Time for a quick history guys!  Way back in October of 2011, Zed the Evil Taco came up with an idea that followed what RvB did, but in 343i Forum form.  The basic idea was that each weekly episode would revolve around hot topics and mishaps here in the forum.  Sadly, the machinima never got made.  Zed dropped off which left me alone.  I wrote the first episode script and even made a solid reusable intro for the following episodes.  Twam and Spectral Jester were both cast as players, and even Caboose was cast to play Caboose from RvB.

 

I came across these files on my PC today and I wanted to share a piece of history with you guys before it gets lost.  So without further delay, here is the intro and the script.  Enjoy guys!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

343i Community Web Show

 

Episode #1: “This is it?”

 

 

 

 

 

(Credits are rolling)      - about 10 seconds.

 

While credits are rolling, we here metal clanging around and Zed

 

 

 

Zed: “What the hell, is this broken?  C’mon you piece of crap….(sigh), well this is great..

 

 

 

(Credits end and fade in from black)

 

(Fade in is on Zed standing in the middle of ForgeWord (gulch area)

 

Zed: “Ok is it rolling?  Are we on? Oh…..   Hey everyone, welcome to the first ever brand spanking new community web show called…uh.. 343i Community Web…

 

(Twin  enters from right and interrupts Zed, and stares at him)

 

Twin: “Dude….what are you doing?  Who the hell are you talking to?”

 

(Close up of Zed’s face)

 

Zed: “ Uh…I was introducing the show to our viewers?”

 

Twin:  “Viewers?” (looks around) “We’re in the middle of nowhere.  Since when do we have a show?  And who the hell would be watching us?  (talks fast)  “Is it Twam?  Where is he?  I swear to god if he’s stalking me again!”

 

Zed: “(Sigh), I meant I was talking to our home viewing audience.  You know, the people at home watching this on the internet.  I was welcoming them to the first episode.”

 

Twin: (looks around all crazy) Wait what?!  We have a web show!   When did this happen?  Why wasn’t I told?  I wanna be in it.

 

Zed: (looks down in disappointment and shakes head) “You are in it (char2 name), don’t you remember?  You signed up to co-host and write for it.”

 

Twin:  “Are you sure, that doesn’t sound like something I would volunteer for.”

 

 

 

Zed: “You mean you don’t remember this?”

 

(start flashback to yesterday)

 

(Zed and Twin are standing inside a base)  (panned shot so you see the entire 2 characters)

 

Zed: “So  Twin, I’m starting a new web show series.”

 

Twin: “ A new Web Hoe series!  Sweet!  I love hoes.  Hoes on the web!  Epic!”

 

(Zed starts correcting Twin on what he said and starts explaining it)

 

(Twin starts internal dialog over top of Zed explaining the series)

 

Twin: (internal dialog) “Hmmm I wonder what kind of hoes?  Fat ones?  Little ones?  Hah those midget ones are so funny.  I wonder if we’ll get to eat pie.  Maybe we’ll eat pie with midget hoes.  Oh man I am soooooo doing this.

 

(Zed stops explaining)

 

Zed: “Well?  What do you ssay?”

 

Twin: “Dude hell yeah!  I am sooo in!”

 

(flashback ends)

 

Twin: “ Yeah, I do vaguely remember something.  Hey come to think of it, where’s the pie?  Where are the hoes!!  It was all lies!!  (Char2 puts his head down.)  I’m sad now.”

 

Zed: “ Look, lets try to focus ok.  We’re doing the show now and we still need to help the audience understand what it is and why we are doing it.”

 

Twin: “Doing what”?

 

Zed: “The show.  Machinima”

 

Twin: “So basically it’s a RvB ripoff”.

 

Zed: “Dude this is nothing like RvB.  For one, we aren’t professional”.

 

Twin: “Good point”

 

Zed: “Number two, the cast is nothing like RvB.  It’s completely different.”

 

Twin:” Yeah… a bunch of guys standing around inside Halo doing stuff, and filming it.  Yeah completely different.” 

 

Zed: “It’s not the same!”

 

Twin: “Yeah…it’s the same.  Tell him Caboose”

 

(Camera pans left to reveal Caboose standing next to Zed)

 

Caboose: “I like pie”

 

Twin: “See?  It’s the same.  Caboose likes pie and that’s good enough for me.”

 

Zed : “ok, well three.  Instead of the stupid hijinx they do, we will be talking and going over community related issues from the forums.”

 

Twin: “So it’s a knock-off of a RvB PSA?”

 

Zed: “Yeah…NO!”

 

Caboose: “Yeah it’s the same”

 

(shot pans out and we see Twam and #4 walking in)

 

Spectral: (looks at Zed then Twin)“Hey, what are guys arguing about?”

 

Twin: “ Zed is trying to sell everyone the BS notion that this web show is in no way anything like Red vs Blue.”

 

(Twam and #4 look at eachother, and speak at the same time)

 

Twam: “Yeah it’s the same”

 

Spectral: “Yeah it’s the same”

 

(Zed looks away from everyone)

 

Zed: “ (sighs) “Can we just get on with this and foget about it”.

 

Twin: “ Forget what?  Oh that crappy RvB knock-off you wanted to do…..wait what?”

 

Zed: ” OK OK OK.  It’s somewhat similar.  Ok?  GOD!  We’re almost out of time and still haven’t even explained the show yet!”

 

(Twam looks around confused and then looks at Twin)

 

Twam: “We’re doing a show?”

 

(Twin looks at Twam)

 

Twin: “ That’s what I said.”

 

(Fades into black and credits start rolling)

 

Zed: “You guys suck.  See look!  The credits are already rolling and no one has any idea whats going on…

 

Caboose:” I have to pee”

 

Zed: “Shut up Caboose”

 

Caboose: “ Nevermind….I’m done”

I'm not quite sure why, but I enjoyed reading this, thanks for posting.

 

Twin if you want to reboot this or maybe start something similar that would showcase things like hot topics and mishaps around the forum, I'd be more than happy to help you out the best I can.

I would have loved to make this first episode and a whole series happen.  But I do understand that due to time constraints, that it would have to be limited to a bi-weekly show until summer of coarse.  If there are people in the forum willing to help get this made, I would gladly reprise my writing and continue to develop episodes.

Only problem is it being weekly..... 343iCF isn't the most organized forum.....

I like the burlesque comedy aspect to it. Its been done a myriad of times but that never snuffs how lively and energetic the formula is. This is something that would never get old, though some people will be compelled by the cliche scripting. Hopefully 343i isnt the bunch to be like that.

I would love to see this actually... Better than the rubbish we get on TV nowadays, especially on the discovery channel when they take a word and put "Pawn" after it and say it's a series that they fund.

I actually somewhat remember you guy's talking about this in the old shoutbox. I remember Zed, he was very smart and had great ideas... I hope he does comeback... But there could be something worse, what if he forgot his username and password? Anyways, glad you found this Twin. Perhaps you could share some other scripts?

Creating this would be a good idea, but the problem it faces would be that it can't exactly find itself an audience, the audience is either already there, or needs to go towards it.

 

Nonetheless, the slapstick comedy, as well as the comedic imagery, is fairly good. If this were to replace run alongside the weekly recap or something, I would gladly help out.
