Delpen9
Remember that scrapped covenant vehicle called the Gorgon? Who wants it in Halo 5? just checked it out on wiki. you could really make a whole lot of mechs with all these scrapped designs .... this would be great as a Grunt vehicle. the grunt get into a hatch and ride it around. and instead of anti-aircraft, it could turn its shaft 90* and burst out like an overpowered needler with much weaker tracking ability. you could essentially dodge its attacks like you do a hunter blast, with a tad less success.

That actually doesn't sound bad, Grunts deserve something that can keep them alive for a few extra seconds.
SatanicBagels
This is what they are talking about if anybody doesn't know. After seeing these designs I kind of wish that 343 industries would have taken this path instead of making the Mantis for Halo 4. It appears that the Gorgon would have filled the same role (with a few modifications) while taking a good bit more skill to use. They also seem to not realize there was already something called the mantis xD That actually doesn't sound bad, Grunts deserve something that can keep them alive for a few extra seconds. Only Grunt Ultras and Jackal Zealots can ride it. Sorry other grunts and jackals, you will still be cannon fodder.

Such as the Wraith to the Scorpion.
Dark-Zero
That thing is weird lol. Not sure how i feel about it.
SilentGamer64
Meh, I'd prefer the Locust as the Covenant mech. "mini-scarab" just sounds more appealing to me than a "walking needler" lol.

Not an an undersized jaeger
Delpen9
Why can't we have both mechs? I would imagine the locust to be weaker than the mantis in some regards, such as the comparison to the wraith and the scorpion. If so, then we can squeeze this Gorgon into the game too, by giving the locust some backup. As another attempt to spice up gameplay, there should really be a way to 'split' the mantis. This suggestion would allow the 'legs' of the mantis to become a walking operational turret by removing the cockpit and rocket launcher function of the machine. You slide through the hatch into a rearranged turret on the legs of the mantis; while the torso region falls off(or flies into the sky and explodes) lol. The idea is okay, but i believe that this idea is too mech oriented for halo... just here to present it.
