I'm not sure if we have any Spartan-IIIs. Yes, they're just not mentioned. This is to make the story not unrealistic by making the reader think and put it in parts that make sense to them. So you reference things about the Spartan-IIs/IVs, like their training or history to help the reader understand? Sorry, I'm just a massive Halo Lore fan.
