
GryffinGuy007
As a disclaimer, I was one of the biggest fans of this game when I was one of the first to see it and play it. I made a YouTube channel, spent heaps of time researching it, learning as much as I could etc. The Beta was fun, I'll admit. I was incredibly excited and was very happy to be playing once again. Now, the Beta didn't have much in it - a few weapons, couple of game modes and maps, etc. That was however, to be excused, as it was just a Beta. I honestly wasn't expecting much in the Beta, but it was genuinely fun for a while. However, after more and more matches, I got a little bored after reaching the maximum rank. There wasn't much to play towards after reaching the max rank - the attachments weren't all that exciting nor original and there weren't many of them either - I hoped this would change with the full game. However, to my disappointment, it didn't. The full release didn't provide much new on top of the already-accessed content of the Beta. A couple more weapons added in, a load of maps, some more game modes. The EXTREMELY limited amount of weapons is what really got to me - the large appeal of Call of Duty, is how many weapons there are - the options you can choose from; the customization. Here, there wasn't much at all, even coming from a CoD background. It was very reminiscent of the Crysis Multiplayer, as I can't seem to stress enough. The maps look great, however there's also a limited number of game modes. Without a SP Campaign, I definitely expected MUCH more from the Multiplayer and a load more game modes to keep players entertained. Then there's the AI - claimed to be next-gen AI that run on the Cloud, they were still the mindless creeps as demonstrated in the Beta. The Campaign wasn't anything special either, being very hard to pay attention to all the comms with the chaotic cluster of the battlefield. I enjoy the movement of the game as well as the original aspects, but it wasn't enough for me. Quite a significant disappointment, especially for me and the amount of dedication and enthusiasm I had for this game. I wanted this to be amazing, I really did, but after all the defending, I finally realize why this game isn't really what people expected. A shame, but not worth the full $60 price tag for me. A pretty average shooter with new mechanics. Gets a 6/10 from me.
Unease Peanut
I didn't play the beta so I cannot compare this to the full release. As for the people who haven't played the beta aswell this game is brand new and is full of new things to explore. MCPO Mayh3m
Nice review! I would like to recommend adding a few pictures to break up the text a little (Make paragraphs easily seen, plus it adds color and media to your post). Also, I would recommend centering your post to make it look a little cleaner. I'll message you what I recommend. Coldfreeze
You need to make a bigger difference between intro, core review and your final thoughts. the other thing is, is that this looks more like a report, than a review. Try to talk about features in the game, try explaining why and how to work and give a stastical end report. You rather have no intro at all and your final score is jammed some where at the end. fun review, but you need to improve!
