Buns
Welcome all to the 38th 343i Weekly Community Poll! Last weeks(err 4 weeks…) poll members were asked by the stripes; what their favorite vehicle was to ever appear in Halo game. Here are the results of the poll: Machine Gun Warthog! Lets read what one of our forum presidents had to say: Yoshi1176, on 16 Jun 2014 - 12:13 PM, said: The Machine gun warthog, it is an original and it has served its purpose on many occasions. In multiplayer its well balanced because if you have a good teammate in the warthog it could be devastating, but also if you have a bad driver or gunner you will be picked off quickly. It also requires some skill to drive over and around all those rocks in order to avoid flipping, or when you do flip to come out right side up. So much amazing news has been released since the last poll. The hype train for MCC just gained new passengers and its on a One way trip to our nostalgia clouded minds. This week we just have to mention some of the most exciting news yet and what implications it could have for future Halo games! Should 343i add more fun additions to the Halo sandbox like the GunGoose or make the perfect competitive Halo arena experience? Please leave your thoughts along with your vote down below! Deadline: 7/20/2014 @ 9pm EST Thank you so much for participating in this weeks poll. See you all next week! Have a question, complaint, or suggestion pertaining to this or next weeks poll? Message: Bnus Also I know a lot of you may be asking. Where is BZ1? Isn’t this his poll? Yes it is! Me and probably other staff members will be taking care of the poll since BZ1 is quite busy at the moment. I hope you don’t mind the slight discrepancy. I did my best to keep the poll the exact format BZ1 has perfected.
Caboose The Ace
I would prefer to get the core gameplay sorted out before adding new vehicles and stuff of the like. Btw FIRST ! 343 should concentrate on the arena gameplay first then fun stuff like the Gungoose later.
rrhuntington
I don't think the gungoose was much of a distraction for arena play work because it looks like it took a very small portion of time to create. Should the majority of their time be made getting everything straight and balanced? Of course. But there should always be something fun added in as well. I wouldn't worry too much about the guns on the goose taking away from their main focuses.
Unease Peanut
Just a few bibs and bobs here and there are fun and all but 343i shouldn't go overboard with it. If they'd add a ton of 'funny' it would just be trying too hard. I think 343i has added enough for the time being... Or maybe a few more funzy's. I_Make_Big_Boom
When they're done with fixing up the H2A gameplay they should continue to do more of the Gungoose things. It's not like it's the original multiplayer. H2A is the one getting changes.
Coldfreeze
I love the Gungooses and seeing them adding more stuff would make H2A the first full fledged mp Halo for the Xbox One. However, It should be the ultimate Halo Arena Competitive MP it is known for.
Vaulting♥Frog
I really wish people would use competitive in the correct manor. Any multiplayer game is competitive. You are playing to win. Fact of the matter is that Halo 5 will be competitive already. Now if you are trying to talk about the MLG aspect of it then that is a different story. If you want some sort of ultra high level area for gameplay that uses a specific setting the go for it but I don't think it should be a focus. Instead I personally feel that they should make the game as enjoyable as possible instead of giving people more fuel for their e-peen and e-boob contests.
Akali
I would like to see some things silly in forge for Halo 5: Guardians that you won't be able to find in multiplayer. It would make custom game a little bit more fun if your on gungooses shooting at someone with a gun that fires explosive chickens or a assault rifle modified to fire the flood forms from Halo 3. Would be so fun. So overall I would say add more fun additions to the Halo sandbox like the GunGoose but focus on the perfect multiplayer experience (no copying CoD with custom loadouts and no attachments if you're adding them. We saw you at E3)
Guts
Definitely. It would make for great customs.
ShadowFiend216
I love the ideas they're coming up with, but as fun as they might be, Halo 2 is my favorite of all time, and I would like it to stay to the original game that I fell in love with as much as possible. Is not JL
I don't see how this fun addition isn't helping carve the perfect arena experience.
Buns
I don't see how this fun addition isn't helping carve the perfect arena experience. I knew you would make a comment like that. Well do you see Ghosts in MLG? Did we see a Mongoose in the Halo 4 Championship? In Reach MLGv7 settings are people using Falcons on Sanctuary? Of course all of these are vehicle examples but fun additions to the Halo sandbox aren't exactly meant for an Arena Shooter. If that doesn't help you realize my point then... GunGoose =/= Arena Gameplay Anyways please leave the thread for voting only andddd Have a question, complaint, or suggestion pertaining to this or next weeks poll? Azaxx
I say perfect a combative arena, Halo 4 was an experiment to see how the Halo community evolved and matured, and clearly showed that it was in the heavy favour of competitive play. So for 343i to be successful in having a large amount of players on their servers for an extended amount of time, they need to perfect a competitive arena type multiplayer. Once they do that, they can add in smaller fun things like the Gungoose (or bringing back the Spectre dammit), but in order to keep the players, an arena is the top priority. GunGoose =/= Arena Gameplay Except Arena gameplay is where both sides have equal and fair footing, and having a Gungoose in the mix doesn't change that. MLG don't use vehicles because they like to focus on small, condensed combat. Give people loadouts - that breaks arena gameplay. Having something on the map doesn't. This is just the same as weapon pick ups, power-ups, etc. the example you draw your idea of an 'arena' simply doesn't utilize vehicles. TDM
I love the Gungoose. Here is how I think of it, why run out into a battlefield unarmed on an quad that will be a big death mission? When you can just strap some guns to front and get some extra fire. Now, I am not Tucker from RvB, but I could say this thiing can really pick up... Kills. This is an effective type of vehicle, you have speed, traction, and now fire-power! Who could've asked for more? Now to just dissect this a bit, let's just take into mind that this is a Mongoose with guns. This will most likely have the fire-power of dual wielding SMGs, since the guns strapped onto the front appear to be SMGs of some sort. But the thing is, Mongooses are pretty weak against quite a few odds, so it probably wouldn't be safe going up against a.. Scorpion per say. But this has the ability to mow down any foot soldier in your path... Right...? Not exactly, as a mongoose can explode quite easily, Rocketeers beware. Another thing, you'll have a passenger on the back too, well... Most likely. If not, the bumper sticker for "How's my gungoosing..?" was too intimidating. But, with a passenger you'll most likely be able to dominate the battlefield if you are careful and have a good approach tactic. Just don't charge out screaming "Kill the reds or kill the blues". Those aren't the Best Laid Plans. And on a side note, maybe the guns on the front will be customizable? Take the Warthog for instance, it was a normal chaingun vehicle which became a Gauss hog, then sooner or later a rocket hog! Maybe the gungoose will have different variations such as SMGs, Lasers... Maybe even plasma pistols! Or if you want to be really loud, how about two rockets? If a spartan can't dual wield those, a gungoose surely can! ~Assault Rifle~ But I'm not done there, with the new addition of the AR maybe we can see those on the Gungoose too? The AR had been added to compete with our mid range weapons, like the BR, Magnum.. That stuff. The AR can surely make a big impact since it will be able to hopefully even out the battles of the past and make them more fun or fair in the future... Who knows? But YES! The new sandbox features should most definitely stay, as they add more variety, fun, and creativity into the field! Long live 343!! P.S. Yes, I did need to bring up the Assault Rifle.. What forum dumby wouldn't? Just kidding, a blue friend with my helmet paid me.
Buns
Arena gameplay is where both sides have equal and fair footing, Yes you're right on that one. My nearsightedness completely overlooked this.
Gemini Dragons
All, i am looking for is too have a good time, if the gungoose can provide that, than it is by all means welcome. In all honesty I can't wait to see how the gungoose works in gameplay.
