Damn, dude. Season 11 was quite the reboot but it got into some cool action fairly quick. It'd be great to see what the new gang has been up to in our spare time, and I can't wait to figure out what the heck Carolina has been doing, for all those who know what I'm talking about.

The animation scenes in this look reaaally good. Season 9 was a bit of a smexy dry run, Season 10 was well polished, but Season 12's animation, such as Felix's bad*** swipe kick, Tucker's sword, and the reaaaaally good looking character intro thingies towards the back (<3 Carolina, Locust is awesome in an almost polar opposite of the Meta, but too bad no Church and Wash).

 

Can't wait for the 28th; I REAAAALLY want to know what happened to Wash :_(, Carolina and Church. I mean, sure, the Freelancer Saga is over and we're now centered over the war within Chorus but RT are too good of story tellers to let everything be a perfect reboot, especially after Season 10's events.

 

@Halo5 follower, and whoever else this may concern: If you're interested in Season 12, you're going to want to watch Season 11, which  acted as a 'continuation-reboot' that pretty much starts a new story arc.

 

(And even then, I'd suggest you go watch at the VERY least the recollection trilogy and freelancer saga, because there are some key character and plot points, and character development moments that you won't understand without much prior knowledge.)

If anyone who want's to get into RvB but doesn't want to watch every single previous episode and just wants to know a summary of the story beforehand, I'd be happy to sum up the previous seasons for you guys.

Thanks for the offer, but with school holidays fast approaching, i may a well just watch from season 1. And then when i manage to watch the first 11 seasons, it'll be fantastic timing for the 12 season to come up.

Ah, RvB. I only saw one of the seasons (Whichever one ended with the Director shooting himself), but my older brother marathon'd the whole series.

Think of this as just 'The misadventures of the Reds and Blues'. There aren't very many things you need to know - Just that Church, a Blue leader, dies from Caboose's teamkill and comes back as a Ghost, Tex is Church's "Girlfriend", she is a Freelancer, her AI is O'Malley/Omega and is always angry, and another Freelancer, Wyoming, and his AI, Gamma, tried to kill everyone. 

 

At episode 100, the end of season 5, Tex tries to run away with Tucker's parastic alien baby to use him to stop the human-covenant war because he is the chosen one, but the reds and blues convince the talking bomb Andy whom Tex built to blow up and send their Pelican crashing down. Tex 'dies.'

 

 

Season 6 - Here is where larger plots begin.

A year and more has passed since Tex's pelican has blown up. The reds and blues have sinced move out of their bases, Blood Gulch, re-assigned to other red and blue outposts. However, an Ex-Freelancer, Washington, shows up, being part of a new job - 'Recovery 1', who tries to recover basically what is military project classified stuff.

 

The problem here is that somebody attacked two red and blue outposts where the Pelican containing Tex and Omega crashed. Washington, as well as Project Freelancer, believes it to be the act of the Meta, the universe' scariest Mute, who has been running around stealing other Freelancer AI to boost his own powers.

 

Washington, to track down the Meta, who had take Omega, look for 'experts' to help. Experts include the retarded Caboose (A few 'ghosts' hopped in his head and shot everything), and Church, who can't snipe anything. The Meta notices, and hacks Project Freelancer's central command center to send a message to Sarge, the old Red Team leader, to round up his team to stop the Blues. Thus, the misadventures begin once again. 

 

The Meta then chases Agent South Dakota, who has taken Agent York (Who died helping Tex fight Wyoming in between Season 3-5)'s healing unit and AI Delta, who is revealed to be a fragment of a real AI, being it's "Logic". Church, Caboose and Washington attack the Meta, fend him off, and then Church kills South, who had shot him in the back before, claims Delta, and blows up her body to prevent enemy recovery.

 

Delta deduces that the Meta had glitched out during their fight, and is needing power to help run all the equipment and AI he's stolen, and is headed towards a Wind Power facility (Zanzibar, anyone?). The Blues chase him there, and the Reds intercept them, intending to fight this out again. The Meta, who nearly fell against a Blue ambush, uses this time to power himself up again, and attacks both the Reds and Blues, who ally themselves to fight off the Meta. Caboose is knocked unconscious, Delta has been stolen (And he does point out that "If I am taken, if I see you again, I may not be on your side." and Church goes into Ghost form to hop in Caboose' head to try and see if there is anything to find. There, he sees that Delta has left a playback hologram, and that he has deduced that Church is a 'ghost', predicted all his questions, and finally reveals that 'Memory is the Key'. He wakes up, Washington calls bs on him being a Ghost, and after being told 'Memory is the Key', realizes where to go next.

 

The crew assault the Freelancer Central Command, Washington saying that it's where the Meta would show up next because Epsilon, another AI unit, is being stored (It's cheaper to store than to destroy) there. However, while the Reds and Caboose hack the doors and closes them off from guards, Washington, within the underground storage, tells Church that he isn't the Ghost, but that:

 

Church is the Alpha - the original, Smart AI whom all these other fragments came from. Wash reveals that he had been the freelancer who inherited the Epsilon AI, who contained all the 'memories' of the Alpha, and gave it to wash upon being implemented. Wash explains that the Director of Project Freelancer wanted more AI, and so tortured his smart AI with scenario upon scenario of stress to basically induce a personality split. When Alpha was too angry, Omega was spat out. When he couldn't handle being lied to anymore, Deceit was out, being Gamma, Wyoming's AI, and when he couldn't take the logic of all of the situations any more Delta came out. Epsilon inherited all the memories that the Alpha split off, and that was given to Washington, who knew all the crimes the Director had commited.

 

Outside, Washington stages the Reds and Blue's escape, sending them away in warthogs carrying the Epsilon AI, which would be used as evidence against Project Freelancer, while he fought off the Meta, baiting him by revealing that other AI were stored within.

 

Down in the storage, Church (Alpha), in ghost form, goes into the Meta's head to distract him, while Washington activates an electromagnetic pulse to wipe out the Meta's AI. The Meta ends up just an insane psycho now, Washington is arrested for having destroyed all the AI, and his evidence is nowhere to be seen as Caboose tries to build a new best friend with Epsilon.

 

 

Season 7

The crew, after some mishaps in there new base, Valhalla, find Donut, an old member gone from much of Season 6, saying that Tucker, another old member gone from season 6, is trapped and needs help in the 'Sands' (Sandtrap). The Reds and Blues decide to respond to Tucker's distress call, and go to help him fight off a prick named CT, who is looking for an alien artifact in Sandtrap.

 

Caboose finds it first, uploads Epsilon to it, and Epsilon is revealed to have inherited the Alpha's memories as well from Blood Gulch and Season 6, during their close contact at the end of Season 6. Epsilon is now effectively Church, as well as Alpha, and he realizes that there's something in his head he needs to get out. Even still, CT is being a prick to them, so Church ends up using his face as a laser to kill CT and bury him.

 

 

Season 8

 

  Reveal hidden contents

Church, who needs to get something out of his head, tries to see if it's Valhalla he needs to go to, but it really isn't. He hallucinates a black armored figure walking around. Caboose has tagged along with him, and decides to call Washington, who is inside maximum security prison. Wash deduces that Caboose kept the Epsilon AI, and states to the committee chairman of UNSC projects and the like that he has another piece of evidence that he can take - Epsilon. Epsilon and Caboose go back to the desert, to continue following Church's memories, but Sarge is so stupid he makes an absurd guess that Washington has teamed up the The Meta to find the Epsilon AI at Valhalla - which is correct.

 

Simmons is attacked and held prisoner, alongside Doc, and the Reds alongside Church stage a rescue mission which only Simmons returns from. Donut is shot to 'death' here. Wash and Meta decide to carry along Doc, who is a Doctor, to help figure out why the Meta is glitching out again. Doc says it's because all the equipment that Meta has can't be run without an AI, and Epsilon is the only one around.

 

The crew head off towards a seemingly abandoned Project Freelancer offsite storage facility, where Church realizes that the thing he needs to get out of his head is in fact Tex. And so, Epsilon-Tex is spat out and into a robot body, and she is obviously confused at everything, and so beats up everyone.

 

After getting their heads cooled down a bit, Tex shows how she can't understand everything about who she is, why she's here, and so wants to find the Director, who is still alive, and kill him for his crimes. She figures out the only two people who know where the Director is at is Wash and the Meta, and so ditches the reds and blues with Church to Avalanche, where Tex reveals is the Project Freelancer facility where she originally went rogue from Project Freelancer to try and save the Alpha from the torture. She shoots Church in the foot, activating Washington's (Who is at the desert) recovery beacon, who leads him, the Meta and Doc towards Tex, where an epic battle ensues between the three Freelancers. 

 

The Reds and Blues, at the offsite storage facility, finds information that reveals that practically everything that happened in Seasons 1 to 5 were in fact Simulation scenarios that were there just to test the skill of the Freelancers by sending them into 'mock combat' between two armies of Red and Blue. They, too, see that they don't know their reasons for existing, but decide to fly towards where Church and the others are to fight Wash and save their friends.

 

Wash and the Meta manage to stab Tex with their capture unit, which is kind of a USB that sucks the data out of soemthing. However, because of Tex's nature as a 'Ghost' as well, the Meta uses the unit on himself, regaining his power of cloaking. He defeats Wash, but the Reds and Blues manage to send him off the cliff in Avalanche to his death.

 

Church decides to go inside the Capture Unit to try and bring Tex back, since he still doesn't know the reason for her existence, or how. Wash, realizing that without Epsilon he's just going to go back to jail, takes Epsilon's armor and joins Blue team. They fly back towards Valhalla, but they meet a little surprise as they do...

 

 

Season 9

 

  Reveal hidden contents

Church and Tex, within the unit, meet up again in a recreated simulation of Blood Gulch (Halo: Reach Hemorrhage) and go about their usual banter alongside the Reds and Blues. The Capture Unit, which was dying due to the combat between the Meta, Tex and Wash, is sending the world into apparent Disarray.

 

Meanwhile, Season 9's second storyline is a massive flashback that reveals the history of Project Freelancer.

 

South Dakota and North Dakota attack an insurrection base that has details on something Project Freelancer wants to retrieve - revealed in Season 10 to be an Engineer from the Forerunners. They first attack the base, then fly back to their Space-faring Frigate, which acted as the then-main base of Project Freelancer. During this time, the Alpha is still the Alpha. However, Tex appears to seemingly no reason just one day, and joins the project designated as Texas. She's OP, defeats everyone, and the next plan is a go - they (North, South, Carolina, Wash, Maine (Meta), Wyoming, York and CT (She's a girl here O.o) retrieve the Engineer. During this time, Carolina, the previous Top agent in Project Freelancer (A competitive bunch) is kicked out of the spot by Texas. They end up forming a rivalry.

 

In present day, Church finally decides that Tex is always in every iteration of the Church's - Director Leonard Church, Alpha Church based off the Director's brain, and Epsilon church - because the Director's lost love, Allison, created a memory imprint so powerful that when Alpha was created, the memory of Allison, became an AI of it's own: Beta, designated as Texas. He decides that it's time he let go of the past, and with that, Tex fades away once and for all in present day just before the world ends.

 

Or not. Turns out the world ending is really just a rescue mission by the crew to open up the capture unit in the maximum security prison, having been convinced by modern-day Agent Carolina, who, for all that the Director did, wants to kill him herself.

 

 

Season 10

In the past, the AI's begin to come into being as the Director begins his torture sequence, inspired by the knowledge that you could split an AI, by Tex. As they do, the Freelancers begin to attack the Insurrectionists. But when they do, CT defects, she having hacked Project Freelancer's databases to learn of all the crimes the Director has done. She is killed when Carolina and Tex chase them down, and her armor is then used by the Insurrectionist leader, who had been the one looking for the alien artifact in Season 7.

 

In modern day, the crew begin to have doubts about about Carolina's leadership, seeing her as a bloodthirsty psycho on a vengeance streak, while Church and Carolina continue on clues, and Church's memory, to figure out where the Director is.

 

In the past, Tex takes a look at a copy of the files CT had, and realizes her origins as the Beta AI - a 'shadow' of Allison. She also learns of the things that the Director has done, and decides to go rogue to try and rescue the Alpha. She attacks the Frigate that Project Freelancer is on, and is supported by two others - North Dakota and York. North fights against South while York is defeated by Carolina, each of whom had feelings for each other. Tex and Carolina then face off while Maine's AI, Sigma (Who is voiced by Frodo in the LOTR trilogy ), decides it's time to achieve Metastability, and beguns to try and steal AI from the other Freelancers.

 

Tex and Carolina's fight disrupts the Frigate's navigations, sending it crashing into the planet's polar ice cap (Animation Problems beware. RvB has a really weird planet/location continuum.) and ending at the glacier that eventually becomes Avalanche seen at the end of Season 8. Tex tries to save the Alpha, and has a chance, but realizes that the Alpha had been damaged to the point that he was pretty much going to fall asleep, and that he had just about forgotten everything due to purging Epsilon. She leaves, only to find the Meta taking Carolina's AI before kicking her off the cliff. Tex runs, and the Meta laughs.

 

The Director decides that it is time Project Freelancer rebuilds following the incidents, and sends Alpha, who now thinks he is called 'Church', in a robot body to Blood Gulch, a simulation trooper outpost, and sends Agent Florida, Captain Butch flowers (He dies before season one when Church accidentally kills him) to guard Church.

 

In present day, Epsilon finally remembers everything that has happened throughout all this time, and with that figures out that the Director is in truth inside the offsite storage facility where they visited in Season 8. Church and Carolina enter, and find that the Director has continued trying to create Tex, ending up with an army of robotic Tex's who just wanna beat things up. The Reds and Blues follow, and together manage to hold them off long enough for Epsilon to do what Alpha did to the Meta, entering Tex and interacting with her AI the same way Tex did to Alpha at the crashed ship, and so finds that Tex is at the point where she no longer remembers anything. Church convinces Tex to simply 'go to sleep', and with that, all the robots shut down.

 

Church and Carolina advance towards the Director, who is still trying to bring back Allison. He realizes that he was very close to success with Project Freelancer, but didn't find what he was looking for. Carolina is revealed to tbe the Director's daughter, and he convinces her to leave him her pistol, before shutting down everything that ever was of Project Freelancer.

 

The Reds and Blue decide it's time to go home.

If you ask me Red vs. Blue has gotten better each episode. There's always better action scenes. I can't wait for this to come out. Thanks for the video.
