Sniper0092
My first review here, there will be spoilers. I didn't get to the very beginning, I saw the part when they tried to kill him with a bomb but that's good enough. (Damn traffic...) The story is that scientists find an ancient pod-like structure deep underground. Lots of radiation is hovering around it so they didn't think of killing it, a risk of spreading the radiation was high. Bryan's character is Joe Brody, a scientists that works with his wife in a power plant that stores nuclear power in Japan. Strange tremors that have happened constantly hit the plant, releasing stuff that looked like gas that kills his wife. Then the movie skips 14 years, showing the relationship between the son and dad. The son bails him out because he was in a quarantined zone looking for answers that revolve around the strange events years ago; he is obsessed. He takes his son investigating, only to be caught by Japanese specials. The son and dad are taking in to the place holding the pod. During this, the thing is absorbing radiation. Hoping to stop it, the scientists launch an EMP, only to see that the animal gets free. Destroying the base and killing the father. The movie takes place in Hawaii, showing that Godzilla is following the same MUTO, flying to the mainland (Yes it can fly...) Later on, after waiting, Gojira shows himself near the Muto, roaring loudly. (It so awesome and loud!!!!!) Later another monster is revealed to be able to breed, nesting in San Francisco, which is where the final fight takes place. This is the best fight because of the amount of destruction. And Godzill's last move was the best! He opened the mouth of the MUTO and shot fire in, FATALATY!!!!!!! Godzilla is injured during the battle, surrounded by survivors. Only to get up and head back to the water. Ok so the story was good, I like how it has something to do with nuclear power, like how the monsters were attracted to it. But I wish they took advantage of it more, like maybe shoot fire like Godzilla. Also during some fights, they teased us by cutting out all parts of the fight. Like when G meets the first MUTO, it just shows parts o the fight on a news channel.....It makes me sad because I was expecting long fights, or at least many fights that are short. Pacific Rim did it better, even had good special effects about the same level. The humans were good, even if the movie focused on them a lot. Bryan's character died, that really saddened me because it made it seem like he was the main, main dude besides the son, but the son is focused more. It's not a bad thing, he was cool, and this movie ad good acting btw, but I wish the dad and the son were alive, even the mom. This movie is SO worth seeing, just not exactly what I hoped for months, but really good!!!! I give this a 4/12 out of 5. It was dark, fun, and very well scripted. A bit overhyped. Gareth said the movie would make me cry, but it was not THAT sad. This is his first really big movie, so I forgive him, can't wait to see when he makes a sequel. Also, it didn't show enough of his origins. Like in the other movie it explained he was a iguana, an old movie showed he was a dinosaur called gorosaurus, but this just says he is an ancient thing of some sort. This and Pacific Rim are equal, having things they both don't have. G has a better story and more developed characters, while PR had better choreography and action then G. Both are good, both amazed me. That's it, I am done.

Is not JL
Bryan's character is Joe Brody, a scientists that works with his wife in a power plant that stores nuclear power in Japan. I'm gonna assume that you're wrong in the nuclear power thing because otherwise this entire movie is scientifically lmao give this a 4/12 out of 5. O.o 4 out of 12 out of 5 I don't get it. From the plot description you've given - and it's the only one i've seen on the web - there's absolutely no explanation of where Godzilla comes from? We only know of the MUTO existing underground near Japan, and then it comes due to radiation and and EMP.....and then flies to hawaii and San Francisco for some unknown reason? And then conveniently there's another monster who can make babies already in San Francisco, unexplained as well, and Godzilla decides for no apparent reason to go over..... :/ As to the other reviews I've read, I don't think the acting and writing is that good. Apparently the first act is the good bit, and then the rest is an action movie with no real feelings. Hmmm....... I'll go see it some time maybe. I'll talk about it then. The two monsters were mates, and for some reason G wanted to "keep balance in the world" I guess because he felt threatened. Also his origins could have been explained in the beginning parts I missed.
