BeckoningZebra1
If Chief dies I'd suspect it'd be in Halo 6, but I'm convinced that he'll be true to the old saying: "Spartans never die, they just go missing in action."
ct2515
I think that is way to expected. I think if not in 5 in the 7th because people have been predicting that sense halo 3. I hope the Chief dose not die he has a long life ahead giving the days Tec. I think 343 will make it a surprise or not expected .
Yoshi1176
If Chief dies I'd suspect it'd be in Halo 6, but I'm convinced that he'll be true to the old saying: "Spartans never die, they just go missing in action." This is what I'm thinking. I doubt they would kill him off, he would probably go missing or something like BZ1 said. If they did kill him off it would be something very majestic and they wouldn't replace him, especially with a character that will only have 1-2 games. depressant
I doubt he will die in Halo 5, but in another post I stated that I thought he could die in the last or 10th game of Halo alongside Arby
BerriesBoo
I don't think he'll die in Halo 5, He might go missing again and have Agent Locke to search him during the missions or something.
Fishy
If he dies. That would be a major plot twist and they would have to recover greatly in Halo 6 to outdo what they did. However, it would be interesting. If John does die, the Arbiter could be the replacement character in Halo 6, since he does have a vital role. Even though he's only playable in two games. E-Runner
Nah, the Chief will not die. But if he does, it could only be in a sacrificial manner. Maybe he will go MIA in something involved with the Precursors or some Forerunner shield world/etc.
Caboose The Ace
Ugh..... Lets get a few things out the way... 1 Why would they kill Chief off in the first place anyone with any sense would know that, not trying to be rude but I have to get that out there. I say that because they just started his character dev. 2 Why must he sacrifice himself or go Mia in H5 or H6? That is so generic, and who likes generic stuff anyway? generic is boring. Why not have Chief give up? Like give up on Humanity and go Mia because he has given up at the end of H5? 3 What is this stuff with Chief and Thel being buddies? the only meaningful interaction they had was when Chief pointed a gun in his face in H3. E-Runner
But then they fought side by side for quite a while. They don't need deep emotionally revealing psychological talks to become more than mere allies. Fighting is all a Spartan knows. I agree Chief will not die/be killed, but what I meant to say was he may appear to be dead or MIA again, in some drastic manner, while in reality he isn't. Caboose The Ace
I want specifically talking about you but whatever.... Arby and Chief are not friends in anyway. They are just 2 men who fought with one another every now again by real convenient circumstances..... If anything Chief and Johnson are friends..... ct2515
well arby dose " I call him friend " of some thing on that line so maybe not BFFs but on the beginning of halo 2 ann I really screwed that one up sorry point is in halo 2 arbiter says " I even called him friend "
Caboose The Ace
Arby in the trailer calls Chief a friend because for some reason the Halo community classes them as friends^ Their relationship was strictly professional. The only friends Chief has ever truly had is the Spartans in Blue team and Cortana I suppose.
rrhuntington
Ar-Are... We really doing this again Caboose? They are friends, that do stuff together, like killing monkeys, and lighting flood fires. Their friendship happened upon action not words! I admit it's not a very strong friendship, but the magnitude of helping each other's species out of the ordeals in Halo 3 should constitute the relationship title of at least "Friend". No one said they were "Hang out, play some Xbox, Mtn Dew and Doritos BFFs." In regards to the OP, I highly doubt Chief will die in Halo 5. There is no certainty he will ever die in Halo, but Halo 5 seems a bit early. Like Caboose said, In Halo 4 he just started to gain character in the games. I'd rather them not throw that away already. I would have to hand it to 343 though, if he died in the next game that would be one hell of a twist.
Darkchief117
There's going to be Halo 6 and 343 even said that although Locke is in H5 Chief is still the main hero and I doubt he will die at the end of this if they are going to make Halo 6, it wouldn't make sense for Chief to die in 5. Ailean
"What does John have to do with this? ...you want to replace him." "His file reads 'Missing In Action'." - Catherine Halsey Spartans never die, like Halsey said ''they're just missing in action''.So I think John will ''never'' die,the only worst (for me) and possible change in Halo franchise is REPLACE. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZ8Jl7ljcJM Just to add something, why I'm thinking an interrogator is actually Agent Locke? Well now it has more sense https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pi5vMYbQ8bY
DemonCatursday
Spartans never die, they just go MIA For serious though, I think it would be in a later game, along side Thel' Vadam Adding on more, I think it would be cooler if he chose to stop fighting, have it be in a legendary-only cinematic and have it be him setting up camp somewhere after the events of H6/7, so he would be "MIA" but only by his own terms. XI James 116
No, Chief will not die in Halo 5. Halo 6 maybe but I think he'll survive until the last game which is either 6 or 9...Halo 4 brought him back, it would be suicide for 343i to kill him off the 2nd game of the reclaimer trilogy!

I totally agree with you! Whoever played Halo 4 knows everything.Reclaimer trilogy just started and John 117 is in focus of everything. He is the ONE.There is far greater chance for Chief to get retired than being murdered.Take care mate

TWD26
Don't get me wrong I love Halo and the chief, but they're not going to get rid of him unless they have a good money incentive to do so, you can't forget that this game and universe is produced by a large company.
