Aloyds Negative
I bought an xbox console and a copy of Halo 3 from this guy that lives in my community because he was leaving for college and selling it really cheap ($150), so I get home and hook it all up, and it says that my console is permenantley banned from Halo or something, then something else pops up and says my account is banned too (I was using the account already on the xbox, I even put money on it to change the gamertag). How can I go about fixing this because I don't have money to go and buy more games and I have no way to contact this guy because he already left. Am I ******? Sikslik7
Well, it looks like he ripped you off, majorly. You see, unless he gave your the account email and password for it (as well as the Microsoft profile password), as well as other information, he basically just sold you an Xbox 360 (which sounds like it may have issues with it). If you don't have the email or passwords, you cannot contact Microsoft Support to get it fixed or anything else. If you do happen to have these, change the passwords as soon as possible! He may try to move the account back onto another Xbox once he is back at college and then change them or do something else that will screw you over, and then you have lost the account as well. As for the banning, you need to double check that. Figure out what the ban is for and for how long (Most times it is just a temp ban). To get better help from people, write down the exact messages you get concerning the ban.

Twinreaper
The console you bought is likely either JTag'd or had the dvd firmware replaced, resulting in you purchasing a banned console ID from Microsoft directly. You should have had this guy boot it up and play something online before buying it. No wonder he sold it to you so cheap. Wait...what college kid leaves behind his 360?!?
