This game is so broken

Let me start by saying I have been waiting for this game for as long as it was announced. One of the main reasons I chose Xbox One over the PS4, but my I fear I have been let down for one reason. Multi-player is broken.

 

I remember playing halo 1 on the first xbox so much that the firing of the pistol became second nature. The shotgun was an extension of my devious mind and sniping meant I can exact furious revenge from a distance. I was good. Sometimes too good. As the years progressed and additional chapters of the halo universe were unleashed, my arsenal of weapons and skills grew with each iteration. Maybe it's the years passed, nostalgia has gotten the best of me, but MCC is not my favorite games. It could be I've become rusty and my skills have dwindled away like a peppermint in a washing machine. But with the problems this game faces not only in gameplay but the technical aspect.

 

Now, on to the problems.

 

The first and foremost problem: Auto Aim.

All of the games suffer from this feature but the older ones, especially Halo CE, are the truest indication that this should be addressed immediately. I have noticed this has become a standard with FPS games and that's fine, but this should be allowed to be turned off. Sometimes even with that option the game still suffers from this annoying feature. I am a true Halo CE fan, the main reason this game was purchased was to play this online in its classic form but AA has ruined MP. Times where aiming at an enemy, AA would kick in and I would go from aiming at ones head to being pushed down to their feet. Or I would be trying to pin my reticle on the enemy and it was like forcing two polar ends of magnets together, the reticle wouldn't even target the enemy in front of me. Aside from Halo CE, halo 2 and 3 are fine examples of when aiming at one target, having another target run in front and you are pulled away to shoot the crossing enemy, which inevitable leaves you with shooting two enemies and being killed quicker. This is my biggest problem and one that can't be ignored.

 

The 2nd biggest problem is the inconsistent hit boxes while shooting someone. Headshots being the obvious one. Unless you and a target are perfectly still, the registration of hitting someone is completely off base and inconsistent. Going from shooting someone in the head to seeing a marker of you shooting their leg when nothing has changed. Having being killed by a rocket before it even explodes because it's trajectory crosses path with the area around you. Being dead before the rocket as blown up the walls or ground around you.

 

These are the two major problems. Others include respawn locations (which is the bane of all fps games so it's easily dismissed), the constant errors after a matchmaking game ends and attempts to start again ( if one person drops you are either left with an unbalanced team or a frozen loading screen), grenades being trapped in walls because you threw them near an edge or corner of the map (this is mostly a halo 2 problem, was a problem in the original and still wreaks havoc on this updated version) and many more.

 

I don't write this because I hate the game, claim to be the best at all halo games, or demand a refund on my purchase. I bought the game and was well aware I took full responsibility of all the games faults. I write this because I have always been a true and loyal fan of this series and believe this game was pushed to market to beat this holiday rush, launch date of their new halo game in order to drive up interest and refresh people's mind that halo is an awesome game, and to capitalize on the lack of quality FPS products currently on the market for the next Gen consoles.

 

My hopes is someone in a position to maintenance this game sees this post and recognizes some of these glaring issues. It's not a kid crying to his momma because the fat kid stole my ball, it's the plea of a true gamer needing his beloved series be adjusted for everyone to experience them as they were meant to be.

 

There would have been more on Halo 4, but unless you play big team battle, which I dont, halo 4 is unplayable on the current MM playlists.

 

I hope for more updates and fixes to this gem but as for me it is hardly playable in its current condition.

I'm with you... I been on here ranting and people probably think I'm a crybaby because I didn't take your approach... I been playing since a child myself and it erks me bad that it's so unplayable... Microsoft really needs to stop pushing unfinished games on us... I like yourself have waited for the mcc for awhile.. Mainly bscause my love for halo I bought this overpriced game console... I'm a single parent so blowing a wad of cash on things like this console or a game for this next generation is a tough thing to do and mildly selfish... So when I get a game and it's junk I'm highly offended

At last, a well thought out post about problems one has experienced! I have seen countless rage "I w1ll return 7he gAmeee!"... "this iz UNACCEPTABLEEERRRRR" posts...so yours is quite refreshing :)

 

Don't worry too much, I'm pretty sure 343 is on the ball! I've seen they have worked on adjusting hitboxes, although I'm unsure if they will adjust the classic games (Halo 1,2,3) settings...many people want to keep fully original games.

THIS GAME IS AWESOME IF IT WORKED.  When they roll out the Beta December 29 through January 18 HALO 5, how will that play out. the matchmaking and connection errors.  I get GHOSTS when i try to customize while waiting for the game to connect

well..... I have no plans myself to return the game.... because I bought the digital version. the only thing I can do is just wait and hope that 343 has their eyes on the prize and are working towards fixing these major indicators of a seriously half assed effort in making a game.... we'll see
