I'd like to take a moment to not be a spooky animatronic bear and be a nice animatronic bear.

November will be here at the end of the week. Over the past few years, men have started to grow mustaches during the month to raise awareness for men's health. It has grown from a small group in Australia to a worldwide event, from a few people to millions.

Now why am I making a thread about this? I noticed that we support breast cancer awareness month, but do not do anything for men's health awareness month... for Movember. So I took it upon myself to try and organize an event this upcoming month. This will be my third year running growing a 'stache.

And I'm throwing down the gauntlet. I want YOU to join in on the mustachioed madness! Anyone who is willing and able, I encourage you to grow a 'stache! If you already have one, get rid of it and start from scratch.

If you're participating, I encourage you to post a first day picture and a final day picture. If you want to post any additional pictures, feel free to do so. And if you are unable to grow a mustache yet want to support the cause, then draw one on your profile picture and/or signature.

So let's get to work and show off some 'staches!

Until then, I will resume scaring the living daylights out of people.

"Nice animatronic bear."

*Insert Toreador March Here*

But all jokes aside about your malicious murders and shocking jumpscares, this event is a for a very important cause.

I tried to participate in this last year, but the school is pretty strict regarding facial hair. I'll ask around if it would be possible to participate in Movember, but no promises.

I'm liking the response so far, everyone! Like I said, if you want to support the cause but can't grow a mustache, you should draw one on your profile picture if possible. Perhaps our fine art department can cook something up?

I don't do Movember. I do no-shave November.

The only time of year that my fiery red beard can grow.

I'd do the same thing if Movember.com's rules didn't prohibit any facial hair that wasn't a mustache. -.-

This could be a new start. I personally support breast cancer, but due to the lack of any support for men, I don't go public on my support. I believe in equality.

And for that,

I'm in.

I'll show the support.

Great post, by the way. I encourage these precedents.

Great idea to bring it to everyone's attention Maestro!

Here we go! You can see a faint dark region on my upper lip already, although that could be lighting. But nonetheless, it feels like sandpaper after a mere 24 hours. And behold, an image of Maestro in the flesh!

And as a destructive friend once said: "Gentlemen. Start your mustaches!"

PS: Before anyone asks, I have a Super Mario Bros. 3 poster and a Grumpy Cat poster on my door.
